Hickory Farms quality has declined

Hickory Farms, what have you done?? The quality is definitely lower on all of your products in the gift basket that I received! The cheese was horrible, I ended up throwing it out. The crackers are no longer neatly stacked in packaging, but thrown in a little cellophane. I can't tell my sister, who gave me it as a gift, how disappointing it is. Shame on you for not keeping up the quality that people have enjoyed for years. If you put in the quality ingredients, people will pay.

My first time dealing with Hickory…

My first time dealing with Hickory Farms. I tried placing an order online and it kept putting me back into the payment, so I called the 1-800 number to place my order. Spokane with some foreign with broken english. Never received a confirmation email so I called back the next day. Another person with broken English. They tried to confirm my address and it was completely wrong! Took several times. Trying to get it right. I just had a bad feeling my item wasn’t going to arrive. So the next day I called back to cancel. Again another lady with broken english. She tells me I cant cancel, the invoice already went through. Then tells me it was already delivered when it wasn’t supposed to be delivered until Dec 24th.
THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD!!!

Went to Eastwood Mall in Ohio

Went to Eastwood Mall in Ohio, the sale was buy two get $2.00 off. I wanted a cheese and a meat. Amber, which was very friendly, said you have to buy 2 cheese or 2 meats, buy the candies you can buy 2 of anything and get $2.00 off. Idk just unfair imo. I get Hickory Farms every single year, usually a gift set for myself. Well I get home after I get them cold and they have done something to the quality. The sharp cheddar cheese is definitely not the same at all, I have had way better at Marc's for way cheaper. The meat was so greasy when I opened it, it left a pile of liquid on my counter, hope I don't get sick from that one. Completely bummed out over this Hickory farms purchase and it's not the $2.00 either, it's the quality. Won't buy again after years of buying.

$149.00 CHRISTMAS BASKET WAS HORRIBLE

I ordered their Christmas Holiday basket for $149 on December 9, 2024. The picture was beautiful. Lovely oval basket with meats, cheeses, crackers, and a few sweet treats. When it arrived, the cellophane was all ripped and the contents were lying on the bottom of the shipping box. This was a GIFT for a very good friend. I called them and the agent was very friendly. I told her I am elderly and do not want to go buy cellophane and ribbon and put the basket back together myself or I would've done that in the first place. She said they would send me another one. I said how do I know that one won't arrive in the same condition? She said 'oh we will make sure that that one arrives perfectly put together'. I just received it today and it too had the contents spilled on the bottom of the box, ripped cellophane, and half of the contents were buried under the basket filler and could not even be seen. I am beside myself. The point was not to get double meat, cheese, and snacks from them but to have at least one beautiful basket to give my friend. Today is the 19th. I am now tasked with finding another gift I am not too embarrassed to give her. What a disappointing experience with a company that used to be wonderful.

Hickory Farms gift basket

I placed an order in November to be delivered by Dec 13th for our son. Never arrived. Tracking kept updating then Dec 15th not showing anything. I've emailed hickory farms several times and called twice. Was told someone would call me and nothing no response to my emails either. We have ordered from them for years. But NEVER again! Customer service is no help at all!!!

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! They never sent me a receipt nor confirmation email, nor any updates on my order. I've emailed them three times but no reply back. I've also tried calling their customer service number, but it wasn't going through (dead silence on the other end of the call).

Not sure if this company is still in business, but I highly do not recommend using this service/product at all.

Concern about an order I received.

I had a concern about a product I received as a gift. I called customer service and was treated with respect and professionalism. The representative said she was so sorry for the problem and without questions offered me a replacement and told me when I should receive it. Exceptional service.

Failed to Deliver Father's Day Gift

I ordered a gift basket for Father's Day. I ordered over a week ahead, got a notice it had shipped in time for expected delivery and then nothing. It never got past label created. When I called, there was little in the way of apology. I was offered a refund but that is it. The item I ordered was no longer in stock. I pressed for a discount and free shipping on another item, but they would not agree. Nothing to address the fact that my gift was never even sent and I was left apologizing to my dad for a no show gift. Very disappointing and needless to say I took my business elsewhere and will not order from them in the future.

Refused to ship order on time

My sister and I ordered the most expensive summer sausage basket as a gift for our dad who will be celebrating Father's Day and his birthday within a week of each other.

We ordered the basket on June 2nd, 2024 and the order had been processing since then. It's been 12 full days with no progress on the processing or even the shipment. In fact, my sister showed me the order receipt which says we would get it between the 12th and the 14th, but the order had not even been shipped, let alone made it through the processing. Why it has been processing all this time, we don't know, perhaps laziness on their part.

We both wrote to Hickory Farms asking what was going on with the order and this is what I received as a response. Notice, not one apology or any attempt to correct the situation.

"Dear Dan,

Thank you for your recent order.

You order is schedule to be shipped today (Friday the 14th, the day it was supposed to arrive by) so unfortunately it will not arrive in time for Father's Day.

If you would like we can refund you the price of the shipping since it will not arrive in time. Please let us know if this is acceptable.

Sincerely,

Virginia"

I added that part in parenthesis to highlight the delivered by date.

At the VERY LEAST, they should eat the cost of next day delivery since they rested on their laurels and instead of making good on their promise IN WRITING, IN EMAIL, that our box would be delivered between the 12th and 14th, then THEY should offer a next day delivery on their dime. I am sure anyone reading this would agree. Again, it's been almost 2 full weeks with no shipping or promise to ship.

This is completely unacceptable. There is no reason for this company to take 2 weeks to ship a product of theirs. For a company making about 250 million dollars a year, this is VERY unacceptable.

I know they won't feel the loss of my never purchasing another product of theirs again, but the more people hit them where it hurts, in the bank account, then MAYBE Judy Ransford, the CEO, might get off her laurels and light a fire under her employees and get them to be thankful they have a job in the first place.

Maybe Todd Grohnke or Ray Chacon need a little visit from Judy to find out why Hickory Farms has a 2 star rating on Trust Pilot and why it takes 2 weeks and an email to get a response from their employees to finally ship out an order.

This isn't real food anymore. Disgusting what happens to companies when they get to big for there own good. I hope you go down hard because what you sell is pathetic!

I called to follow up on an order and…

I called to follow up on an order and their automated service was down—e-mailed and no response. I cancelled the order as it never shipped—no response. A week later I was informed my expedited shipment had shipped—again I reached out—and again no response. Will not be using them again and have addressed with my CC company

ordered a $74 gift basket for the wife…

ordered a $74 gift basket for the wife for valentines and im ashamed to give it to her. the products art tiny portions, hard to tell by pics online. When i emailed customer service they were absolutely rude! so then i called about an issue that the picture on site showed chocolate drizzel popcorn and i received pretzels. again, very rude and condescending. horrible experience

Horrible in every way..

Horrible in every way... The quality and selection of their products has declined over the years to now being undesirable. Customer service is non-existent. I just received a Christmas gift box from a relative and found that the items had expired, based on the expiration dates.

After being a customer for over 50…

After being a customer for over 50 years I will no longer be patronizing Hickory Farms. They advertised and their customer service agents gave false information about the location of a holiday market in Pembroke Lakes Mall. After driving an hour and spending an hour searching the mall I was very disappointed. I contacted their customer service agents the next day and was told I would get a call back. I never did. I received a very weak "We are sorry" but tough luck to you email. No offer of a discount nor free shipping to me. Good bye Hickory Farms!

Permanent Junk Mail

I made one order of this company's mediocre-at-best products, and I have been unable to get off of their junk mail list since. I have tried going on 4 years to get off of their list, and every year they promise I'll be removed... only to get more junk mail from them the following year. There is nothing to recommend this company and their execrable customer service and unwillingness to honor a basic request is good reason to avoid them.

Hickory Farm used to be reliable

Hickory Farm used to be reliable, with a quality product. Unfortunately, they have been terrible with online orders in the past few years. Most orders have to be babysat, until magically it gets sent out, and even then you may or may not receive tracking information. More often than not there is no compensation for their ineptitude. I am currently dealing with an order that I placed a month ago that has not been sent out yet due to many of their technical issues and poor customer service training. I will not use them anymore. It’s time to find someone who will work hard for their customer base.

Horrible Company

My experience with Hickory Farms was fantastic a decade or so ago. Now, it is horrendous. Hickory Farms has clearly cheapened their ingredients. Because their cheese tastes like cheap plastic now. They replaced quality with quantity. So, they are no longer the great company that cares about customers' eating experience anymore. Instead, they care about profit more than customers.
