Going along swimmingly
It was my first time back in the water after 2 years due to poor health. I must say that I enjoyed the experience. The staff were great and catered to your specific needs. Always friendly and ready to help out. I hope my experience continues to be as it is. No problems. Thank you all.

Overall, it was a great experience! The instructor is really good, and the pool is perfect for beginners and learners. The only downside is that the lockers don’t work, so you’ll need to bring your own bag and keep your belongings by the poolside.
Despite that, I’d still give it 5 stars.

The greeting was lovely from the lady on reception. I felt intimidated by all the men in the gym, but once I met the person doing the induction, I felt at ease.

Disappointing Experience at Newham Leisure Centre Football Pitch

We play football at Newham Leisure Centre every Wednesday and have been doing so regularly. Unfortunately, the experience has been consistently frustrating. The pitch is in poor condition – it’s mostly dirt, and the net is either missing or completely ripped. Despite this, we continue to book it (paying £77) simply because of its convenient location.
We normally book the pitch from 10am to 11am, but unfortunately, today we selected the wrong time and booked it for 11am to 12pm by mistake. Since all the players had arrived early and the pitch is always empty except for us, we politely requested for it to be opened at 10am. Ed, the staff member on duty, eventually opened the pitch at 10:50am, and then kicked us off at 11:30am – insisting that our time had started when he unlocked it. That left us with only 30 minutes of playtime, despite having paid for a full hour.
When I went to reception to speak to a manager (as Ed advised), it turned out he was the manager – making it very uncomfortable to raise our concerns. I explained that this isn’t a one-off issue: the pitch is rarely open on time, and we regularly have to ask staff to unlock it, which cuts into our paid time. Unfortunately, Ed was extremely unprofessional and dismissive during the conversation.
We are very disappointed with the way the facility is managed and the lack of customer care, especially for regulars. Hopefully, the centre takes feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

It was quick and easy to sign up for the better gym. I like the app, it’s clear and easy to use. I like that I have a discount as I work for the NHS, it makes you feel valued and also I like that I’m not restricted to off peak times like my old gym with not much difference in the price. All together, a result in my opinion.

The customer service is soo good at newham leasure centre! I enter the place and the concierge named Mubashir smiled at me and greeted me which was so lovely and also gave me a tour around the centre. Very helpful staff and very nice parking!

Quick and easy to join.
The app makes it easy to book classes/gym.
Staff very friendly.
Instructors knowledgeable and make the classes fun, they check for any pre existing injuries to make sure you are safe to train.
The classes are good and they have many to choose from.
The swimming pool is a good temperature and the changing rooms are nice and clean.
Overall it’s been a good experience 🤘🏻
