I had a bad experience that I think is…
I had a bad experience that I think is like many others here. I signed up and then my account got hacked. Some scammer must have cracked my password with some kind of algorithm. Anyhow this person replaced my picture with an older man's picture and was using my account to prey on older women. This happened when I was out of town for a couple weeks and not checking the site. When I logged in and saw that my account was being used to message all these older women who I had no interest in, I quickly changed my password and notified Christian Mingle that an unethical person had hacked into my account and sent out false messages in my name. I received no response back from them as if they did not care that a scammer and predator was using their site. They completely ignored the situation. So then these older women were sending me messages, so I replied to all of them and explained that someone had hacked into my account and that any message they received from my account was actually from a scammer. I felt that was the ethical thing to do to let these women know that the messages they had received were not from me and were not genuine. I feel like CM should have had enough interest in the safety of its members to send something out to them as well. Then, without any communication CM suddenly shut down my account. I imagine that one of the women who had been messaged by the scammer who hacked my account complained, which I do not blame them for doing. But again, I had already reached out to CM and reported the hacker and asked for guidance about what to do. It seemed like a really inept and noncommunicative way to handle the situation. I had been on their site for months and had not met a single real woman. I then signed up with another site and met multiple real women in that time frame. Something is wrong with how they do business.
So many negatives
This site is FULL of negatives. I have been on it for three months and want to caution everyone I can.
Start with the amount of scammers who are not using real profiles and are looking to get you to give them money or to launder money through you. I have been approached by 6 of them in the last two months. Sadly, CM can’t really do much to stop it because the con artists use pics and profiles that seem real.
Next up is the advertising con that you can use it for free, but are not told that you can’t see all the pictures or respond until you pay up. Just be honest and say we have to pay, ChristianMingle. Don’t deceive people that they can do much of anything with a free account. Honesty would be so much more attractive on a Christian site.
Let’s move on to the tech glitches. I PAY for the service but I more often than not do not get to USE the service because I get, “we are experiencing network problems.” If you contact service, expect it to be at least 2 days until your get a response, longer depending on what you have contacted them about. I have needed to contact them for three things in these three months and the minimum time for an email response to start the resolution was more than 24 hours.
On the technical side, if you want to update pictures as you acquire new ones of yourself, your new uploads won’t show for a minimum of 24 hours. Hope you didn’t delete all others to upload all new ones! No pics to show??? Seems to be so. They stipulate right on the site that any changes take 24 hours to approve and if you rearrange the pics, it will add another 24 hour period for each change. At LEAST they are screening for inappropriate pics since it is a Christian site. That is one major positive to the waiting time.
Move on to the matching.
It’s poor. Don’t rely on that. It’s based on things that really have little to do with compatibility. You’ll have to pour through pages and pages of profiles to find people you are interested in.
Last but not least, the pool of eligible, quality singles is slim, even if you expand your radius to 200 or more miles. It isn’t as bad as eharmony or Christian cafe, but for the price, one would hope to find SOME potential candidates.
It may be worth the risk if it feels like about a hundred bucks isn’t much to throw away if at the end of three months you’re just going to cancel and go back to waiting on the Lord to bring someone to your door.
For no reason just like many others I…
For no reason just like many others I was suspended and they will probably use my pictures, I want them to delete my account. Can't recommend anyone to sign up there. Support is not answering me.
THEY REFUSE TO DELETE YOUR PROFILE!!
I joined a couple weeks ago. I decided I wanted to either put my account on break or delete it. When I was trying to go through that process, all of a sudden my password would not work and I also could not use the "forgot password" option because all of a sudden I couldn't "authenticicate" my email address!! THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM! Stay far away! When I contacted the company and told them to delete my profile because I could not access my own account anymore, this is what they said,
"Thank you for your message.
You requested that we delete the personal information we have collected from you. After reviewing your request, we have not identified any personal information about you that we maintain and control that is subject to a right to deletion.
Any personal information about you that we retained is outside the scope of the right to deletion or is subject to a deletion exception under applicable law. If you believe this finding is incorrect, you may reply to this email with a cover note explaining why you believe the company should reconsider your request.
We thank you for your understanding.
Best wishes,
Andy Austin,
Your Christian Mingle Customer
They are stealing our information and then lock you out of your account! This is criminal! I'm contacting a lawyer and starting a class action lawsuit.
Horrible business model
This entire website is paid. Sure you an create an account but if you get a match... You can't even message them. You have to pay in order to message. They should turn this into Bumble with features unlocked behind a paid wall, not messaging locked behind a paid-wall.
It's crazy that they make you pay top dollar for the website and app but the UI/UX is outdated... Looks like wannabe MySpace.
Christian Mingle is poor value for the money
1. Half the ladies I contact are scammers, so might not even be females.
2. Their Help section is a joke. Its chat option is a bot that asks for your phone number and then disappears indefinitely.
Its “contact us option “ let’s you type them a message, but when you click on Send, it won’t send. Instead, it says to Retry by tapping on the message, but after at least four tries, it still never sent.
3. The website is super slow, like 20 years ago internet speed slow.
3. Conclusion: poor value for the money spent, and does not come close to delivering what they promise and what a typical person would expect.
CM is NOT a true Christian dating site
CM is NOT a true Christian dating site. I would agree wholeheartedly, with the reviews on here, that Christian Mingle is a total scam and every single Christian should not waste their time there.
I wish more single Christian men would go to Christian Cafe or Christian Dating For Free (CDFF). The Christian Cafe site is not free, but they do offer a 10-day free trial. It's also much more affordable and it's truly a Christian dating site. The CDFF site is free, but I've noticed the desktop version is much better than the app version which is loaded with annoying ads that you constantly have to X out of.
It's sad that there will always be the scammers (catfish) on these sites, but you have to be aware of this. Always be cautious and don't talk for months at at time before you meet in person or even video chat. This is how the catfish manipulate their prey. Watch a few episodes of the Catfish show on YouTube, if you don't know what I'm talking about.
My only let down with Christian Cafe and CDFF is that there are very few single Christian men in Washington state who are in my age range (50-55). I have to remind myself that if it's meant to be, it will be in God's timing. Not mine.
If I could give Christian Mingle zero…
If I could give Christian Mingle zero stars I would. Please, please do not sign up for this " Christian" dating site. In my experience it is not a safe website especially for women. They do not do background checks on the people who sign up. It's in their disclaimer, but unfortunately I missed it. Many of the people who seemed "interested" gave false information. They would write about being in the military, or on an oil rig. It's amazing how many men on this website have these jobs. I did the research myself on anything that would give me reason to be suspicious. Unfortunately I still have to finish out my subscription with them, but I am afraid to use the site because I can't trust if the person is legitimate or not.
Overpriced
Overpriced, bordering on scam. As most Christian dating apps completely useless. I'd pay 20 bucks for it per year, but no more.
A complete Scam
Do not pay to use this site. You can only message people if you pay, but there's nothing but spam on here. Also, no one is ever on. I have only talked to one person and she started a fight with me. What a waste of money! No one genuine. Just spam and probably cat fishers.
Dear christians please do not waste…
Dear christians please do not waste your time and sign up for this site ChristianMingles as the the site team are not Christians and use naive Christians or other people to make money and falsely accuse users.
On 27th December I decided to use opportunity of Internet and in the name of the Lord and Jesus look for a potential husband.
I uploaded my photo I was complemented much on my peer site. Then the ChristianMingle team offended my photo and asked a new one. I was wondering do they collect user photos and what data do they collect. Besides my user name I chose on the site was changed to theirs which start like Mingler_ and numbers and a letter.
Moreover, when I asked to explain on what grounds do they demand other photos if male users may use the same photos of similar quality and parameters. It is discrimination and I clearly stated that in the email adressed them. They refuse any explanation.
Then opon using the site the first day they constantly asked me to subscribe and pay 49$ a month just to write a letter to one male I found approrpriate out of 500 users. The way how asking money is appearing constantly on the site is disturbing.
The tech support is low quality. When used the site I was logged out twice and upon uploading a photo experienced site issues.
No one ever from the team replied.
Later on, I refuse to upload any other photo or share data with them. Then I noticed that in my place was sent 2 smiles to 2 men which I did not do. I assume it is the site admins who did it. Probably this is the way how they scam users that one user wink and the other is compelled to pay to react with a meaningful text. The site uses the very core human need of mutual communication and thus scamming people with good intentions.
Unfortunately I did not met my dream man because this is a scam site. They even did not give me an opportunity to contact at least one man. I am sure they earn money on manipulating with the user feelings and such a good heart as mine. Luckily I did not transfer any money to them as I did not feel my data will be safe with this team.
Good luck christians with finding your dream partner for a lifetime!
So very disappointed with this site
So very disappointed with this site. As a devout Christian I was hoping this site would allow me to link up with a solid Christian women, but after a three month subscription I cancelled. Every day I was getting messages clearly from Spam accounts and reached out to customer service via their online form and never heard back. After subscribing to match & eHarmony, it's clear how poor this dating site is compared to the big players.
This is one of the most dishonest…
This is one of the most dishonest dating sites I've been on. As a non paying member you see what appears to be a large number of messages sent to you that you can only access after paying a pretty pricey membership fee. Once doing that, you will see that they've grouped actual messages with smiles... that are usually sent from incomplete profiles or people (if they're real) living across the country.
The notification system on their app doesn't work and, even if it did, it wouldn't allow you to try and limit messages to things like... actual messages (no smiles), people with pics, people who live in your area... In fact, it would seem that Christianmingle has gone out of its way to make things easy for scammers and difficult for its subscribers.
They also try to get you to re-subscribe to have access to features your subscription supposedly pays for even though your subscription is still current. I am still asked to subscribe to see who has looked at my profile while my subscription is still current, but set not to review. I'm still waiting to hear back from a non existent customer service about this issue.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS FRAUDULENT SITE... and shame on you ChristianMingle for being so dishonest and deceptive in your practices.
Christianmingle is garbage
This has been my worst experience with online dating. I signed up on an impulse two days ago and saw that there was almost no one in my area (and of the ten within 10 miles, most hadn't been on in over a month - this is a suburb with quite a lot of Christians). I asked myself: wait, why did I just pay fifty bucks a month for this? Fifty bucks a month? That's a ridiculous price for what you get (you don't get much - there is very little you can do regarding your profile and again, few women online). I am about to refund but I know I won't get my money back (their terms and conditions on their siite make it very clear). That's terrible customer service and a bad way to run a dating platform. They should have a grace period of a couple days at least where you can get a refund, or at least a partial refund.
This website meets the definition of being a scam. It's the crappiest online dating experience I have had yet (and I have tried half a dozen sites and apps). Yes, you may wonder whether I acted smartly when I paid for it but does that matter? The site is way too overpriced for its paid content and does not offer refunds at all. That is simply a bad policy. It does nothing to please customers and sure it protects the company against losing money on refunds, but here are some better solutions: provide partial refunds or grace periods, or even better: work on making it so fewer people ask for refunds.
Spread the word: ChristianMingle is complete garbage.
