NEVER USE CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL!
NEVER USE CAPITAL ONE TRAVEL!! The website is horrible to navigate online and on the phone. I booked a $600 ticket on Dec 31st, had to cancel due to an issue that came up and they kept $150 of the $600 ticket. Never recieved an email confirmation. And the money only processed on the Jan 3rd so I wasn’t even sure it went through properly. Not to mention I called and asked for a one-time courtesy refund and they said they can’t “overwrite” policy. Ridiculous. I get better refunds using Bookings/Agoda/the actual airline companies. I thought Capital One would offer better ticket protections but they do not. It is NOT worth it!! They tried to offer me a $50 credit instead. Absolutely not. I’d rather have my full $158 dollars refunded.
STAY AWAY!
STAY AWAY!! Worst experience I have ever had. Price on their site was $411 however because I was using my cancellation flight credit to book, I had to actually pay 4.80 more. My flight credit was $565.40!!! What a rip off!! I had to pay $159.20 more than others buying the same ticket. Then the person couldn’t help me with my seat assignments even though the price I paid included picking a seat. After 50 minutes on the phone with them, I now have to make a call to the airline to choose my seats. I will NEVER use them again and the additional amount they charged me on my capital one credit card will be the last charge they make. Horrible customer service!! Don’t sell flights if you can’t offer full service. I should have booked directly with the airline. Hard and costly lesson for me.
Heartless Trash Service
If I can give them negative stars, I would! They are unkind agents. I kindly asked for a refund for cancellation due to my 1 year old daughter getting sick and they denied my request. Absolute thieves
This was the worst travel agency…
This was the worst travel agency experience I’ve ever had. TAP Airline canceled my flight, so I requested credit to book with another airline. After spending 45 minutes on the phone, I was told they’d email the airline to confirm the credit and that I’d get a confirmation email within 24 hours. Four days later, I called back only to find out I had to contact the airline directly. Another 35 minutes on the phone with Gem and Josh (a supervisor in Costa Rica) got me nowhere, as they were unwilling to help. I like Capital One, but not Capital One Travel, and I’m now reconsidering my need for the Venture X.
Don’t ever try to book a fly with…
Don’t ever try to book a fly with capital one travel is a horrible company horrible customer service and if you book a flight with capital one travel don’t think you’re gonna make it cause it’s just a scam .
Actual price was four times what I was quoted
Had several good experiences before, but this one was very bad. I booked a rental car for $150, detailing that I would return it in a different location. When I picked up the car they charged me an extra $432.50 for a different dropoff, international fee and airport fee. And when I called customer service they said to take this up with the rental agency! They definitely should have known and fairly quoted me ALL charge so that I would have been able to find another rental car.
I'm going to dump this credit card and…
I'm going to dump this credit card and go with Chase Sapphire even if it costs 1k a year. First problem is the web app which doesn't work well consistently especially outside the USA and from a usability perspective it really needs work. Second problem is customer service is not USA based. Heavy accents and lots of background noise make it difficult to get things done. Third problem is they now use Expedia for booking hotels and you aren't going to get the same level of attention from the hotel as going directly to the hotel website directly nor will you get your 5x the miles either. Fourth problem are the airport lounges which are very nice with decent food and PACKED all the time especially the one at Dulles Airport. Fifth problem is that they removed many of the benefits and seem like they don't really want to give us our rewards. I don't recommend this card for international travel.
Horrible
Horrible! Booking with capitalonetravel has been thee worst booking agent experience in all of my frequent travels. My preference is to book with airlines directly but capitalone now requires booking with them to use the annual credit. I happily booked and thought things would be smooth but that could not be further from the truth once hit with a flight change, not once but twice. Each time there was nothing but confusion between capitalone and the two airlines handling my flights. The confusion resulted in multiple hour long phone calls and travel anxiety because the capitalone agents were some of the most incompetent and unhelpful people one could come across. Even after repeatedly explaining that the airline is saying there is a ticket issue they would attempt to refer you back to the airline telling you to contact Capitalone. After my last around and around with a dismissive supervisor who insisted my ticket was fine and would receive a reissued ticket. I received a message saying the reissue department can't reissue the ticket. Which means there was issue like I said days ago. Now once again back to square one and needing to call again to get a credit or new ticket for the third time. I have a new credit coming next week and I actually dread trying to use it after this current experience.
capitalone travel is a crime group
I just don't understand how capital one can run a service like this awful! Capitalone is a very strong and respected by a lot of people because of their excellent service, but this travel service is just a disaster.
I booked a flight, and then I need to change the date. first I saw the same flight available on the new date so I tried to do it online, then it didn't allow me and asked me to call them. Then I called, then it opened a box of worms... They said the flight was not available. I said I saw it online, it was still online when I was calling. They said I must've see it from airline, not from c1 travel website... Every single question, no matter how common it was, they needed me to hold for "2-3" minutes, which actually were 10-15 minutes, then "no" to me. then I asked another questions, then they held me for another "2-3" minutes, then after a few questions, 1 hour passed, and nothing got solved nothing got cleared. They asked me to contact american airline but AA said I booked from agent so I had to contact c1 travel. so on and so forth. C1 just not doing any help to me. I tried to call several times and check to see if I could talk to someone who really knew the rules. but no... even their supervisor said same thing. just no, nothing, none.
Update: later they found a ticket, it was $700 from the airline. They said they could change it for me, but I needed to pay the difference. And the price they had was 1800... plus change fee 150.
Yes, they forfeited over 1000 from me!
Capital One Travel complete Ripoff
I booked a trip through Capital One travel in September 2025. Due to the government shutdown my trip was cancelled. Delta gave me a full refund. Capital One Travel is keeping almost $70 and I even purchased their flight disruption which enabled me to a full refund. They are a complete rip off and I would advise people not to book through them.
Difficult time resolving anything…
Difficult time resolving anything through customer service if you need help with your flights. Booked through Capital One travel and agency says check with the airline because they can't do anything. Airline says its an agency problem. Always a back and forth.
I regret using Capital One Travel despite the travel credit provided with Venture X holders. Not worth it, just book directly with the airlines. Capital One customer service: do better.
Scammer not customer service i am…
Scammer not customer service i am getting better from the vendor,,
Beware of this travel site!
I booked a hotel through Capital One Travel for last weekend, and when I checked out, I noticed the hotel receipt was $95 less than what Capital One Travel charged me. To make sure I wasn’t mistaken, I called the hotel directly, and they confirmed their price was correct—meaning Capital One Travel overcharged me.
I then called Capital One Travel’s customer service, expecting they’d make things right. Instead, they told me there was nothing they could do because I had already agreed to pay when I booked, even after I provided proof of the hotel’s actual rate. The lack of accountability and support was incredibly frustrating.
I will never use Capital One Travel again. If you value transparency and fair billing, I strongly suggest booking directly with hotels or using another travel site.
Convoluted Customer Service
I booked a car reservation for my trip to Cleveland and unfortunately needed to return to CA early due to a family emergency. When returning the vehicle 3 days early to Enterprise, I asked about a partial refund due to the emergency and they said I'd need to reach out to Cap One. Long story shorter, I logged a dispute the following day and it's become very complicated since CapOne CS is separate from COT, then you throw Hopper into the mix and who knows how to navigate this matter. I acknowledge it was a non-refundable reservation yet had other merchants be more compassionate when an emergency arose in the past. Certainly won't use COT in the future.
Freezing Italy
Booked villa in Bellagio through CapOne Travel for Wonderful Italy Casa Elena:
NO communication from host until the day before check-in when after several emails, they requested passport information from our group. Unit was booked months in advance. The day of check-in we made several calls to the host and booking agent - who ultimately put us in touch with the host - to confirm someone would meet us at the villa upon our arrival in 2 hours! We arrived at the villa to find it was a complex with several entrances and the host, again, was unresponsive to calls for directions to the apt. After several text msgs and lots of searching on our own we found the correct entrance but not the rep. We were asking everyone in the area if they were the host for Wonderful Italy with no luck. Sent another text and heard the 'ping' of my text alert with some random guy at the edge of the property with his nose in his phone oblivious to us looking for him. After we directly approached him and asked he confirmed that he could show us the property. He brought us to the door, handed us the keys and promptly left with no overview.
After sunset we learned the thermostat was merely a prop and there was no central heat in the apt. There were instead wall units in the bedrooms which were totally ineffective! We reached out to host again with no help aside to confirm that the units were on (they were). After several requests to have the heat addressed and falling temps the responses stopped from host. Two seniors in our group struggled with health issues after a full night with no heat and the next morning we all packed up to leave. The host then said that someone would come to check the heat. After our checkout we received an email stating that the heat worked fine and we must have turned them down (we didn't) and no amends would be made for our lousy stay.
Book elsewhere.
Never rent a car from SIXT on Capital…
Never rent a car from SIXT on Capital One Travel.
In September 2025 rented from SIXT trusting that Capital One would not work with them unless they were a reputable company.
My experience was as follows:
1. They refused to rent one of the two reserved cars to my group because the reservation was made under a different name, even though both drivers on the reservation were present with photo ID. Their offered resolution was to check out the cars to us at a new rate, nearly twice the originally reserved rate.
2. They checked out a car to me that had a flat tire.
3. When I returned to the office and reported the flat tire, the SIXT agent checked out a different vehicle to me. Unfortunately, the second vehicle had a parking slip meant to allow me to exit the parking garage (Union Station, Washington DC) but when I got to the gate I found the slip was not validated and it would cost me $16 to exit the garage. The parking attendant at the gate told me that happens all the time.
4. When I returned to the office, the SIXT agent expressed no surprise or regret for the inconvenience, they simply validated the parking slip.
5. When I returned the car at Washington Reagan International Airport, the SIXT agent there looked over the car and told me it was ok. However, 10 days later I received an email from SIXT stating that there was a 10cm scratch on one of the fenders and asking me if I had taken pictures or video to confirm the scratch was present when I checked out the vehicle. I responded that I had not taken pictures or video, but disputed that the damage had occurred while I had the vehicle. Note: the picture they sent of the damage was so poorly lit, it was impossible to see any damage at all, and the time stamp was from several hours after I dropped off the car.
6. SIXT responded a week later stating that I owed them $532.50 for the damage. I responded to SIXT asking them to provide a time stamped photo showing the car without damage in that spot from before my rental period. I have not received a reply as of the writing of this review.
7. At this point, I called Capital One Travel to complain and was told by the agent there that "SIXT does this all the time, and that they didn't recommend renting with SIXT." This came as a surprise to me, as they are partnered with SIXT.
8. I googled SIXT scam, and discovered that there was a class action law suit that was settled by SIXT in May 2025 for 11 million dollars, where SIXT agreed to stop the practice of charging customers for damage without providing reasonable proof the customer was responsible for the damage.
My conclusion is, do not rent from SIXT, ever. And if you choose to use Capital One Travel, please exercise extreme caution, as they do not hold themselves accountable for the service/business practices of their partner companies.

Car rental
I had previously paid for a car rental reservation in ATL Airport. When I arrived at the rental car location they informed me that they had no cars. I called COT, and asked if they could get me another car at another rental agency? They replied" we'll refund your money and cancel your reservation". I said no don't cancel my reservation yet. I asked if the reservation would be the same amount as we'll add the car type? He replied no. I asked why not? He said we can find you something else. Long story short, the car rental agent Ms. Kim saw how frustrated I was and came to my rescue. I will never ever, ever, ever use this agency again. PERIOD!!!!
⭐ Review of Capital One Travel
⭐ Review of Capital One Travel – They Ruined My Dream Wedding Week
I trusted Capital One Travel to help me plan the most important week of my life—my dream destination wedding. Instead, they delivered one of the most stressful and disappointing travel experiences I’ve ever had.
I booked a specific room type—the Producers Suite—months in advance. This room was the one thing I truly wanted for my wedding week. But when I arrived, I was given a Director’s Suite instead, which not only wasn’t what I booked, but also cost $600 more than the Director’s Suite I already had reserved separately. Because of their mistake, I lost over $1,000 between room costs and insurance—and still didn’t get the room I selected.
When I tried to resolve it, I was told that according to them I booked the wrong room. But they could provide no proof of this—no contract, no screenshot, no confirmation showing I chose a Director’s Suite. My confirmation clearly says “Suite,” but the resort doesn’t even have a room just called “Suite.” Yet somehow, it was still my fault. I was expected to just “trust” the agent because, in her words, she was always right.
Instead of getting the room I paid for, or even a real apology, I was given a $600 travel credit—which doesn’t come close to the $1,000+ I lost and the emotional stress they caused during what was supposed to be the happiest week of my life.
Capital One Travel ruined a part of my wedding experience that I will never get back. The room I dreamed of spending my wedding week in was taken from me because of their error, and all I got in return was blame, no accountability, and a room I never booked.
Thank you, Capital One Travel, for making my wedding week unforgettable—for all the wrong reasons.
Do not use capital one travel.
Unfortunately, I had to click the one star instead of no stars for a review. My experience with capital one travel has been nothing less than impossible. There is no customer service. There is no loyalty to customers that have been with the company for 20+ years. I booked travel accommodations through one travel for a trip to California. We tried extensive measures to try and move the reservation to four weeks later and have found that is next to impossible. I am losing all the points that I used to book this trip and the money associated with it.
Do not use capital one travel for any reason. Book directly through The a hotel book directly through airline and stay away from capital one travel.
My flight to San Juan Puerto Rico was ruined
My flight to San Juan Puerto Rico was changed by Capital One travel after it was booked and they refused to change the flight to one where family members could fly together on the same plane. They also refused to cancel the flight and refund.
