I ordered a stand for the lathe I had just purchased on line from Charnwood. It was delivered promptly and on time. I was pleased with the robustness and quality of the product. It was easy to assemble and totally fit for purpose.

The four pronged drive is superbly designed and manufactured, ideal for when a stub centre doesn’t drive well enough.
The standard of machining is superior to some of the other pronged drives available. At a competitive cost the product was well packaged, arrived undamaged and in a good time frame. A must when a positive drive is essential.

Order received as requested. Accurate and am testing the oil as a rust preventative.

I can only give 3 stars due to the 3 issues I had with my machine.
First, I ordered a bundle deal and only received the machine with out the extra items. I can accept that as human error and the extra items were dispatched promptly.
Second, while assembling the machine I found one of the guide bearings was missing, it hadn't fallen out in transit and wasn't in the box. Again new parts sent but couldn't use it over the Easter break.
Third, once I'd fitted the missing bearing and tried to start the machine it wouldn't run. Checked the fuse, plug, etc. then checked the safety switches on the door. Turns out the top door wasn't engaging the switch and I had to manually manipulate it to make it contact properly.
My first few cuts seem accurate and straight but the poor QA means I can only give 3 stars. Surprising for a company of Charnwood's reputation.

Delivery on time and good quality product

Made an online order for a drum sander on the Monday, had a call from Charnwood on Tuesday, asking when I wanted delivery. Agreed delivery on the Thursday. Delivered on the Thursday, wow. Solid machine, 5 years warranty. Well done Charnwood. I know where I will be shopping for tools and machinery from now on.
