Long time Carbonite User
I have been using Carbonite for many years. I have gone through several PC's built by my son and store bough. Carbonite has consistently brought all of my most important files, music and written to a new PC.
Tonight's automatic back up is reassuring of Carbonite keeping my data safe and secure.

Easy to back up and restore your hard drive data
Carbonite makes it very easy to automatically back up my PC, and if necessary recover individual files or an entire hard drive. Set up is fairly quick and easy. I have had the misfortune of having several hard drive crashes over the ling time I've had Carbonite, and in every case I have been able to recover all of my data sucessfully.

While it is nice to have a remote save of your work, the cost has increased enough to make you look for cheaper alternatives

Carbonite Saved a Textbook Manuscript!
I am a speech-language pathologist and Professor Emeritus who writes textbooks (7 so far). I rely on Carbonite to be my off-site backup for all of my manuscripts.
In about 2015, Microsoft Word did an update one night, and the next day there was NOTHING on my computer. Also, for some unknown reason, there was nothing on my external hard drive. I contacted Carbonite and they were able to retrieve everything on the book manuscript that I had worked on. Thank God for Carbonite!!
