Horrible experience booking with Hertz. Cap one charged prepayment of $90 a day (35% over what it stated online) and offered no invoice - Hertz says Cap one has it-? Now extra charges are coming in for gas and tolls. What a rip off - sky high rates hidden when you book - after hours spent trying to get an invoice, one is never forthcoming even after seven business days. BUYER BEWARE!!

Capital One Travel is a scam. Their "freeze the price" service should be considered a scheme. You freeze the price, but not the fare or the flight availability, meaning they're freezing nothing. You pay for the service, and they do literally nothing. If you miss the deadline to buy the ticket, they charge you the 'frozen price' service fee. If they no longer have the flight and the price changes, they say you can refund the 'fee.' This means they have no risk. They can't actually save that price for you; they're just hoping you'll miss the date to buy the ticket so they can charge you. But if you decide to buy, they simply say the price is no longer available and offer to refund the service fee. It's a scam, pure and simple. This costed me 600 dollars (difference in price of two flight tickets), I called them and they offered a good will $50 bucks. This report is my good will gift one-time gift to them.

Decided to try Capital One Travel and will never make that mistake again. Impossible to get any customer service if anything needs adjusted.

Worst experience I've ever had booking travel through a credit card company.

I booked a room in Las Vegas for some employees who were coming out there to work with me. The employee's name that the room was under wasn't coming anymore, so I called Capital One Travel to change the name on the reservation. They spent a week telling me to keep calling in every day, and then the day before the trip they told me that they couldn't do it. I told them that nowhere during the booking process did it say I couldn't change the name, and in fact, there was a big button to make modifications (upon clicking, it told me to call them). Custom service said that was "just a mistake and the button shouldn't be there." I had to throw away a $200 reservation and book it through someone else last minute. Absolute garbage service and will never use again.

Capital One just a word of warning if you use Capital One Travel. Expect to pay over and above what your rental car receipt says. I used them to book a rental car for one week. They charged my Capital One card $499.30 but my rental receipt was for $358.43, which included charges and tax. When I called Capital One Travel about the $140 difference, the explanation they gave was that receipt was a base cost and the $140 was for taxes and charges. They can’t show me the breakdown of “their” taxes and charges. So, after having my CapOne card for years, I’ll be shopping around. Capital One Travel -

Absolutely terrible service from Capital One Travel! When you prepay a bookings for a hotel, and that hotel is oversold...good luck getting a refund from Capital One Travel. I've spent more time trying to get my money back than my flight from San Francisco to Chicago! Even after 4 calls to Capital One Travel, disputing the charge with Capital One Bank along with multiple calls with them, I still don't have my money back! Absolutely ridiculous!

My experience with capital one travel was the worst experience. I booked a hotel using their app on my phone, I thought I selected the right location but completely wrong location on the other side of the country. I reviewed the itinerary before confirming, didn't see the location listed in it so, everything looked correct to me. Confirmed the booking then noticed in the confirmation it was the wrong location. I was on the phone with capital one travel for hours trying to get it fixed, but since I didn't buy the cancellation insurance they basically said I was out of luck and all of the miles I had been racking up for a year were gone. The absolute worst customer service as well. They speak to you like they are robots and treat you like you're non-human. One silly little mistake could cost you all of your points.

Never book capital one travel. They are deceitful and rob you. They are not honest in their reviews. They are glorified scam artists

Horrible company and experience. They wouldn’t let me change my flights due to the CATEGORY 5 HURRICANE barreling down on Florida. I canceled my flight on October 8th and after almost a week the cancellation still didn’t go through so I called to try and do it over the phone and I got no where. Don’t get their credit card for travel. I’m out nearly $300 because of their BS policies. The woman who I spoke to was combative and I am so upset. Disgusting, money hungry company.

Less than "0" if that were possible. I booked a stay at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Resort Sand Key for September 27-30, 2024. I attempted to reschedule the reservation after speaking with someone at the hotel prior to the impact of Hurricane Helene on Clearwater Beach. After Capital One verbally confirmed the rescheduled dates I was told on a follow-up call October 9th "Sorry you will have to deal directly with the hotel". The hotel had no record of Capital One attempting to reschedule the dates and did not charge for the stay because they were evacuated and closed. Booking Hotel Stays With Capital One Travel?; Buyer Beware!! #Capital One Points & Travel is a "Third Party" joke. If anything out of the ordinary (Like a Hurricane) happens you will lose your points and money. This lesson cost me 49,478 points and $564.11 cash. I hope this message saves you from making the same mistake I did. ***UPDATE*** 6+ Calls and more than 2 hours of collective on-hold time and they still haven't resolved it! This is after I provided documentation from the hotel that no charges were ever billed to #CapitalOneTravelReviews. Unbelievable!!

I booked flight through capital one travel portal and I also took insurance extra for flight delay or canceled. Insurance said upto 5000 usd rebooking for flight. Unfortunately florida gets hurricane on Oct 8 2024. And whole orlando airport got closed. It's category 5 hurricane. Hurricane Milton.
So I booked another flight from Jacksonville airport back home to boston. Capital one mobile app didn't show any update or any option for another booking. It was emergency, can you imagine hurricane category 5 and while airport shutdown, whole city shutdown. Capital one travel customer service said, I didn't buy insurance, I bought service through Capital one travel agency. They changed extra money how expedia.com or any American website ask you at the end , do you want to pay extra for peace of mind.
Now Capital one refused to reimburse because I didn't use their website to re book flight for same day or next day. However whole airport is not functioning and whole city shut down. And agent said, I should have called travel customer service first and they could have done something. So I asked what are the options for this situation. He can refund me original booking but he can't do anything about insurance because it's "service " they charged me for. And basically he said, because airport is not working, I can die their with my family and nothing he can do, only option is, I re book another flight from same airport but there is no flight going anywhere. This is how they scam in name of insurance/ service.

They are a terrible agency that ruin capital one’s brand image. My flight got cancelled, the airline is telling me to get the refund from capital one travel as they are the agency. Capital One travel is just refusing to give my money back. Total scam!

Call centers are frustrating despite friendly agents. Each call offers a different ticket policy explanation, causing confusion and inconvenience.

COT flexible tickets aren’t as flexible as they seem. I couldn’t modify my ticket, earning a 1000 credit that can’t be redeemed.

Agents are courteous but inconsistent. The reasons are unclear, wasting time and requiring repeated explanations.

Colombian agents are more knowledgeable and effective.

Booked flight through capital one travel with rewards and paid $206 for seats additional. Seats were cancelled by them according to American Airlines with NO notification through Capital one travel. When I called the day before the flight (2 months after I booked the flight) while trying to check in early through app I was made aware of the cancellation. When I called COT I was told AA didn’t accept the method of payment through them?? AA says not true that they in fact cancelled them. Never once was sent an email making me aware of the cancellation by COT nor given refund of my seats that were charged to my account. Wasn’t until I called their bluff that they offered me refund! Will NEVER book through them again!

I had a medical conference in Phoenix, AZ and I made my hotel reservations through Capital One Travel a week prior. I paid in full and headed to my conference. I arrived at the hotel and the front desk could not find my reservation and were fully booked. The travel agent called the hotel only to hear the same thing. Capital One Travel had no acceptable alternatives and I was left to make my own accomodations. I just wanted to get in my room after a long flight and find something to eat. Instead, I found myself hungry, tired, sitting on a bench with my luggage and approached by a man on the street asking me if I had found Jesus. If the error had been on my end, I'm sure they would have made me pay for it. 100% their fault and all they offered was a reimbursement. I will never use Capital One Travel ever again.

Their cancellation policy is deliberately deceptive. Make sure you read the fine print very carefully. We will be canceling our cards and will never use this company again.

As a loyal Capital One customer with substantial funds, I chose to book my travel through Capital One Travel for the convenience of having access to a dedicated travel agent. I expected the agency to prioritize my interests and ensure the best travel experience possible, along with providing the necessary customer service to handle any changes. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing.

Capital One Travel completely altered my flight itinerary without my consent—adding an extra stop and extending my total travel time from about 20-23 hours to over 30 hours! This significant change was made without any approval from me, the paying customer.

When I contacted their support team, they claimed they had emailed me twice—which I never received—and assumed my lack of response meant I accepted the changes. This is completely unacceptable and reflects shady business practices. No company should assume consent from silence, especially when it involves critical travel plans.

The representative I dealt with showed little care for customer service, offering a level of service far below what I expected. If you're considering booking flights or travel packages through Capital One Travel, I strongly urge you to reconsider. This experience has been a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and avoid using Capital One Travel.

Rating this after multiple problems over a year with Capital One Travel Portal, specifically for booking flights.
Wrong information is pretty common, even on flights I've booked. For instance, it will say refundable only for me to realize that it was incorrectly listed on the website. It will say a flight is available but once I try to book it, it will be unavailable.

I've never had these experiences over years of using Expedia and Priceline. The only reason I even look at the capital one travel portal is because I have the Venture X card.

I have to call support so often and lately have had unpleasant and rude experiences.
