You quoted over £600 to supply and fit two spring clusters on a Garador electric garage door.
The local Garador engineer supplied and fitted two clusters for £178.80. Took him 15 minutes.
I really can’t understand your price structure.

Quote was three times more expensive…
Quote was three times more expensive than a local company - when challenged they said the parts were an older model of garage door - overall quote was £750. Local company quoted me for the parts which probably come from same suppler at £66 plus 160 for labour.

To any potential customers who need…
To any potential customers who need assistance with a garage door I would avoid these people at all costs. I was struggling with my garage door not responding with my control buttons on the main control panel and thought it may be the small battery that had run down on the safety edge transmitter. The customer service department were informed of my opinion on the phone and suggested the engineer brought a battery with him.
On arrival the engineer took a quick look at the door (less than 30 seconds) and informed me I needed a new control panel unit and the customer service team would be in touch. He wanted £19.95 for the privilege of less than a minutes work for incorrect advice.
The customer service team called and quoted £800 for a new control panel and stated the £19.95 would be deducted from this if I agreed there and then. for the work to be undertaken. If I didn't authorise the work immediately the price would increase to £900. I googled a new control unit online, it can be obtained for £115.
I was correct in my own diagnosis in that the battery was flat and a new one at £3.84 solved the problem and the door has worked fine ever since.
This company has refused to refund my £19.95 for incorrect advice despite informing the door is working fine after fitting the new battery.
The company uses high pressure sales advisers to persuade you to undertake the work which is not required.
I can not advise strongly enough to stay away and look elsewhere - a complete waste of time and money. Avoid at all costs...

We’re sorry to hear how dissatisfied you were with both the assessment and the quotation provided. Our technicians attend to inspect the fault in person and report their findings, with any subsequent repair price advised separately before work is carried out.
We are particularly concerned to hear that replacing the battery resolved the issue, given the recommendation you say was made during the visit. If you have not already done so, we would encourage you to contact our Customer Service team with your job details so that we can review the technician’s assessment and the advice provided.
The £19.95 charge covers the technician’s attendance and assessment and is payable whether or not a quotation is accepted. There is never any obligation to proceed with quoted work, and customers are always free to decline and seek a second opinion.
We also take comments regarding pressure to proceed very seriously and would welcome the opportunity to review the circumstances surrounding the quotation and subsequent calls.

The person who fixed the garage door was very polite and professional. However the booking needs improvement. My confirmed day got cancelled twice and then someone arrived on an unscheduled day and then my booking was cancelled. The lady I spoke to in the office was rude and not heppful

Really good service
Really good service. The company and fitter (Scott) kept me appraised of their estimated time of arrival. They were punctual and very efficient. The fault was diagnosed immediately and the required spare part was available on the van so fitted within minutes. Very pleased with the repair.

Brilliant company .
From my initial contact to the final result GDF were helpful and professional, they informed me of the time of arrival of the technician and when Mark came he was lovely explained everything and had replaced my lock completely within the hour, I would highly recommend them. Oh and it came with a 12 month guarantee.

When we rang to see if you culd repair my garage we were told it would be about an hour and ring us when you were on the way. When your operative arrived he told me what was needed to repair the garage door quote was given and excepted wok was carried out thank you and is working well

Good quality but slow to complete and poor communication.
The quality of work and the workmen/engineers were absolutely fine. We phoned for an emergency engineer as our garage was stuck open to the street. The engineer came within 3 days and we had to wait seven weeks for fitting. Communication was minimal and we had to chase them a few times.
