Southgate Leisure Centre Swimming Pool area
The cleanliness in the swimming pool area at Southgate Leisure Centre could be improved. In a wet environment the changing room facilities should be cleaned more often and more thoroughly. The water in the showers take very long to get warm especially in the morning. There are also issues with the drainage as there are quite a few drain flies present.
With regards to the Better app it would be great if this could be operated with Face ID as the app constantly logs me out. There has also been recently an update to the app which wasn’t an improvement at all. The app was much better before in terms of navigation.

My old membership ran out
My old membership ran out.
Wrong information given when renewing so had to cancel the membership as advised (still waiting for refund) and am now paying a monthly membership and had £5.70 credit which I am still waiting to be refunded.

The staff at Southgate Leisure Centre…
The staff at Southgate Leisure Centre are excellent and it is very clean.
It would be good to have repairs carried out in a more timely fashion but I understand the constraints.
Southgate would benefit hugely from having an internet that works effectively as it does at Southbury Leisure centre, unfortunately it’s not possible to follow courses on the stationary bikes as the internet will not connect.

Gym facilities are mostly good apart…
Gym facilities are mostly good apart from health suits temperatures not consistent and not cleaned enough- occasional bad smells that don’t bode well for what should be a relaxing experience. At some centres there is a parking racket many customers receive unwarranted tickets & the centre doesn’t help. Meanwhile other centres are great for parking and support literal leisure time!

Limited parking spaces
The introduction to the gym was amazing. The instructor was knowledgeable and sensitive to my reduced mobility. I felt confident that I could use the equipment on my own.
The gym has a very relaxed atmosphere.
The only issue I have found is the parking which takes time to find a parking space. I have a disability but have not been fortunate to find a free disabled bay😞. I would benefit from the larger bay to allow me to take the stroller out of the back seat. But apart from this I have had a positive experience of the centre.

Ever since Better Group have taken over, the Gym has just been absolutely amazing. From the facilities to the classes. The staff are always welcoming as well and very very helpful. In particular when I had an issue with my membership, I spoke to Dylan and he was so kind and very helpful. He resolved my issue quickly. Absolutely amazing customer services Dylan much appreciated.

Solution: Do the job after pleasure center closed or before open.

Your suggestion to carry out floor cleaning outside of peak hours is very helpful. We’ve passed this on to the local management team and will review our cleaning schedule to minimize disruption for our customers.
Additionally, we’ll look into improving drainage in the changing area to prevent this issue from recurring.

1 the pool temperature of the water…
1 the pool temperature of the water must be 29 you must understand ive been coming for 34 years, as we get older the skin becomes thin and old people feel the cold,i dont want to stop coming, however if the water is not heated ill have to stop ,you see im disabled and need to swim for health, also the ladies changing rooms are becoming tacky again..AND SO COLD PLEASE, IT HAS TO BE A PLEASENT EXPERIENCE NOT TOURTURE ... cafe is lovely..more seating would be nice steam /sauna good

I am very disappointed with Better.
I am very disappointed with Better.
A week ago I attended Southgate gym and whilst on running machine could hear group behind holding offensive misogynistic conversations and laughing talking of rape and stabbing possibly in jest. I have requested Better remind staff and all contracted to work for Better to be reminded of policies, code of conduct.
I’m still waiting.
I think that as a lone female, both women and men should not have to put up with being in environments where others feel misogynistic behaviour is acceptable . It is unacceptable!!!!
