I had found a deal that suited my needs
I did not want to get my insurance again with you as I found a better deal, I even found a better deal with your insurance company. When I phoned up to discuss the options I wasn’t given the choice or the chance to change. I was willing to stay with you but with the other option that suited my needs better but basically I was told
“ no too late” if I wasn’t out of town in the Campervan that was being insured I may of risked cancelling the whole thing, but then you knew that anyway

We do provide renewal invitations in advance of the renewal date to give customers sufficient time to review their quote and contact us if they wish to discuss their cover, make changes, or explore alternative options before the renewal takes place. Unfortunately, once a policy has renewed and entered a new period of cover, any request to cancel is subject to the cancellation terms and charges outlined within the policy documentation.
We appreciate that this was not the outcome you had hoped for, particularly when you had identified a different option that you felt was more suitable. We are sorry for any frustration caused and thank you for your feedback, which helps us review and improve the service we provide.

decent renewal price. good level of cover, easy to progress. Havent had to claim, (Thankfully) so dont know how smooth that process is. Hope i dont have to find out!

Didn’t get a call asking to renew…
Didn’t get a call asking to renew insurance they just took renewal purchase from my bank account, ideally should have called me to discuss - thus taking me for granted

We are sorry to hear of your negative experience with us, we appreciate that renewal communications can sometimes be overlooked, and we are sorry if this has caused any frustration.
As part of our renewal process, we send an email notification advising customers that their renewal quote is available to view in their online account. We encourage customers to review the renewal documents carefully and contact us in good time before the renewal date if they do not wish to continue their cover.
The renewal notice also explains that, unless we are instructed otherwise, payment will be collected automatically seven days before the policy renewal date to ensure there is no interruption to cover.

This was a simple auto renewal of a home insurance policy I have had for many years.

Tried to up the price
Was given price. Paid. Then they tried to increase cost by £800. So total of £1400. Went on compare site and got whole deal for £520.

After reviewing the policy, we can see that the No Claims Discount (NCD) was initially entered incorrectly. Once the correct NCD entitlement was provided and the policy details were updated, the discount applied to the policy was reduced, which resulted in an increase to the premium.
We appreciate that unexpected changes to the cost of a policy can be frustrating. However, premiums are calculated based on the information provided, and any amendments to key details, such as NCD, can affect the insurer's rating and price.
