Can't get logged on - can't get to my money
Set up savings account approx 6 weeks ago and stupidly transferred money into it. I received my on line banking details, but couldn't get logged on. My 2 login references weren't recognised. I went through "forgotten password" process and had message advising new login details would be sent within 4 days. That was a month ago - nothing received. So, they have my money, I've since transferred more under a standing order, and I can't get to it. I've had to go through the "forgotten password" process again today. When / if I do eventually get logged on, I'll be emptying my account and moving my money somewhere accessible and reliable. I went with Cahoot because they were recommended on a reputable financial advice website, but I assume the recommendation was based entirely on the interest rate, not the bank itself. Be aware of this if a savings account looks attractive to you.
Cahoot + Santander = grief
I have accounts with Cahoot and its parent company so I should know better. Cahoot is an old clunky system that is poorly designed just like Santander. One example. OTP notification is really flaky - read the reviews. Yet they dont even give you the option of a different method of verification. Once they have your cash they dont care. Being a Santander customer I have low expectations but they never fail to underperform. Yes - I am moving my money out once I can get into my account! Tried five times today but no OTPs being sent! Stay clear. Obviously minus stars if I could.

Absolutely horrendous please do not bank with Cahoot. I set up a savings account every time I log in I end up blocked out of my online banking. I was told I would receive a letter in the post to reset this, it took 7 days to come out in the post and the password they sent would not work. I have been trying to access my own money for weeks now to no avail. I’m absolutely disgusted at this company and there customer service on the phone was terrible the line kept ‘dropping’. If I don’t get access soon I’m going to seek legal action through Financial obusman as this is horrendous. I had a large bill to pay which I accidentally sent to this cahoot account and now I’ve over due it’s caused me significant issues please avoid at all costs.

Bit surprised overall rating is so low. I've had a simple saver since last September. Rate was the best at the time for an easy access product and is still one of best. Rate from September last year has only recently been reduced and they give you two months notice. This is far more than most providers. This is a major USP and Cahoot should make more of it. Easy to manage account on laptop. Never had need to try on phone. Spoken with them several times by phone and service was as good as with any other provider. Interest rates permitting, plan to stay with Cahoot.

Very odd opening procedure for a savings account. I’m a customer with Santander yet Cahoot want to know a lot of information about income (why? I’m just asking for a savings account, not general banking); they insist you have to enter a monthly sum you’ll be depositing (why? I’m making a lump sum deposit); and then they don’t even actually open an account, just give you an application reference. Bizarre. In contrast, just a few hours earlier I opened a savings account with the Post Office (at only a tiny bit less interest) with no intrusive questions and that was activated instantly, so I’ve already been able to deposit a very large lump sum into that one. If I ever hear anything from Cahoot now, I’m not sure I’ll be bothering to go forward with the account.

Very difficult to access account

Will have to contact their customer services, which I am not looking forward to going by reviews if waiting times. The fact they don’t have a banking app is ridiculous nowadays. Not easy to use at all!!!
Service is ok, BUT --
Service is ok no problem. BUT introduces newer issues of savings accounts at a higher rate of interest, leaving existing customers at older, lower rates of interest. Customers need to constantly check, and request that their savings accounts be updated to the newer, better savings rate issue!

I would give zero stars if I could. The online banking system is outdated and clunky. Customer service is terrible, they don't bother to reply to messages. I have been trying to close my account for 9 months. Avoid.

Trying to log in to my account on my phone is almost impossible - the text sent as the 2-step authentication is so long and complicated that you can't memorise it and insert where required :(

Well I’ve been a customer for about a year, I’ve never experienced any issues whatsoever, it all seems pretty straightforward, transferring money in and out, and receiving monthly interest, I really am surprised at the large number of poor reviews that Cahoot seems to have attracted… I have had no problems….
Absolute shambles
Opened account online - took 3 days to get an email with account details and said I could put money into account. Tried twice to put money into account and twice the money was bounced back with 'Account unable to receive credit' - this caused the sending Bank (Barclays) to blow a fuse and block my account. Rang Cahoot and was told that new accounts have a temporary block which will be lifted 'at some point'.
Unable to know when the block will be lifted, unable to know when I can put money into account until notified of online access details by post - which could be 7 to 10 days. In the meantime I am losing Interest (in more ways than one). Absolute shambles. Do not use Cahoot unless you have money (and time) to spare.
Locked Out!
Locked out of my savings account and absolutely no way to reinstate, other than to wait 6 working days for post to arrive with reset instructions and codes. Day to day account (different provider) is overdrawn and accruing charges until such times that I can transfer funds again. Antiquated Cahoot software with limited recovery systems. Once sorted, I will be transferring my savings to another provider!

Today is 21st April.
I have savings with quite a few institutions and all have given me interest statements for last financial year so I can complete my tax return - bar one - Cahoot. They don't mention interest at all and some operative called Kris seems to think this is OK and refers me to my Account Summary document (which is silent on the subject of interest)
Steer clear. I'm going to move my money.

I can't remember anything negative upon opening my account last year. I don't use phone but a PC or lap top to log in. I have never had any problems whatsoever in withdrawing money, paying bills or transferring to my bank account. I felt I had to review having seen all the negative reviews. I can hardly believe what I'm reading! Cahoot have great rates and straighforward banking imo

Absolutely useless website with no app. Pathetic for a supposedly modern bank using current technology.
Once I can actually connect to the website again, I will be closing my accoutn with this rubbish bank.

Wish I had read reviews before I opened an account. Ive been with Santander for years so assumed Cahoot would be ok. How wrong was I. 2 weeks on and still can't get access to see money in my account. Locked out because I entered wrong code from their letters. Now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks to try again. Totally useless bank and as soon as I get access to my deposited money (which they accepted no problem!!) I will move it to a decent bank
