Horrible customer service
The process of cancelling or changing flights is extremely frustrating. Customer service is horrible with agents who have 0 knowledge and are reckless and lie to the face that they sent email for refund and when you follow up, there would be no email sent at all.
Horrible, will never book with this website again.
Failed me when flight was delayed
I rented a car and out flight was delayed. The car rental place was not open and we lost our money. We called capital one travel throughout our flight. Lady recommendation was to book using our capital one credit card. We still did t get a refund or even a partial refund. We shared our flight boarding pass, email from air carrier and proof the flight was late. They continued to say not enough information was shared. Car place wouldn’t give us a car the next morning and capital one didn’t help us find a car. Do not book with them - stay with someone like Expedia. Worst experience.
Uh Oh ! something went wrong
I've tried to book a flight for days and kept receiving the "Uh Oh ! something went wrong message".
Called customer service and they told me that "sometimes" the flight are not up to date in the portal ... They suggested to book directly with the flight company.
Also this happened after the whole website was down for a whole day.
Not a good experience and considering to switch to a different travel card.

Misleading 24-Hour Cancellation Policy Cost Me $2,497
I wanted to share my experience with Capital One Travel in case it helps others before booking.
On May 28, 2026, I booked a flight and hotel package through Capital One Travel totaling $2,497. During checkout, the website prominently displayed “Free Cancellation Within 24 Hours.” Relying on that information, I completed the booking. Just four hours later, I decided to cancel the trip, believing I was well within the advertised cancellation window.
After canceling, I noticed the charge was still pending on my Capital One card. I immediately contacted Capital One Travel, and the representative attempted to process a refund but was unsuccessful. They contacted the hotel and told me they would follow up. I later received confirmation that my reservation had been canceled, but the hotel refused to issue a refund.
Over the next several weeks, I spent hours calling Capital One Travel, the dispute department, and attempting to contact the hotel myself. I was repeatedly told that Capital One Travel was waiting on the hotel to respond. I was also instructed by the dispute team to wait until the charge posted before filing a dispute. Once I did, my dispute was ultimately denied after the hotel responded.
What frustrated me most was being told afterward that the 24-hour cancellation only applied to the flight. As a first-time Capital One Travel customer, there was nothing during checkout that clearly communicated that the hotel would still be non-refundable despite the prominent “Free Cancellation Within 24 Hours” message. Had that been made clear, I never would have completed the booking.
I have screenshots showing the cancellation policy that was displayed during booking and documentation showing that I canceled just four hours after making the reservation.
This experience left me out $2,497 despite canceling almost immediately and making every effort to resolve the issue through the proper channels. I expected much better from Capital One Travel and hope they improve the clarity of their booking policies so other customers don’t end up in the same situation.
I’d give them a zero if I could
I’d give them a zero if I could. I’ve been a loyal card holder for almost 20 years and I’m horrified what’s become of this once great institution. I started using their travel service thinking it must have some advantage over hotels.com etc. And friends with similar services on their cards seemed really happy. Boy was I wrong. I was duped into renting a car in Italy without any indication that some of the rental companies they partner with require you have an international driver’s license. I’ve rented cars in Italy for 30+ years and NEVER had an issue. In the Rome airport I was immediately denied on this grounds and Cap One refused to help or issue a refund. I had to go to Avis, which was super friendly but charged me a ridiculous amount. But at least I had a car. Cap One doesnt care about you. They only want to make money and good luck if you run into problems. I’m dropping them and getting a card with travel benefits that actually benefit me.
Can I give a zero rating
Can I give a zero rating? I specifically used all my points and paid an additional $500 for first class because I knew I was most likely going to have to change my flight, it specifically said with my first class purchase there was no charge to change my flight. Now that I’m in the situation I anticipated, and need to change my flight they are charging another $450. I escalated it, got a supervisor that I could barely understand, and no wiggle room! Warning to people using this service, don’t fall for flying first class to avoid a charge to change your flight! It’s 100% falsely advertised!
If I could give this 0 I would
If I could give this 0 I would. Tried booking travel 3 times and got "oops something went wrong" error every time. No explanation, no suggestions-nothing. Called customer service. They tried booking same itinerary and several minutes later told me there was no inventory available. Also stated that I must book directly with airline and can't use travel credits I have. Complete waste of time!
Do not use Capital One travel
Do not use Capital One travel. They do not transfer payements and travel voucher credits to vendors. Ended up paying for a rental car 2 times because 1 time was with Points from Capital one and the Annual travel credit voucher and then Hertz for the actual rental car because Hertz stated that they never received the payment from Capital One. Stay with American Express. Issue is still not resolved after 8 hours on the phone and multiple departments "trying to help"
Capital One Travel cancelled one of my flights to extort me for $1,000.
I booked a roundtrip on Capital One Travel for August 2026. I booked this trip in September 2025. First of all, let me tell you: they literally rebooked my trip *five times* between September 2025 and March 2026 - which was absolutely insane in and of itself. But today, 11 June 2026, they emailed me and told me "one of your four legs was cancelled and we are not going to rebook it. Your only option is cancellation."
Great. Mind you, I booked my flights for $750 US, and the prices are now $1,750 US (+$1,000).
I will NEVER BOOK WITH Capital One Travel AGAIN. AVOID!!
DO NOT USE CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL- have…
DO NOT USE CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL- have been a cap one credit card holder for 25 years. Used travel for first time this morning. Purchased Museum tickets then thought after the fact that they were expensive. (I am elderly so a bit slow) Immediately contacted travel and they will not price match. Cost of tickets $70 for 2- CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL $142 for exactly the same tickets. Complete Fraud!
I reserved a rental car with myself as…
I reserved a rental car with myself as primary driver and added a second driver to the reservation using the Plus sign (+) Add Driver option. When I showed up at the counter, Budget, I was informed that there is no additional driver on the reservation but I can add one for additional $175. When I contacted CapitalOneTravel, the rep talked to me like I was crazy to think that Add Driver option on their website actually means to add another driver to the reservation. She was indifferent to my complaint and frustration and did not offer any kind of remedy. I will never use this service again.
Terrible Experience — Booked and paid by Capital One, but: No Room, No Help and No Refund
Very disappointing experience with Mondo House in Fiumicino. I booked and paid for a room through Capital One, but when I arrived there was no room available for me! The host was not there, only a janitor who could not speak English. I called the host, Mario, but communication was very difficult and he could not help me. Late at night, tired and with suitcases, I had to find another hotel by myself in Fiumicino.
Although I was promised a refund, Mondo House never returned my money despite several calls. I also called Capital One Travel customer service, explained the situation and they told me they would help me with the refund. I never received my money back, not mentioning the traumatic travel experience. I paid for a room I never received. I felt cheated and would absolutely not recommend this place. There are many better options near the airport. Capital One didn’t help, but the opposite.
There needs to be a zero star button
There needs to be a zero star button! Never use this service. Everything said in the reviews are true. I cannot believe how incompetent this agency is. It's not worth the extra points. I am considering a different travel card. Do better #capitolone. From the booking to cancellation to getting my refund back has been nothing but a pain in the you know what!
Capital One Travel prioritizes policy…
Capital One Travel prioritizes policy over actual customer service.
I booked through their travel portal expecting support if issues came up, but instead experienced endless transfers, scripted responses, and zero ownership from anyone involved. Even after the hotel itself approved a goodwill accommodation and was willing to move the reservation, Capital One Travel continued hiding behind process and third-party policies instead of helping solve the problem.
The entire experience made it clear that once something falls outside of the standard script, customer support has very little authority or willingness to advocate for the customer.
Ironically, the hotel showed far more empathy, flexibility, and problem-solving than the company advertising itself as the customer-facing travel service.
In my opinion, the points and occasional savings are absolutely not worth the tradeoff in customer service and flexibility. After this experience, I would strongly advise people to avoid booking through the Capital One Travel portal altogether and book directly with hotels whenever possible.
Capitol One Travel the WORST!!
Capitol One Travel is by far the absolute WORST ever!!!. I have been going back and forth with them for a refund for a flight not taken due to the death of my mother. TAP airlines. This has been going on for 3 MONTHS. I HAVE LOGGED IN 35 phone calls over these months and countless hours trying to get this refund that I am entitled to per law US 14CFR 260.4 and 260.5.
I call every week and it is something new and the same story! I have emailed them my mothers death certificate 3 TIMES! And then TAP airlines wanted proof it was indeed my mother, which it clearly states on the death certificate! So, I also sent in my birth certificate!! This has become beyond ridiculous! I am entitled to a refund and I am unable to request it myself from TAP air because it was book through a 3rd party, then being CAPITOL ONE TRAVEL.
CAPITOL ONE TRAVEL tells me the exact story every single time. "We have resubmitted the documents needed and TAP will get back to us with a resolution in 24-48 hours". ITS BEEN ALMOST 3 MONTHS OF THE SAME B.S! So, when does Capitol One actually protect their customer? When is enough...enough??
This would never happen with AMERICAN EXPRESS!
The point scam
This has been a very bad experience—a very easy way to lose your accumulated miles. They are not trustworthy; if you make a mistake with the date of a hotel reservation, you simply lose your miles—you cannot modify the booking. The hotel sends you back to Capital One, and the customer service department explains that it is the hotel's policy. They do not help the customer.
Looks like I'm in good company with…
Looks like I'm in good company with these reviews. "Cancel for any reason" and get "90%" of your booking refunded, if you purchase this "coverage" - ah, but didn't you know they tucked the details away that that doesn't include the seat selection and everything else. when all is said and done you actually get more more 50% of your money back. Oh and my favorite part was "what's the reason for cancelling?" "It says cancel for any reason, I need to cancel." I will never book through Capital One again, I hope the extra money you kept keeps your CEO warm at night.
What garbage
What garbage! Same old story she said he said and nothing solved for three days or going back and forth. Flight got canceled by again, no one taking accountability an I had to buy a ticket on a other airline, Flights reflected on capital one travel totally different than on Delta app, with? Safe to say .. Just refer to Delta app, least they'll be held responsible, in my case out of luck .. Delta denied responsibility for the cancelation but I honestly think that was error on their part for failing to connect me to my final destination with their constant flight change. End story, I'll book direct with airlines! Screw the 5x for the invaluable peace of mind.
Bad experience and wasted so much of…
Bad experience and wasted so much of time across multiple nights while they tried to resolve my issue, with no resolution. If possible always book with the airline instead.
