BJs scams EBT customers, withholds funds, blames store

This has been happening for nearly a year now. At least ten times. Once again, placed an EBT order for pickup. Store says they can SEE the order and that I have been charged, can see the order number, the items, the charges to the cards... but they can't pick it because it "hasn't dropped yet", whatever that means. Phone customer service (in Colombia) gives me only ONE choice: cancel the order, which makes them HOLD my HUNDREDS of EBT $$ for a WHOLE MONTH. We have no dinner tonight because of this. We have no other $ to use to get food. They are holding ALL our money hostage right now. After an HOUR & A HALF on the phone w the store, store said they could do nothing. TOLD the chat and phone customer service center this. They said "we will escalate it". The email response was "go to the store and they will help you with your order and money".... I already TOLD them that the store said THEY CAN DO NOTHING short of cancel the order wherein the hundreds of dollars will be HELD for a MONTH by BJ's. Went there anyway, they could do NOTHING, as they said on the phone. Instructed by the online service rep to make that half hour round trip for nothing. My family has no dinner tonight! We waited for this food money, we have NO other way to buy food! We are on POVERTY ASSISTANCE!!! Passing the blame and responsibility to the store is NOT FAIR AT ALL to the kind, patient, hardworking employees there!!! They've bent over backwards while the online customer service renders them HELPLESS ***AND*** pass the blame to them! They LIE saying the store can fix it... they can't. The store said this happens a LOT to EBT customers trying to place online orders, and that Member Services gives ZERO support and in fact places the blame and responsibility on the store. My only choice is to cancel the order wherein they will KEEP over $300 of grocery money, ALL we have for the month, on HOLD for 30 days.

Worst Company Ever

Hate this company. You can never get ahold of corporate and the store employees do not care to help you. Do not get the BJ’s credit card unless you plan on using all the time there. You will not earn any rewards back if you use a different card. Thank you for letting me know this BJ’s. The name fits you.

Not charged until shipped

I was searching for the best price to buy a birthday gift for my wife. When I ordered not only did the gift come early but my card wasn't charged until the product was shipped. I am so used to being charged days or weeks before i receive the item.

I would write zero stars if I could

I would write zero stars if I could. They opened a new store near me & I previously had a membership years back. I signed up in person & she charged my card 7 times for 1 membership. I went back 2 times to fix it & they could not. Renewal time I was charged 7 renewals. I contacted them by phone, email & in person. No one helped. They asked for information they had in their records. I had to contact my credit card to stop payment. Then I checked my membership, canceled.

Manager Frank at BJ's #169 Cape Coral ,FL 33909. Unprofessional/Saracastic Experience as an Employee and Club Member

As a Customer and former employee at this BJ's Store #169 in Cape Coral , Florida 33909, I must say the Manager Frank employed there is Unprofessional & Sarcastic , creating such a toxic environment to work under on a daily basis. His behavior toward employees along with customers should be investigated along with his undermining tactics of authoritative abuse. Corporate should investigate his failure to follow company protocol.Too many negative incidents involving this manager not only staff complaints but club members also.

Second delivery with issues.

This is the second time in a row my order was delivered and missing items.

First time it was coffee and I ended up having to go to the store to get a refund from customer service. Defeats the purpose of home delivery of ihave to drive 30 minutes to the store after receiving a delivery.

BJS needs to handle this better in general.

Now today I order some items. Driver had laid out all items outside of my building on the floor. I understand these items were packages, but who wants to use something that has been sitting on the floor. Also, I ordered a 25lb bag of rice and it had a hole in it, so once again I'm going back to the store for exchange.

Once again, defeats the purpose of home delivery if the only remedy to issues with an order is to go back to the store to resolve.

I'm considering using another service or paying someone to go shop for me as this is a major inconvenience and shouldn't have happened (twice).

DO BETTER BJS.

BJs Home Delivery Service is terrible

I recently fractured my ankle and knee so I am in a wheelchair. I signed up for BJs 2 hour home delivery service and put in an order. Under instructions, I explained that I am in a wheelchair so please ring bell and wait for me to open the door. The delivery person did not ring the bell. He dumped my order on the walk in front of the steps to my house. There was no way that I could get it. I had items that needed refrigeration sitting in the sun. I had to call a friend to bring in my order. When I called to cancel the delivery service add-on membership, they cancelled my entire BJs membership. It has taken 5 phone calls to have my membership reinstated a week later, and I have still not received a refund for their delivery service membership. Even worse, they added an $8.00 tip for their delivery driver to my bill.

Good customer disappointed

Stopped by the tire dept 2x yesterday. Only 1 employee on duty. Poor guy was all by himself with a room full of customers. So, I went back early this morning. They open at 9:00am. Waited in the cold for a half hour and still not opened. I stood there, & watched 5 other cars stop by. No one there. They have a big sale on tires too. I called the front desk to let them know at 9am. No one, nothing. At 9:30am went to the customer service desk , let them know, still not opened. This bjs is really a big disappointment to me. I have been coming here since they opened their doors. No one cares....

So, I went to Walmart & purchased tires from them & the bill came to $1150.00. They were kind & responsive. Bj's could learn a few things about customer service from them.

That's for sure.

BJ’s Scam at the gas pump

The Gas Buddy app had BJ’s gas price in Raleigh, NC at the same price as both the BJ’s signs leading to the BJ’s gas pumps.
But when you actually get to the pumps there’s a different price…more expensive. What a Scam!

Every year for the last five years

Every year for the last five years, someone at BJ’s has been using my card to renew their membership. The money comes out of my checking account every year. This is someone from Massachusetts. I live in New Jersey. So every year I have to call my bank and get my card shut down and changed and this happens again every year even when my card changes. When I go to the store, it tells me I didn’t renew the membership that the money was taken out of my bank account for. So I know it is someone else. And then I have to renew my membership and pay more money.

Extremely poor management and customer service

Tire department had 1 empoyee working and he was filling propane tanks, installing tires and manning the register. I had a 12pm appointment am currently writing this review in the writing room at almost 4pm. Probably will never stop at BJs again because of this experience. The worker Kyle was cool and deserves a raise, because I would have quit. He was given no assistance at all. Avoid this tire shop completely. I ordered my tires online so had to wait for them to retrieve them, otherwise I would have canceled my order. They need to shut the tire department down until they can adequately staff it.

WHICH THEY RAN OUTTA BOOKS EVERYDAY IT SEEMS & THEY CAN'T AFFORD TO MAIL THE BOOKS ANYMORE I GUESS, BUT THEIR PRICES R THROUGH THE ROOF!
I'M FAR A AWAY FR COSTCO BUT I SURE WON'T BE RENEWING WITH BJS!

Bakery debacle

2/18, went to pick up a sheet cake I ordered for my mom’s 80th birthday. When I got there and the cake was brought out to me it looked like a 5 yr old had decorated it! It was embarrassing. The same person that decorated it, said they would redo it. Needless to say I had to buy a sheet cake from out of the display case with no writing on it! I had 50 of my family members waiting for me to surprise my mom & there was no way I was walking in with the cake I originally ordered. She offered to redo it but why would I have the same person redecorate it if it was awful the first time?! I called customer service the next day to explain what happened. I asked if they train people or just throw anyone in there. The reply I got was “maybe she just had an off day”. Will never order from there again!!!

Extremely unprofessional and shady

Everytime i went shopping at BJs they would charge me taxes on certain foods. I just had it with them, i buy same items at other grocers and they never charge me taxes. I decided to cancel my membership,which they guarantee money back. I called customer care. They cancelled my membership, that i only had for 2mths and claimed they refunded me back to original payment method. It's been 2mths of me constantly calling, but no solution. They give me the run around. Claiming they are escalating the matter and they will reach out to me in 3 days everytime i call, but noone ever calls me or emails me. I even went to the store to resolve this, but they say they can't help me. Only customer care can resolve the issue. In conclusion... I basically paid for a 1 year membership that is inactive. I thought they were a large legitimate organization, but they are extremely shady.

I was a member of BJs for 10 years…

I was a member of BJs for 10 years until recently I shopped like normal, went and saw my deli friends like normal, got in the check out line like normal had the kid scan my items I paid over $200 dollars at the check out went to leave and the lady at the door called me a theif. I said what are you talking about I have a recipet and she said no you didn’t pay for this… please notes this… I have $200 in my cart what is this? She holds up the line there is 20 people now waiting to leave. I said can we sort this out she puts me a side to wait for a manager. I said to my friend who was with me what the duck (f) and the manager heard me and said don’t swear in front of that child. I said that’s my son. She said I don’t care you swear in front of any child in front of me to which I replied I am being called and thief and upset I made a mistake I don’t think my swearing in the point here she said I don’t care your a pss poor mother and I will take your child. Ooooo noo I was done. At that point I was a pss poor mother and a theif with a reciept. So I walked out saying your not talking my kid you don’t talk to me like that!!! Jessica was her name chased me to my car as I left. When I got in the car to call management to say what the heck happened today this is insane then did nothing to protect me as a customer. They protected a women who threatened to steal my child from me over a unknown item that I probably paid for because I went to a cashier. If there was a mistake hey we say that we don’t threaten to take babies from moms and say do better as a parent that’s what she said I was pss poor and do better itch now who swore in front of my kid. The hypocrisy and the manger never called me. Nothing. They just said bye. Wow. I am currently in the process of filing a law suit as I have a recording and witnesses since I’m still being charged a membership for a place I can’t shop at.

Waste of Precious Family Time

I do not understand why Bj's makes us WASTE Precious family time looking for coupons for my purchases. I already Pay a Fee to shop there! Just put the item on Sale (give us the sales price) and be done with it! And, if I am doing express pay, it should automatically detect coupons for items I have scanned. Again, taking Precious Time away from my family!
