Worst customer service experience!

I dispute the statement that this matter was not resolved due to a lack of response from my side.
Please resend the specific email you allege was sent and not responded to, as no such communication was received by me.
For context, I have been actively attempting to resolve this matter and have emailed Clickatell on the following dates:

• 14/11/25
• 07/01/26 (three separate emails, including a letter attached)
• 09/01/26
• 12/01/26
• 29/01/26

The only correspondence received from Clickatell prior to your email today was an automated service rating request dated 10 January 2026, which contained no response, outcome, or resolution to the query raised.

Accordingly, the assertion that the query was not resolved due to non-response from my side is factually incorrect.
Please note that the documentation you are requesting today was already submitted on 07/01/26. Kindly confirm receipt of that email and attachment, and advise why it was not actioned at the time.

It is important to emphasise that our business cannot continue to operate effectively while being dependent on OTPs being sent to stores for routine access and operational functions. This has a direct and ongoing impact on our day-to-day operations and is the reason this matter has been escalated repeatedly.

Reliable company

There was a glitch in campaign management and I couldn't manage it. I reported the issue to the Clickatell support team. Turnaround times were very fast. They solved my problem in a short time. A reliable company.

Finally switched to their new platform

Finally switched to their new platform. Began with campaign manager which you have to click on 4 or 5 times before you can get to it.

Have scheduled messages that need to be redone but you are unable according to support to delete or modify scheduled messages. This is horrible design. You will basically send a scheduled message indefinitely. No idea who would think up such an idiotic concept of not being able to modify/delete a scheduled campaign.

They've stripped variable data out of the new platform. The only variable you can do is the name. They would have been better off just keeps the old platform.

CLICKATELL IS DISCONTINUING MAJOR FUNCTIONALITY

I integrated with Clickatell to send verification codes (OTPs) via their WhatsApp API. Meta made a minor update to their WhatsApp authentication code templates and rather than updating their API, Clickatell simply discontinued the product. WHAT FUNCTIONALITY WILL CLICKATELL CEASE SUPPORTING NEXT?

When I contacted Clickatell they first claimed that they never supported this functionality in the first place (a screenshot disproved this lie). Despite initially committing to resolve, they then reneged on the ETA and subsequently proceeded to ignore correspondence. Nearly 3-months has passed since I raised the issue and still no word from them (despite a call with Clickatell management @Adrien where they committed to resolving).

I am now left incurring the substantial dev costs of integrating with an alternative SMS/WhatsApp API.

@Janine @Adrien @ClickatellManagement would you care to please get back to me here? Meta makes periodic updates to their service, you would have known about this minor impending update for 6+ months but chose not to act. So that others are not left incurring similar cost/effort, what major functionality will you be discontinuing next?

Clickatell states; "You might find Utility templates to be a viable alternative route worth exploring" << I have already told Clickatell FOUR TIMES that if a user attempts to misrepresent an 'authentication' template as a 'utility' template Meta simply rejects the template. Clickatell has chosen to discontinue a core service, they were not willing to explore the prospect of an alternative solution (tagging me along for 4 months in the meantime). Now I am left to incur the substantial cost of reintegrating with another service provider. Avoid this business at all costs so that you avoid a similar fate.

Clickatell is Scam

This company is a scam, they have no phone number for customer service, do not respond to any inquiries via their support channel. I have sent multiple emails about the products I purchased and received no replies. Nor can I use the items I have purchased, find another service this one will steal your money. It does seem fairly easy to contact a salesperson which proves this is a scam company.

The response from the company below says to email the company at the address provided below, I sent requests for help to that email multiple times prior to leaving this review and have yet to receive a response. I wish the company was as responsive to feedback on Trust Pilot as they were with actual customer help requests.

As I recently added the new payment system to the system, I noticed that it blocked some of the phones we used in our trials and gave error errors during sending. Then I asked the company for help, but they said that they could not help and they would contact the sms providers. This old dinosaur company, which has been serving poorly for 25 days without any results, is now working for fraud. When I couldn't get a result, they closed my account, which I used for 4-5 years, with its balance, and they don't open it again. I say open a new account and transfer my credit there! They don't accept it either.
Fay-yaadh Edwards continues their fraud business with employees named Rutger Painczyk. Do not work with this useless old and no longer sms service instead of dirma, which scams and extorts customers' money. I cursed them all. They deserve so much cursing. I plan to sleep with their mother every night, but without sleep!

Now I see that with ads like me, stay away from this fraud company!

WhatsApp application migration...

We migrated a WhatsApp application recently and because this is not a standard request it took a bit longer than anticipated and was also not as smooth.
The Clickatell team rallied together and got it sorted Friday evening at 6PM.
Good sailors are not made in calm seas and therefore a big thank you to the team and a special shoutout to Fabian and Dominic for the updates and Kelvin and Johannes for your technical expertise.

1. My account was hacked and was told sorry for you we can't refund your credits. Change your password and good luck.
2. Twice have I deposited funds and my credits don't appear.
3. Support...What support? Still waiting for my credits.

Bottom Line: Stay Away from this company. Not worth the stress.

Not only is this the most expensive company, (180 USD as "Setup Costs") where other do not charge for this at all. The worst is their lack of service. I was trapped into their confusing service process, and then I received a notice form PayPal that my account was charged for 310 USD. Two minutes after I sent an email to this company asking to cancel those charges. They never answered. I continued emailing them, I am not using their service, and still no answer from their part, Please beware. There are other more serious, ethical and cheaper providers than Clickatell.

Consistently unreliable SMS delivery…

Consistently unreliable SMS delivery and non-existent support.

We've been having issues for 4 months now. Out of 3 times we contacted support, we received a reply only once. It's been over a month since our latest attempt to contact Clickatell - no response still. Note that they still charge you for undelivered SMS.

Save yourself the hassle and look for something more reliable.

UPDATE 1: About a month later, someone from Clickatell reached out to tell... that 'due to a processing error on our side your query was not investigate.' and asking for failed message IDs again.

Case number: ENSC-135388. Delivery is still failing.

UPDATE 2: Someone from Clickatell finally got in touch. They made an effort to resolve the issue and most SMS are delivered now. Upgrading rating to 3 stars. Occasionally SMS still fail, even though the same number could be reached previously. Go figure.

UPDATE 3: SMS delivery failing again. We can't trust that Clickatell is delivering our SMS and have to keep an eye on them and do back-and-forth with their support. The only thing we can be confident about is that their billing works - they never forget to charge you, including undelivered SMS.
