I scheduled a trip with CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL and paid for trip disruption. I had to cancel and was partially refunded but given a travel credit for the second flight. When I got ready to reschedule I... Voir plus

I booked a one night stay at the Miami…
I booked a one night stay at the Miami Airport Hotel through Capital One Travel since I had a credit to use. I did not have any problems with the booking itself, the reception at the hotel was very accommodating and allowed us to check in early at no extra charge. The hotel room albeit convenient being at the airport was very outdated, not very clean, the shower leaked and had sporadic hot water for showers. The morning we checked out, there was not enough water pressure to flush the toilet and everyone had to take a pressure less cold shower. I am not sure why Capital One would have such a horrible hotel listed on their travel site! I will definitely do more research in the future when using Capital One Travel.
I booked a rental and they had no cars…
I booked a rental and they had no cars and I had to call and get it taken off they don’t wait til it’s verified and so the next day I rebooked and kept the car 1 day and enterprise have gave a paper and they are verifying that I only kept the car one day and they are saying that it’s on them and not there end so I know it’s cheaper through them but definitely not worth it if you have to keep it less days or don’t go get it they are still charging you for it and holding the process out for u to still have to pay and be accountable for something u never used.
#neveragain it’s been going on since the 5 th and today they gave me a number that don’t work
I’ll just book through my other card
Capital One doesn’t care if a war has started. They’ll keep your money
Booked Emirates flights and hotel for my honeymoon to the Maldives through capital one travel. Itinerary included an overnight layover in Dubai. Obviously given the current situation, I don’t feel safe flying through Dubai this weekend.
Emirates official policy at the moment is to provide a full refund with not cancelation fee for flight through Mar. 31st.
Capital One travel on the other hand is charging a $600 cancellation fee despite Emirates policy which is such a joke.
Lesson learned I guess. Even if a war breaks out, Capital One will hold on to your money. I’ll be booking direct from now on.
Cancelation due to unsafe weather conditions.
I booked one night at Bavarian Lodge in Leavenworth, WA, using Capital One Travel. The morning of my stay I received travel/ weather advisories that indicated only emergency travel should be conducted on the route I needed to take due to a winter storm/ blizzard causingunsafe conditions. I called the property and explained this, asking for a cancelation waiver. Steve (9:25am on 3/10/26) indicated it was the decision of the 3rd party to approve a waiver. I called Capital One Travel (Rachel 9:30a 3/10/26) and they said it was Bavarian Lodge's decision. Someone lied. And no one was concerned. Terrible customer service on both ends. I was looking for a credit so I could rebook; however, now I will not stay at this property, and I am consideringcancelingmy CapitolOne creditcard. Shame on you both!
Major word of caution
Major word of caution: Capital One Travel significantly inflated my hotel room rate. I paid a total value of over $2,200 (points + cash) for two nights, only to find out the hotel’s direct rate was $299/night. When I reached out to resolve the $1,600 discrepancy, Capital One offered excuses rather than solutions, even suggesting I use my points on other things next time.
As a former long-time Amex Platinum member, I regret switching to Venture X. The lack of price transparency and the dismissive customer service are dealbreakers. I accept my mistake for not cross-referencing the price beforehand, but the level of price gouging here is predatory. Moving my business back to Amex.
The worst customer service
The worst customer service. I booked a flight through them wanting to give them a chance instead through American. Because I’m a Aadvantage member if I would have booked through American I would have received a travel credit but since I booked through capital one travel instead, capital one is not offering any kind of credit. NEVER BOOK WITH CAPTIAL ONE TRAVEL. Always book with the airline.
Horrible customer service
This has to be the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I will never use their portal again after a flight itinerary got completely changed and they wanted to charge $8000 to change it.
Book your flights directly through the airlines! Don’t use Capital one!
If I had an option less than 1 review, they would get it. I chose to use capital one for their flight rewards. I have flown on several trips through them without having to change or reschedule. However, I booked a $500 flight to Corpus Christi. We are no longer able to go. They told me, if you need to make changes or need a travel credit, contact the American airlines. The airline tells you to contact capital one. It’s a joke. American said they would have credited my trip had I booked with them directly. So now I’m screwed and lost money and all of my miles. Book with the airline directly. Don’t bother with capital one. Terrible service. I will never give them any of my business again!
phone issues
Booked a hotel. Added cancel for any reason insurance. Bad weather caused cancelled flight, had to cancel hotel. Website stated can not do online, must contact agent. Phone call answered with message that they were having phone issues. Kept calling for over 2 weeks, same message. Looks like I am out $$$
THEY KEEP TRANSFERING ME AND UNABLE TO…
THEY KEEP TRANSFERING ME AND UNABLE TO HELP. HORRIBLE
Mess with Expedia (capital one)
Capital One uses Expedia which has zero respect by any of the hotels it books. If I knew they were using them, I would not waste my points. A real mess for all bookings through them.
I would not use C1 Travel to book flights
I have been using Capital One travel for years, but not anymore.
I recently booked a flight on Fiji Airways using the C1 Travel portal. Flight alone was approx. $1,500. I could not choose seats and had to go directly through the airline for that, paying over $700 extra.
When I tried to make a change to the flight plan, I could not do it through the airline or the capital one portal. I had to call C1 support directly. All I wanted to do was move my outgoing flight out one day. They told me I only have 2 options. Capital One would charge me over $2,000 more to make a flight change or I could cancel and receive 80% refund.
When I called the airline they said if I had booked directly through them the change would have only cost me $175.
Customer Service could not provide any explanation and was very dismissive. Supervisor included.
Next time I will go directly through the airline and I will no longer use this card for travel.
Terrible experience
I booked through Capitol One travel for a flight on JetBlue. NEVER again. My seat selection never went through and I had to rebook the seat on JetBlue. Then there was a minor error with my reservation (a typo in a number). I spent an hour on hold with JetBlue to fix it, only for them to tell me it had to be corrected by Capitol One. I had them make the correction on the phone, and its still not fixed. This means calling "again!" Third time trying to get a simple change so I'll be able to check in for my flight. So basically, there is absolutely no benefit booking through Capitol ONE. Just cut out the middle man and book directly with the airline. Capitol One made it seem like, "if you book through us, you'll get more benefits." WRONG! You'll get more work to do. Beyond bad. If you want to get results here you go: Third-Party Escalation
If Capital One does not resolve your complaint internally, you can escalate the issue to external regulatory bodies: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB): You can submit a complaint online regarding financial services. OR Better Business Bureau (BBB): File a complaint on the Capital One BBB profile to request a response through their mediation channel. Companies do not want us reporting them! They deserve to have a spotlight on ripping people off!
Extremely limited routes for international travel
So silly - doesn't cover various major routes, eg. was unable to find a single flight from Nairobi to Washington DC and the agent said this was because they had no agreements on this route. Was about to get the Venture X travel card so at least I know to stay away!
DONT DO IT
Wow. I wish I read these reviews before trying to book a hotel because same. I made a date error and immediately tried to change it and they could do nothing. Disputed it with my credit card. Nothing. About $300 for 2 nights at a hotel I never stayed at.
Scam or Fraud???
Recently went to book a hotel in Vancouver BC using my Capital One miles. The Capital One price was more than 3 times the hotel's pricing on its website!! It appeared that it was true for all hotels in Vancouver.
Talked to Capital One travel to confirm.... It was confirmed!!!!
Cannot use travel portal to book flights for kids under 2
I got the Capital One Venture X card in November knowing we would be going to Disney in May so I put all of our spending on it to hit the 100k bonus and wrack up as many points as I could. This past weekend I started trying to book our flights through the portal and for 4 days I kept getting a message saying "uh oh something went wrong please search another flight". Other sites had this flight completely open and even the Capital One call center said it was available and they could help me book the trip but they couldn't tell me why I had an error. I finally realized my daughter, who is almost 2 and will be 2 for our trip, was being marked as a lap infant, though at no point did I select this or have the opportunity to change this. When I removed her from the booking it worked. After I called the call center again they told me my options were to book my entire party then call back and try to book my daughter separately. Absolutely not. The only other option that they suggested was to book on an outside site. Really. So I cannot use the $300 travel credit which is partly why I chose the Venture X over just the regular Venture card, knowing that we were taking this trip. I also will not be getting 5X miles at no fault of my own. This is insane that if you are trying to fly with a child under 2 it's just literally not possible to book through the portal in a way that any normal parent would be comfortable with. I can almost see how it would be difficult to book a lap infant but defaulting to a lap infant when I am actively trying to buy them a ticket makes no sense. They did give me a $100 credit but now that I see how ridiculous the portal was to use I'm not that excited about it.
I will never again book travel on Cap One
I will never book travel on Capital One Travel again. I made a small error when booking a hotel recently. I was looking at the wrong calendar, and got the dates off by 1 day. I immediately called Cap One Travel, and they were downright robotic in their insistence that they could not (would not) help me. They pointed me to the hotel, but of course, the hotel told me that they couldn’t make any changes because the booking was made through Capital One Travel, and only they could help me. Back and forth, back and forth. I’ve been a Cap One customer for more than 30 years; clearly loyalty means nothing. Do not book with them; they couldn’t care less about the human element of travel.
I use it for 100% of my travel.
I use Capital One travel for all of my flight bookings. They have a price match guarantee. Also if the price reduces on you flight within 10 days, they automatically give you a credit without you having to track it. When I have used their price match, it is easy and fast with their agents.
No benefits to booking a trip with…
No benefits to booking a trip with capital one travel. I am an American Airlines credit card holder and decided to book via capital one for the benefits they say you get. Don’t bother. If you need to make changes or need a travel credit, they tell you to contact the airline. The airline tells you to contact capital one. It’s a joke. American said they would have credited my trip had I booked with them directly. So now I’m screwed and lost money and all of my miles. Book with the airline directly. Don’t bother with capital one. Terrible service.
