Transferring and ISA from a different provider
I decided to move an ISA from a different provider to Close Bros. I completed the simple form online asking Close Bros to have the money moved on maturity. The process was very simple and I was able to select the old bank from a drop-down list. To my surprise the money was in Close Bros bank the same day as maturity. Very pleased and very impressed. Thank you Close Brothers.

Difficult to complete an application for an ISA
It was really rad work to complete an application. In the end I had to contact customer services who were let down by the software. I thought I was maybe being scammed until I contacted the FCA.

Easy to apply for a one year fixed rate savings bond. Website was easy to navigate, confirmation e mail after each funding was nice. Register for online banking arrived in a timely manner and was again easy to setup. All in all I am very satisfied with my dealings so far.

Opened an account just got message that there was a error message, had email asking for deposit yet you cant even get your website to work correctly. Saying I would get a letter still not received anything though the post 5 working days later

Wonderful personal service
The extremely helpful gentleman helped me to transfer my existing isa into a new account and also gave us a higher rate than that advertised for a rollover, he then step by step helped me to set up another account to transfer in second isa from elsewhere at the maturity date. We have used Close Brothers a lot over the years and have always had wonderful service. Highly recommended

Bad experience with Close Brothers
I applied for a Close Brothers savings account and after a few days received E-mail confirmation that the account was open and that I needed to deposit money within 10 days. A code for internet banking never arrived and therefore I was unable to deposit funds within the given timeframe. The product has now been withdrawn so I will open an account with another provider.

The waiting time to speak to someone very good.
Well I made some silly mistakes making the application very confusing for the customer support agents.
The customer service team did not respond it was only a couple of days ago. However I spoke to such a nice young man Henry Allsop he had the patience of a saint. A very positive experience so far.

Very clear literature including an accurate breakdown on actual returns on a three year fixed rate cash ISA.
Very good online security and a solid reputation as an investment company.

First impressions
Offerings are of great value for money but restricted to only the computer-savvy with a significant amount to invest. The online application was not as seamless as it could have been, but this is not a major drawback due to good customer support.
