Direct2Drive Avis 

Received an invalid key for a game. No response from the customer support, except for an automated reply that tried to shift the blame. According to their reddit account, the pricing and invalid keys were sent out due to a technical glitch, and the keys were supposedly "test keys" for a new system that aren't usable anywhere. Whoever is behind the reddit account also said they would "look into" issuing refunds. What is there to look into? People received invalid keys so the refunds should be immediate and a given. Shady, scammy site, avoid like the plague.

Edit: After a week of complete radio silence escalated the issue on Paypal and finally got my money back. This was the first and the last time I will have dealt with this joke of a company.

Really poor. Key did not work on steam. Price of game was very low but i suspect it was an attempt to get web traffic. Customer service automated rubbish. Paypal refund will take a while now.

Scam, invalid keys and no refund

I bought a game from Direct2Drive because they were offering it at a great price. Unfortunately, the Steam key they gave me cannot be activated. After sending a message about this error to their support staff, all I got was an automated reply. I still haven't gotten a working game key or even a refund.

Needless to say, this was the first and last time I'll ever use Direct2Drive. Avoid this store at all costs.

One of those fraud Website on the Web that has a history of pulling now and then stunts like selling "knowingly" Dummy Steam Keys and then claiming it was done by accident:

Do yourself a favor and ignore them when they have another fake promotion running on their website, nothing good will come out of this store every again after it changed Ownership a couple of times in the past.

Bait advertising. They sold a game with a surprisingly good discount, but provided dummy keys so no one could activate it.

Bought a copy of Valkyria Chronicles 4 on sale and got an invalid key in a previously unseen Steam key format.
I tried contacting their customer support but you will instantly get an automated response based on keywords in your request, any and all further attempt to reply to that email will only result in an immediate automatic response with the same first reply.
Avoid at all cost it's just a fraudulent site where you will never have any hope of getting a working key or your money back.

Absolute garbage. Tried activating a code on Steam to find out it had already been activated by another account. Non existent support was no help. Avoid at all cost no matter how good the deals are.

UPDATE: finally received new key that works, but I would still be wary.

Can't activate games that I have paid for. Contacted support over 5 times and they don't respond or respond with automated message saying they are working to resolve the issue. 3 years later I am still unable to play games that I have purchased. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

Paid for games, it once worked and now I cannot unlock or play it. Customer support did not respond.

Download botched twice and game just hangs at "installing" with no progress bars. Stop trying to be like Steam, you clearly have no idea what you're doing.

Pre-ordered Pillars of Eternity II from them two weeks before release date. 12 hours after the game has come out, still no key. Requesting support only give you an auto-reply with a generic message. I'm wondering if this is even a legit website.

Same as all the rest, tried to regain access to my games, but it seems the company is now on autopilot with no real people responding to emails or maintaining the site, avoid like the plague... Also, their sales suck nowadays anyways, last time I made a good purchase on an on-sale item was 2010...

I bought a host of GameFly games before they were taken over by Direct2Drive. Nevertheless, I continued to have access to these well after Direct2Drive became the established owner.

However, recently when I wanted to download some of those games again, I discovered that the activation keys no longer work.

I emailed Direct2Drive a number of complaints about this issue, but only ever got a bland automated response essentially saying "we're working on it."

Aside from suddenly losing access to content I have rightfully purchased, the customer service and after care from Direct2Drive has clearly degenerated since I last had to contact them (they were previously very helpful).

I can no longer recommend them.

Same as other folks. Activation issue, no ETA.

Anyone unhappy with treatment (or lack there of) by Direct2Drive should email me at RealD2DCustomer @ gmail.com and we can see about a possible class action lawsuit if they don't want to opt for coming to some kind of resolution. I would much prefer to get either working CD Keys for all my games or reimburse me so I can purchase them elsewhere. But it seems to me that the company has basically abandoned it's site and customers since roughly sometime in Aug of this yr (2017)?

Bought fallout 3 back in 2014 played on this machine.. woke up one spring morning in 2017 and game magicly not working saying key is invalid contact D2D support and they say blah balh somthing to do with comp merger 2 years ago tell me it will be fixed by september we are noww november still no reply or answer from anyone..company is trash dont recommend

I tried to play a game I purchased and previously worked and now the activate code no longer works. I submitted an email to customer service.....crickets. Nothing, ziltch, nada. Go anywhere else but here for your purchases.

I cant play any of my games i have bought through them it is messed up either give me these unlock codes or whatever or i want my damn 200 plus bucks back that ive spent on these games
