CAR PARKING FINE HIRED VENUE
I hired a conference room at the Adelphi Hotel and car parking is included for employees/staff of the hiring business. I provided the car registration number at reception who confirmed it would be sorted.
A parking fine was received few days later.
No contact available at the hotel, telephone ringing out at reception.
Safe to say I won’t be hiring conference rooms again from Britannia Hotels Group.
PLEASE BE AWARE COMPANIES LOOKING TO HIRE VENUES. DO NOT USE BRITANNIA GROUP.
Cold, Dusty & dirty room in Britannia Coventry
We went to Britannia hotel Royal Court Hotel Tamworth Road, Keresley, Coventry, CV7 8JG, United Kingdom. We occupied room 248 3rd floor from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25th October 2025. The temperature was 5*C and the room doesn’t have a functioning heater. We notified the reception that night and nobody helped till Friday morning. They sent an unqualified person to look at it, and he wasn't able to help. They promised to send us an electric heater but never despite our persistence in telling them the room was freezing. They never sent a heater and nobody cared about us.
The carpet was dirty and the wall was dusty, the bathroom smells mould.
This is an hotel to avoid this winter if you do not want to die.
Thanks
Britania hotel Coventry
Usual for a hotel to ask for ID when checking in without any prior notice in their email communications.
The room was really outdated and bed sheets smelled.
It was a nightmare experience.
Their customer service didn't even bother answering my email.
Absolutely disgusting customer service
Absolutely disgusting customer service. I have twice contacted the hotel regarding the complaint I have and STILL no one has had the decency to come back to me. They are not interested in their guests whatsoever. Staff at desk are unbelievably rude and unhelpful. They actually go out of their way to be as awkward as possible. This place needs to be closed down. The managers need sacking as you get Absolutely nowhere when you try to complain. Just ignored from booking onwards
Stayed in Scarborough with my partner &…
Stayed in Scarborough with my partner & all seemed well until going for dinner. The food was terrible, like something out of a tin.
My partner went to speak to someone to see if it was possible to cancel breakfast & if so would it be refunded.
The customer service received was disgusting. The shift manager was so rude & aggressive. It was as if she wanted an argument. While talking she was jabbing her finger at her screen & banging her hands on the desk saying we had booked a child & an adult instead of 2 adults. Having tried to show her the booking on my phone stating it’s there in black & white 2 adults she signed to say she would authorise a refund for breakfast but she would not do this & we should speak to head office.
The attitude of this manager left my partner in tears, she was ready to leave the hotel.
Next morning when checking out we spoke with a different manager who said the night manager was having personal problems & to leave the refund with him. We have had no contact from the hotel since.

We took the opportunity to have a night away saturday night, child free which is a rare opportunity for us both.
We wanted to explore somewhere we had in mind as a possible wedding venue, so decided to book a night here Dinner, Bed and breakfast.
First impressions were lovely, however this all changed after dinner, we went to Dinner and neither of us were impressed and didnt eat hardly anytime, infact i have never been for a meal and it be as poor as it was. But instead of complaining we agreed we would just ask for Breakfast money back and go out for it instead,
The lady on reception was nice and pointed me to a manager on the front desk, who was nothing but agressive, talking to us through gritted teeth in temper, acussing my partner of amending the booking to a child after booking, i have never met someone so volitile in my life. Banging the desk, infact reflecting she wanted me to start carrying on, she wanted an argument, she agreed to give us £15 then within 10 second so my partner bringing the card said no, in the end i had to walk away i was upset at how she spoke to me, honestly avoid this hotel at all costs unless you want to come across an agressive manager. Who told us to contact head office yet when we left at 7am yesterday we spoke to some staff who asked if we had a nice stay we explained last night and they said they could see what they could do when a manager comes in we have heard nothing.
I went away on Saturday night and cried my eyes out this is the worst experience i have ever had, and we were told yesterday this lady has problems at home this doesnt make it ok to be agressive and want an arguement with 2 genuine people, i could have asked for tea money back i didnt.
She acussed us of being dishonest and changing a booking when we clearly had it showing 2 adults, never again would i stay here and to top it off when we go upto our room someone in a room nearby is smoking weed, we didnt feel we could go speak to her about this as she was unapproachable.
We left at 7am yesterday.
Britannia Hotel Russ Hill Gatwick booking SCAM
Russ Hill Gatwick booking SCAM
Booked via Britannia Hotels website. Advertised on their site as stay and 15 day parking from £79 so I clicked and booked with dinner and breakfast came to about £120.
When arrived at Russ Hill was charged a further £75 pounds for parking. Receptionist and manager looked at the site agreed it was room and stay but said I needed to take it up with Britannia Hotels when back from holiday.
Called them today they say it is not there problem even though I pointed out it was miss advertised on their site. Just said yes it is on the site but it should not have let you booked so it our problem call Russ Hill which I did they just cut me off when I ask to speak to a manager.
A huge SCAM AND MISS ADVERTISING ON OFFICIAL BRITANNIA WEB SITE ABOID THIS COMPANY.
Britannia hotel Europa Gatwick Hotel…
Britannia hotel Europa Gatwick Hotel &Spa .
Charged me £25.00 to park a car and trailer .
It states parking is £7.00 per vehicle.
So even if I payed for 2 spaces it should be only £14.00 . Also didn't take American express when they said they do

Unsafe, poor service and no basic care — do not stay here
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I stayed at Britannia Leeds Airport for a few days, hoping for somewhere safe to recover after leaving a frightening situation. Instead, my stay was stressful, unsafe, and deeply upsetting.
No heating or comfort: My room had no heating, and I had to use my own bedding. The beds were single, uncomfortable, and not what I had booked. When I asked to change rooms or get a refund, I was told the hotel was “fully booked.”
Lack of basic care: I struggled to get essential items like toilet paper, and no one came to clean or even check on my room.
Unsafe environment: I felt targeted by a group of men during my stay and experienced behaviour that felt discriminatory and threatening. Staff at reception made loud, humiliating comments, accusing me of booking under a false name, even after I showed my ID. This public shaming left me feeling unsafe, paranoid, and extremely distressed, especially as I was already recovering from trauma.
Poor staff response: Staff gave conflicting information and were often dismissive of my concerns. The only kindness I experienced was from two bar staff, including a lovely Filipino lady, who treated me with respect.
By the end of my stay, I felt ignored, unsafe, and even experienced panic attacks as a result of how I was treated.
I wasted my money here. If you need a secure and supportive place to recover, this is not it. The hotel environment is unsafe, uncaring, and unprofessional. The only positives were the kindness of a few staff members and some friendly fellow guests, but overall, I would never return.
Carrington house hotel bournemouth - The Pits
Carrington house hotel bournemouth is an absolute pit of a place, from arriving to leaving in the morning.
The place is filthy, the staff rude, the packed breakfast was the cheapest items I've ever had, I just gave them right back.
There were no rubber bath mat to put in the bath to have a shower, to be honest you would need welly boots to go in it.
We were with a coach tour or would have went elsewhere, there were no shops nearby so couldn't even go get anything.
STAY AWAY
The Britannia in Birmingham is excellent value for money Hotel.
I am staying in the Britannia Hotel in Birmingham. It is centrally located situated as it is within 250 yards of New St railway station. My room has a comfortable double bed a large screen TV and there is an excellent power shower in the bathroom. The wi/fi reception is good and it’s free, unlike some more expensive hotels who charge £5 a day. All this for an average of £55 per night.(I stayed four nights and will do so again.)
DO NOT STAY HERE
Omg where do I start... do NOT stay at the norbreck castle hotel in Blackpool it is the absolute PITS.... filthy rotten dirty rooms with dead bugs and mouse droppings on corner.. dust thick on curtain pelmet.. curtains hanging off rails... broken and dangerous bath panels... room not been cleaned in months.. dirty bath and carpets
Complained and was offered a free bottle of wine on our next stay!!!!!!. Which is obviously never going to happen and they know it..... this hotel does NOT meet health and safety standards and should be condemned
Clearly put profit above all

Continuing Issues
Stay at The Royal Court hotel in Coventry.
I am a regular client, as the pricing is attractive however, I have regularly experienced issues with vehicle parking, staff totally disinterested. Breakfast is generally something of a scrummage, on 16th August it was particularly poor, as the hotel was catering for several coach parties, in addition to the regular hotel clientele, and the consequences were simply complete chaos.
I notice that the car park and outside areas have been tidied, since I noticed how abysmal they were last Autumn. One glaring problem, there is only two disabled spaces in the whole car park. BRITANNIA, thi is totally inadequate, and it doesn't comply with the spirit of the Disability Rights legislation, please review this.
Some parts of the hotel are quite shabby and poorly maintained e.g. the elevator, which actually contained detritus. The wheelchair assistance platform has an "out of order" notice affixed, no help for a disabled person!
Staff are generally helpful, it won't take much to address the issues, do let's see some small improvements, please.
Government cash
Totally unacceptable putting money before people, stay away from this hotel group, only interested in government cash handouts. No paying guests? Just free loading asylum seekers paid for by my tax and yours.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs,
The hotel reception staff are unfriendly, even rude, and can be aggressive. Other guests complained of this, as well as ourselves.

The hotel room in Llandudno was the worst that I have ever stayed in, it is nothing like the Web site description. the balcony was rusty and filthy, I have photos. The manager said I would be given a refund from head office customer services. Customer said that it is hotel that gives refunds. I have emailed 3 times and phoned. No response. They clearly just ignore genuine complaints.
