If I could give this Company a 0 I would. PLEASE don’t use them. They have taken over $16,000 of my money and provided me with ZERO help. I had a litigation filed against me and was promised when I signed up a Lawyer would be provided for me if this if this happened. Lawyer was not provided, I had to file a response on my on and then a Jusgement was made against me. This COMPANY is a flipping JOKE. They need to be SHUT DOWN. They can’t even explain what the almost $600 Service Charge Monthly goes to. DONT USE THEM. They never return calls either

This company tells you everything you want to hear but does nothing to keep there word. They have a bunch of people that work there and that are very good at reading from a card and cant do anything. I have have sued twice by collectors since i made the mistake of using them and ended up paying the credit card companys off my self.You will regret using them

I have been enrolled into the so called debt consolidation program in early 2019, The rep sold me the ocean but delivered a bottle of water! if that makes sense!
what happened, or how this program actually work!

1. I didn't have any default on any of my cards, I just felt one payment to pay them all would make sense, but in reality what they do is ask you to sop paying and let your Credit cards or whatever debt you enrolled in go into default, this could take 6 to 7 months before the creditors start calling you! and then another 3 months or so for the debt to be assigned to another credit collectors! in the meantime your credit score will plunge into the floor!

2. Canyon Legal will ask you to start making payment into the program to start accumulating money into your escrow account! they start paying themselves their fees upfront! so you are actually paying them for at least 6-9 months before they start the negotiation with the creditors!

3. You will get letters in the mail from all your creditors, Canyon will ask you to upload them into the portal! the portal is literally broken, after the upload is complete, it says done, but it never gets actually uploaded, how do I know? because I call Canyon the following day to confirm the receipt of the document but I get the usual answer, we didn't get it!!! I end up asking for the rep email to send him/her the documents then they will be able to upload it!

4. What happened to the documents that have been received by the rep? it gets uploaded, 100% no one looks at it! how do I know? I have been sued twice by the credit cards creditors, but before they sued me they have notified me in the mail, it is the same document I have uploaded and no one looked at from Canyon legal group, it is funny that 90% they never call you to discuss your options or try to tell you what or could happen, they just let it play it course! they are very bad at keeping customer on the alert and have 0% caring about you! the only time I get calls is when they ask for reviews!

5. They say we assigned lawyer to your case! ok sounds great! the laywer will call you for 30 minutes to tell you stop making payments and what to do if the creditors call you and that's all! reality check! the lawyer does nothing! if there is an issue requires a lawyer they send your case to the lawyers network to see if any lawyer willing to take your case, if you have been sued! guess what they give him 7 days to resolve it, if no agreement reached they send it back to the inhouse negotiators "useless"! pretty twisted process! and if you don't call Canyon and stay on top of your case! trust me you will lose the case against you to the creditor in the court!

6. It is very important to keep the customer up to date, specially with these kind of issues, the portal and communication is very very critical to keep you posed! Canyon Legal Group are very bad at those two, the portal doesn't have the proper communication methods, nor have the negotiators current status of where they at, no trails or logs!

7. The negotiators: oh man don't get me started! i have asked the Rep many times to keep notes for the negotiators in the log every time I call, guess what! those notes never reaches the negotiators! they also don't negotiate in your best interest! they look at your escrow account! and that's all! I have literally told the rep from the start of the program leave this note in my account "if any credit collector willing to do lump sum then let the negotiators reach out to me and I will work with them to make the lumpsum available". no one from the negotiators have ever reached out to me nor send me an email to ask me if I have option for closing a debt with lumpsum and if I have the money to do it! after all, every month you are in the program you are paying monthly service fees! so in their interest to keep you as long as they can or as they told you how many years the program will run! don't keep your hopes up that the negotiators will work for your best interest!

8. I have zero start rating for Canyon Legal Group, because this is not a program I suggest to anyone, you are better do it yourself! call the credit card companies and work with them a deal! they have way better options when you reach out to them directly!

9. I would never ever in my life would try to use a debt consolidator ever, specially Canyon Legal Group! it is not a scam! it is legit but the process is twisted and doesn't really help you!

10. I am trying to fix my credit score as result of the program! Canyon failed to work with my during the negotiations with the creditors, they failed to keep me informed! they failed to set debt priority! they failed in all aspects of making customer priority!

The above review is based on my personal experience with Canyon Legal Group, this is my 3rd and last year to finish the program, not because they did their job, no, it is because I stayed on top of it!

So far I’m very disappointed.I was told the program would be over in 51 months and I’m told now it will take an additional 16 months .

I'm curious how much you paid people for these 4-5 star reviews? Or are these employees and friends of friends who agreed to be swindle into writing these high rated BS reviews? By clicking the confirmation box, you 4-5 star reviewers are just as bad as Canyon themselves. The Canyon Group are nothing more than crooks, getting their money upfront while the client gets taken to the cleaners throughout their 3 year contract. Upfront they tell you they can reduce your debt 50% or better. What they leave out is their insane upfront fees are not included, which equal to 20% or more of original debt. At best you receive 10-20% discount from original debt. You can negotiate directly with creditors and receive 50-70% 'OR MORE' up to 90% discount. Canyon offers Absolutely NO COMMUNICATION between attorneys and clients. If you are actually even true attorneys? All a client gets is someone on the line who has been well trained to feed you a line of BS, making it seem they are actually accomplishing something for you. They have their fancy document upload system to make them seem legit. When you get to a point over a year or 2 into your contract and notice the little debt gauge only shows 10% of accounts have been satisfied and you contact them, they then throw in the 'well, add more money to your account for quicker settlements'... No CANYON, SPREAD YOUR FEES OUT SO CLIENTS CAN SETTLE DEBTS QUICKER!!!! Canyon's 'negotiating skills' with creditors are that of a 5th grader, at best. Karma's a B%$ scumbags!

Bottom line: If you have a lot of debt and really need a group to give attention to your situation, this is not the company for you.

I specifically went to them for one specific loan that was causing 90% of my problems and they never talked to the creditor even after I reported to them that the creditor was continually contacting my employer. They did NOTHING about it, NOTHING.

I've been with Canyon Legal group for 18 months. They act as predators that speak well over the phone before you sign your contract, but after, they don't respond in a timely manner to your inquiries and they don't contact or respond to your creditors. They pocket a significant amount of money for you with promises that they'll relieve your stress, but I'm more stress now that I found out they do nothing for the money they're paid. I've been summoned to court three times and the creditors still call my employer and family because Canyon Legal never talks to them. In the 18 months so far, three of my creditors have not talked to any representative from Canyon Legal. Also, everything is the computer's fault. The customer service people you work with are only processors. They don't have the ability to perform real customer service. "The computer" or "the system" are the excuses they use not to perform anything for you. They did respond quickly though when I filed a Better Business complaint on them.

There are other options out there, do your research...

This company will cost you far more money than other companies, and they will not return your communications. Please do not use this company.
They gave me a quote to settle my debts, which I accepted, and now at the end of my payments (which I made in full) they say they gave a poor estimate, and now want an additional $17K.
BEWARE. They will induce you into contract with a "low offer" to settle your debts, and two years later, they will ask for another amount that is almost equal to what your total debts were with the credit card companies. You will pay more in fees and costs due to their "need" for a larger payment at the end than you would with any other company.

Hired company to negotiate and reduce debts. Program stated debt free in 52 months with a pre set payment plan that I was told was guaranteed to be successful. I was in the program for 25 months and paid $20,000 to them. Little be known, this money goes to them for their services even though they haven’t even provided any service. In the 2 years, they let all my accounts go without communication to creditors and therefore served with lawsuits on them. 1 summons they failed to answer so I had a default judgment of $24,000. When I kept getting served with other lawsuits, I personally sought out the attorney who told me once it goes legal there is little to do in reducing debts, which is the whole point of their program. I demonstrated by their calculations I would not be successful in their program. They refused to reimburse me as they failed to provide a successful, appropriate service as advertised and put me in legal jeopardy. The money I paid this company, I could have called all creditors right away and negotiated myself and made arrangements for payments and been debt free sooner than being in this program. This is a scam and has been reported to the BBB, FTC, Federal and State Attorney General Offices.

All of the employees that answer the phone are always pleasant and helpful. Here is the problem, I sent in a lump sum the first part of December. I have been getting the runaround all of these months about getting “on it”. I have paid you to provide the services you promised. You have disappointed me in doing that. I’m in the process of speaking to my attorney to resolve this debt since you can’t seem to get it finished. Let down and angry!

He was very knowable and answered all my questions

Canyon were able to negotiate settlements for me. The time frame, initially estimated was exceeded substantially ( more than a year longer). The communication in the process was not satisfactory, no emails or calls on any reached settlements. I was provided with updates, only when I called. During two Summons & Complaints I received, I found little to no support from Canyon. My lump sum payment, to settle the open accounts, has been received by Canyon 7 weeks ago, but the accounts have not been settled to this day. I think agents are doing a good job, but the overall communication and response process and processing is not the best in the business. I made all payments on time, early and tried to get my life back in order as quickly as possible..... daily calls are part of my routine with them. In conclusion: if you are in a desperate situation, you can work with them, but be prepared it is not he greatest of services you will have to deal with. Regardless of what they say, you will have to take care of a lot of troublesome things yourself (letters to and appearance in Court, without support)
