I'm so in love with my mattress
I'm so in love with my mattress! The quality is top class and I am so impressed with the company. The fact that it's handmade and from quality natural materials is absolutely unbeatable and affordable! I have never slept better! My only negative had to do with my local retailer who didn't reflect Harrison Mattress very well.

Sustainable & so comfortable
I love how the mattresses are all natural & sustainable, this is the main reason why I was looking for a mattress from this company.
An added bonus is how comfortable the mattress is and how luxurious it feels to sleep on.

Excellent Service and Quality, Okay Comfort
We are slowly adjusting to the mattress. The softest mattress they have is medium and we were hoping for a little softer than what we purchased. The quality is excellent and the comfort okay.

It can sometimes take a little time to fully adjust to a new mattress, which is why we recommend using it for the full 12-week settlement period. During this time, we ask that you rotate your mattress weekly and, if it is a dual-sided model, turn and rotate it on alternate weeks throughout the settlement period. This allows both you and the mattress time to settle and adjust, helping the comfort and feel of the mattress develop over this initial period and beyond.

I bought my mattress from John Lewis in…
I bought my mattress from John Lewis in 2013 and after a bit of detective work have concluded that it was probably made by Harrison Spinks. The sales person at the time tried to persuade me not to buy the firm version, which seemed to be the most comfortable when tried out in-store. He didn't give a reason, but when it was manoeuvred up the stairs by two very grumpy people, both with a low centre of gravity, and when I tried it out for the first time (not so much firm as solid), I began to understand.
I've never loved the mattress (I sleep better on the Ikea mattress in the spare room at a friend's house), but have tolerated it because of the high price I paid. The first time I tried to turn it, the sewn-on handle came off in my hand but the mattress did not budge. The mattress has always been as immoveable as a slab of concrete and has never been turned/rotated due to this. Even two of us (female) could not do it. I've only researched the brand now because it occurred to me that, 13 years later, I can move on from it with a clear conscience.
Clearly I need to research this minefield of mattress buying a bit better next time. I'd love to say I'd consider the same brand due to its eco credentials but I really can't see that happening.
I've only written this review now as it provides a somewhat longer term view of the product, which may be helpful to somebody else.
Thank you for your detailed response. I should add that I do recall JL saying that the mattress would be made up north and made-to-order, and it was over £1k, so I'm pretty sure it's one of yours. It's the weight and density of it really. I wish someone at JL had suggested I try to lift it in-store before purchasing, so perhaps that's the take-home advice for future purchasers.

A good buy
We are very happy with our new mattress, bought via Dreams. The delivery was speedy and efficient, with the old mattress being removed for recycling. We were able to try the product in store and it has proved to be a good buy.

Harrison Spinks Regent mattress
Recently bought a firm Regent mattress from Barker and Stonehouse furniture store. We tried other stores but that was the best one. The mattress is so lovely and comfortable as it is nice and deep. I don’t think we will be needing an additional mattress topper which I normally put on in autumn-winter season. I think this a worthwhile purchase as having good quality sleep is important and this product is excellent quality.
