Had a really good experience purchasing our new car from Big Motoring World, Sheffield. All staff really friendly and made it really easy.

I don’t buy cars every 2 years or so bit daunting process to engage in but Richard W made us feel welcome he has a very friendly approach nothing too much trouble …. Thank you 😎

I was interested in buying a car from here, but the salesman completely put me off proceeding.

My experience with him was pushy, defensive, and unnecessarily pressuring from start to finish. There were clear repeated attempts to steer me towards finance options I did not want, and when I did not go along with that, his attitude noticeably changed. Rather than listening to what I was actually comfortable with, he seemed far more interested in forcing the sale in the direction that suited him.

The most concerning part was the £500 deposit. I was told I would need to pay this before finance could even be applied for, yet it was never properly explained whether that deposit was refundable or under what circumstances. That should be basic information. I asked for the deposit terms to be confirmed by email before committing any money, which is a perfectly reasonable request when making a large financial decision. Instead of dealing with that professionally, the salesman pushed back, said they were too busy to email it, and expected me to rely on verbal reassurance.

At one point, rather than simply providing the written clarity I was asking for, the response was essentially “we’re not a dodgy company”. That is not the point. A trustworthy salesman does not expect a customer to hand over £500 on trust alone while avoiding a simple written confirmation.

What made the experience worse was the pressure around closing time. I felt rushed to make a decision without the clarity I needed, and then the salesman tried to make it sound as though I was the problem for “taking too long”. That was completely unfair. In reality, a lot of the delay was caused by the salesman himself repeatedly disappearing for long periods without explanation, then coming back and acting as though I was the one holding things up. The only thing I did was ask sensible questions before handing over money and entering into finance.

To be blunt, the salesman came across as more interested in pressure, control, and getting the deal over the line than in being transparent or treating a customer fairly. His approach damaged my trust in the process and ultimately put me off buying the car.

My advice to anyone dealing with this dealership is simple: get absolutely everything in writing before agreeing to anything, especially where deposits and finance are involved. Based on my experience with the salesman, verbal reassurance means very little when clear written answers are being avoided.

We had such a great experience at Big Motoring World thanks to Hashim. He helped us buy two cars and was patient, helpful and never pushy. He gave us time to properly look around the cars ourselves and helped us find the perfect family car within our budget, as well as a smaller run around car for my husband.

We traded in our old cars and were able to drive away the very same day. Both cars had service history and were freshly valeted before we left which was a lovely touch.

Hashim really looked after us throughout the whole process and made what can be a stressful experience feel easy and exciting. If we ever buy another car in the future, we’d definitely want to deal with Hashim again. Highly recommend!

We travelled 45 miles to Sheffield for an 11am appt. Two and a quarter hours later we left with no buy. Annoying in the extreme! Despite the fact that I had informed them of the vehicle I was interested in, it had to be collected and brought. After 45 minutes of sales chat (children, grand children, previous work) we eventually got to see it. Went for a test drive, liked the car, but it went further downhill and wasted time and spiel on warranty, GardX and finance, the latter of which I had already said we didn't want. At that point we hadn't even got a part-exchange value on our own car! Why mention warranty, GardX and finance when you haven't even given me a pt-ex value or sight of a deal? I then went hard ball and more or less demanded the pt-ex value. He went off to those responsible and 10 minutes later came back with an offer that was insulting and £2.5k below a website valuation that they themselves had given me! He said he'd go away and see what he could do. Our patience was now running thin so I said he had 10 minutes to improve the offer. That time passed so I went looking for him and said we were leaving. Of course they don't believe it when you threaten to walk out.....until you do. Altogether a disappointing experience (trying not to swear now) and two and a quarter hours of our lives we will not get back. Bye,bye BMW.I won't be coming back.

I purchased a Mustang Mach E from their Sheffield branch at the beginning of May. Whilst in the dealership I was speaking to a sales executive, who was friendly enough, albeit pushy with regards to offering warranty. I was in the branch for around 3 hours whilst they “prepped” my car. During the handover, I was asked to sign the handover agreement, with the staff member saying the car will be the same as I saw it before but “cleaner”. I got the keys, had a quick look (not long enough, which I regret now) all looked okay. I got it home, then noticed nothing inside the car had been cleaned, there was a handprint on the inside of the door, clearly covered in grease, cup holders filthy but worse of all after driving it in the rain, I noticed they hadn’t even put a rear wiper blade in!

I then sent about polite email with images over, it took them a well over a week to reply, and all they could offer me was to bring it all the way back to Sheffield, to complete a job that should’ve been done during the 3 hours I was on site. The wait time, on a Saturday (the only day I could contemplate getting up there) would be 4 hours!!

I offered to pay for a full valet closer to home and get a new wiper blade, and just ask they reimburse that cost. They refuse, and refuse to offer me any other alternative, than travelling all the way to Sheffield. Completely unprofessional. I strongly recommend picking another group to purchase your car from!

Catalina was fantastic throughout the whole process. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all of our questions patiently, and made what could have been a stressful experience feel simple and straightforward. We really appreciated how approachable and knowledgeable he was, and we felt supported every step of the way. Excellent service and a genuinely positive experience.

Could have given more for my car in part exchange but give me a Big Motoring warranty for what ever that is worth as I’ve heard they just say its normal wear and tear so no deal but great selection of cars

First of all the welcome you get straight away you think well I was just going to browse now I might actually buy a car seriously your guys there are very good at there job and I will recommend Big motoring world to any who is wishing to buy a new or used car without hesitation

I felt very ‘looked after’ and the team went above and beyond expectations to make sure the car I choose was perfect for me. Les was our salesman and he was fantastic. Highly recommend this showroom. Lots of choice and very efficient with admin.

Every staff member I spoke to from reception to sales, finance and the collection of my new car were really friendly and so helpful!! Drove away within 24 hours would highly recommend!
