Nearly $3,000 to Meet the Same Disappointing People
I joined Events & Adventures in Chicago expecting an active, adventurous singles community. What I got was an expensive disappointment.
I gave it a fair chance, attending one or two events most weeks for three months, deliberately trying different nights and activities. Unfortunately, it was largely the same small group of people every time. Despite the impression of a thriving singles community, I encountered fewer than 50 regular participants.
The gender ratio was balanced, but the dating prospects were dismal. Many of the men seemed passive and socially disengaged. At trivia nights, getting a conversation going often felt like pulling teeth. One member described the group as “busy, Type A women and passive men.” That summed up my experience.
The events weren’t particularly special, either. Many were ordinary public bar trivia nights anyone could attend without a membership. The New Year’s Eve celebration consisted of two tables at a much larger family-oriented community event, complete with young children. It wasn’t remotely the singles celebration I’d expected.
And all activities cost extra on top of the nearly $3,000 membership fee.
My biggest regret was falling for the high-pressure sales pitch. There’s an incentive to sign immediately, but only a three-day cancellation window—nowhere near enough time to evaluate what you’re buying. By the time I realized the experience didn’t match the advertising, I was locked into an expensive contract.
My advice: Don’t sign without experiencing the events firsthand. Ask how many members actually attend, what activities cost extra, and whether you’ll be seeing the same people repeatedly.
I gave E&A three months of genuine effort. I wish I’d spent the money on actual adventures instead.
Absolutely Scam Likely
Scam Likely! Warning!!! Beware. I wish I would have read the reviews before I signed up for this. Please don’t waste your money. Events and Adventures is absolutely a scam. I had high hopes in getting out and meeting new people after my divorce, so I signed up for Events and Adventures. I really think they intentionally take advantage of lonely vulnerable people. When booking an event they were always full. I was never able attended one event in the 2 years that they were taking money out of my account monthly. Totaling over $2900.00 maybe more I stopped counting. When I complained to the event staff I was assigned to he said you just have to book faster next time. But Im convinced that they never have enough space to accommodate all of the members who want to attend. How can you make me pay for something that I can’t use. By locking me into a contract that I can’t cancel without legal recourse or you putting it on my credit. What reputable company would do that. If the service is good people will stay without you forcing them to do so. They would get Zero stars if I could. Because they give zero F_cks if you are dead or dying as long as they get their money. I put this company in the same category as those stupid time shares.

Poorly organised and more for literally everything after the membership fee
It’s basically a scam.
They charge $240 a month and you still have to pay to go to events.
This week in DC there is a free movie showing, they are charging $11 to attend because they give you a ‘snack’.
I’d prefer to bring something with me I actually like. Every event is like this. Many are arranged by other members so poorly led because they are for them and their friends.
Joined the Dallas club in Feb 2026
Joined the Dallas club, and there are only a few events being held in Dallas in May 2026 and there are only two scheduled in Dallas for June 2026. If you live in Dallas and enjoy driving to Fort Worth, McKinney, Grapevine, The Colony, etc. for a dinner or brunch, this is the club for you. Otherwise, there are other clubs well worth your money that host 6 or so events a week in Dallas.
A complete SCAM
A complete SCAM! Joined in Dallas. Had a job transfer soon after. They require me to provide them with a current utility bill with my name on it and a state issued ID with a matching address for them to stop the direct deposit. Do not do it! They got me. If it was a reputable organization, they would take your word for it. I can do the electric bill. My company doesn't require me to show proof of government ID change. SCAM. And I was in a fraternity
IT IS NOT WORTH IT!
Unless you are fully able to commit to this, DO NOT sign up. They give you a 3-day windows and it absolute. My 3-day window ended on a Sunday and it was impossible to reach aanyone. But, worse than that, the people have no feelings or compassion for aanyone. Not less than a week afterward, I went into total renal failure, was in the hospital for 51 days, and ended up on dialysis 24 hours a day then went in-center 3 days a week. I couldn't not even walk. I provided proof, with doctor's statement, disability notice, and significantly reduced income due to disability and they still refused to cancel my membership. I have never been able to participate in even one event and there it sits on my credit report for almost $3,000 for more than 3 years. It is just not worth it. Most of this stuff, if you are able, you can just do on your own. It is just not worth it.
A few events, some adventures (a couple even in my town!)
Scammy vibes aside, there were a few events and one or two adventures some even within my town. Most were in the next big city, and quite a drive. Even with the $100/month, events had an added cost (though some were free.) I did not enjoy my time with them, and they may have added months to my membership just to charge me more, though it's possible two years is 27 months. Either way, it's really only worth the pricetag if you have an abundance of time and money.
Also, not only have I received NO incentive to write this, the total cost for two years (27 months) ends up being $3595, not including the cost of various events and/or adventures, some of which were free, and some of which were upwards of $50, while big adventures could be thousands. You are paying $3600 for the opportunity to use their calendar. It was not worth it for me.
It’s not as advertised sadly. Save your money
The club is expensive and ties you in very fast. If it was value for money they wouldn’t need to.
The events are run by other members and so I’m not sure what you are paying for, it’s like an expensive meetup.
The first dinner they all knew each other and I couldn’t find them, it’s was really embarrassing asking random people. The 2nd started 45mins late despite an email saying to meet 3pm SHARP. The 3rd they started without me as I was in the bar as instructed and they had gone through to play golf.
Again I wasn’t made to feel very welcome and almost went home.
The organiser then told they were paid event credits to host events so only the new people are basically paying,
Which makes sense for a darts one where the price was $10 than the group price payable directly on the flight club website. The member was making a profit off the other participants.
I think it’s a bit of a scam, it’s a shame because the idea is great. It’s a shame they don’t invest in the actual product.
COLLECTIONS!!! Yay!! Have fun!!!
I joined this community hoping to meet people, especially after feeling lonely. I had a short Zoom interview where they asked for my ID to verify I had no criminal record. After joining and paying for the membership, no one contacted me to explain how anything worked.
When I checked the schedule, there were only two local events at bars for the entire month, and most other events were international and very expensive. After repeatedly calling and texting, someone finally contacted me, but the response was dismissive and unhelpful—they just told me to look at the schedule.
Because there were essentially no meaningful events in my area and no support despite the “premium” membership, I stopped the payments through my bank. My account has now been sent to collections.
Looking back, the ID verification during the interview feels less about supporting members and more about securing their ability to pursue payments.
Noticed since I first joined
Noticed since I first joined, a lot of the times and dates of activities are geared towards people with regular 9 to 5 jobs, Monday to Friday with the weekends off. However, I work nights and have an irregular schedule in the medical field. I am only able to attend 1 or two events in a month at best due to almost all major events happening in the early evenings and interesting ones on weekends. Please consider future events with varying times in the mornings, afternoons, and weekdays more. I am sure there are other members like me who are unable to attend due to particular work schedules. Thank you.
Costa Rica Trip Feedback
Gracen, was outstanding. Her energy level is off the charts, she is always smiling, constantly keeping everyone informed, extremely accessible, very accommodating, and is funny too . She was a fantastic host, and I would gladly want her on every trip going forward.

My experience with Events and…
My experience with Events and Adventures was very disappointing. The staff didn't seem very helpful or interested in resolving our issuesand getting accurate event details was frustrating. Customer support took a long time to respond and didn’t really offer any clear solutions. Overall, the whole process felt disorganized. I expected a much smoother and more reliable experience from a site that handles event listings and ticketing.

I really enjoy the travel portion of this group the most. The local gatherings could use a boost and more adventurous events than sitting and drinking. I feel like a lot of the events aren’t very well attended and a little bit disorganized at times. Don’t get me wrong, I like the people I meet and I think this is a great idea …obviously I renewed for another year, but I’m trying myself to think of new ideas to present to you. Thank you for all you do.
Friends for Life
I became a member of Events & Adventures, June 2023. It was the best decision of my life. I don't regret one minute of it. I have made so many wonderful close friends. They have become my family. I wish I joined years ago. I just recently became a lifetime member. I love attending all of the events and I now have plans for New Year's Eve for the rest of my life!

Life changing!
I moved to a new country in my late 40s and I felt like I wasn’t really making connections or friends - like where DO you meet new people? Joining E&A has been life changing! I’ve made loads of friends and have done so many adventures, seen so many new places and met so many cool people I never would have. I so happy I joined and even became a lifetime member recently. Cheers to more adventures with amazing people!

This is a very great opportunity to make a lot of friends. I have made some good friendships in my time here. However, when it comes to dating, relationships, any kind of romance you’re honestly better off elsewhere. I’m leaving E&A because I’m about to be engaged to the love of my life who I met from Hinge. However, if you want to make friends and explore your city then go for it. Also I have done the Iceland, Thailand, and Chile & Easter Island trip and the international trips are something I’d highly recommend. If it wasn’t for my upcoming engagement I would stay with E&A for the international trips alone.

I want to share my experience to help others avoid being misled. When I signed up with Events and Adventures, I was told my membership fees would cover all food, drinks, and activity costs. However, when I tried to attend events, I was charged additional fees for entry and meals. I expressed my concerns and requested to cancel, even offering to pay for an extra month or two. Instead, they demanded over $2,500 for 18 months of membership I no longer wanted. This business model feels dishonest and exploitative. Please be cautious before signing any contracts with them.
