An Honest Review from a Former Engineius Driver's Perspective
I worked with Engineius for around three years, and although I no longer work with them, I wanted to leave an honest review from a driver's perspective.
Overall, Engineius is a well-organised company with clear procedures and high standards. Some of the rules can feel strict, but they are one of the largest vehicle movement companies in the UK for a reason. Their processes have helped them build a strong reputation and provide a large volume of work for drivers.
One of the biggest advantages of working with Engineius is the variety. You get to drive all kinds of vehicles, from everyday cars to vans and occasionally something unusual or interesting. The job also gives you the opportunity to travel across England, Scotland and Wales. Thanks to Engineius, I visited many places I would never have seen otherwise and met a lot of great people.
My advice to new drivers is simple: read every job requirement carefully and always follow the company procedures, even if they seem overly strict.
During my time with Engineius, my account was temporarily suspended once because a vehicle was not washed before delivery. However, before completing the job I had called Driver Support because the vehicle had come from a construction site and was extremely dirty inside and out. I was advised that washing it was not necessary in those circumstances. Later my account was suspended and I received a first warning, but after I explained what had happened, the warning was removed and my account was reinstated. From that experience I learned that if anything is unclear, it is worth contacting support immediately and keeping a record of the advice you receive.
I also recommend avoiding mixing jobs from different vehicle movement companies on the same day or within the same schedule. Deliveries can change unexpectedly if a customer requests a vehicle to be returned or a job is cancelled. If you dedicate your availability to one company at a time, it is much easier to deal with these changes and the support team can usually help you reorganise your work.
Eventually my Engineius account was permanently closed after I became inactive and failed to respond to their attempts to contact me. At that time I was working almost exclusively as a taxi driver, often 12-hour night shifts, seven days a week, while trying to support the family of a close friend who had become seriously ill. I accept that I should have kept in touch with the company, so I don't blame them for making that decision.
Overall, despite how our cooperation ended, I appreciate the experience I gained. Engineius gave me the opportunity to travel across the UK, drive a wide variety of vehicles and develop as a professional driver. If you are reliable, organised and willing to follow their procedures, it can be a very rewarding company to work with.
I would definitely recommend giving this type of work a try, whether with Engineius or another vehicle movement company. I found it to be a very enjoyable and rewarding job. Every day is different, you drive different vehicles, travel to new places and no two jobs are exactly the same.
Of course, there can be stressful days. Trains get cancelled, deliveries change at the last minute, or the vehicle you're driving to your next collection point is no longer available because plans have changed. These situations are simply part of the job. Like any profession, not everything goes perfectly every day, but for me that unpredictability is also part of the adventure.
Today I still work in the vehicle movement industry, although now I work for another company because I can no longer work with Engineius. During my career I have only worked with two vehicle movement companies, so I have a good basis for comparison.
As I live in Scotland, there are times when there isn't enough vehicle movement work to fill every day of the week. My solution has always been simple: when there are no vehicle movements available, I work as a taxi driver. That flexibility has worked well for me over the years.
If you're thinking about becoming a trade plate driver, my advice is to give it a chance. It isn't always easy, but if you enjoy driving, travelling and working independently, it can be a genuinely satisfying career.

Your driver Chris was very professional in every way,& explaining the process in simple terms to me as i have never done this before.
Very polite & friendly & reassuring that the vehicle would not be taken until we were both satisfied that the payment had been made
Mixed Bag
Mixed Bag. I would say in the, just shy of 2 years I worked for Engineius, completing almost 900 moves, the care towards drivers definitively declined. Some great people work there and some great people left - and unfortunately, they don’t include the people who ultimately decide your fate.
Drivers can come and go because there are plenty of people out there with licenses. Experience and your interactions with the actual end users at pick ups and drop offs count for nothing, other than enhancing the reputation of the company.
For each lost contract, car-wow, hertz, herd hire, the modern milkman to name a few recent, there is always another company to come along and be blinded by the shiny premise of shiny technology. So work is always plenty. The app generally works well to be fair and issues are normally resolved quite quickly.
There are rules in place for drivers to follow, but these are broken by the company when it suits their needs to keep unaware customers happy (most of whom probably don’t care anyway).
Drivers are treated differently for no apparent reason by some departments - those with the knack of working the system/people can be offered twice as much as the next driver to complete the same job.
Rules.
‘Pull and park, not allowed - unless we need you to.’
‘ Multiple vehicles in your care, not allowed - unless we need you to’.
‘drivers lifting one another - turn a blind eye as what we don’t know (the data is there) isn’t our responsibility’
Constant phone calls whilst you’re on the movements from under pressure operational staff just doing as they’re told - chasing eta’s which you’ve already supplied electronically.
Then. Leave or be removed from the portal and you may find it difficult to access any information which in theory you are entitled to.
I have been requesting copies of invoices dating back between July 2024 until December 2024 (the laptop I had stored these on has died on me and like a fool I didn’t have online storage or another backup so admittedly I am at partial blame here) - this request has been made several times over the past few weeks and no doubt under the guidance of the assurance team, this request has neither been acknowledged or fulfilled.
Looking back I would say I actually quite enjoyed my time working for them - but maybe this was glossed over by interactions with the good staff and nice clients, and reasonable money (although don’t be misled by best pay in the business claims - it adds up because the volume of work doesn’t really leave you stranded).
Amendment - 16/07/2026
Invoices were eventually provided as requested but the batch sent out was missing a whole month. The missing ones have subsequently been sent to me.
The company also requested that I return their trade and sent an email with an attachment to print so they could be returned. When I informed them I had no facility to print another email was received informing me I would receive an SAE in the post to help return the plates - they ‘MUST’ be returned within two weeks of the email (assuming if not done my £50 deposit is forefitted).
Two weeks have passed and I have received nothing in the post from them to facilitate the return.
Let it also be noted that in the first of two remittances to be received after I no longer worked for the company they omitted including the qualified work bonus for that period until I questioned the omission with them. I was led to believe this may be common practice in the hope that it isn’t raised.
Interesting to note the comments of previous poster - Ken Ivers re: social media posts.
Possibly the company needs to look in house at how its own staff utilise social media. Coarse Language is the norm from some of the staff who maybe should set a better example.
Permanently removed from network
Permanently removed from network due to non work related social media comment despite exemplary record and 1100+ movements..pathetic decision good luck to those who remain in the panto
Very ruthless assurance department that almost have a free reign on the ' firing ' process

Car crash of a company
They may be able to deliver vehicles but they are wholly unprofessional regarding important communications. No response to emails despite polite reminders. I will not deal with them.
