Invictus Motors journey started with a passion for Porsches. It has now evolved into a sustainable business model run by a team of people who all share a big passion for Porsche of all shapes and sizes, as well as other brands too, providing excellent service to customers that would like to make one of their largest investments a seamless and stress-free experience. The Invictus Motors story begins with Basheer Zaheer, purchasing a Porsche 911 996 for himself in the early 2010s. The car needed some engine work so he took it to a Porsche Specialist, who ended up taking him for a ride, charging him for parts they didn’t even touch and not doing an adequate job! Realising he had been messed around, he then went to another specialist, where history repeated itself. After finally finding a specialist that weren’t squeezing him for money, he decided that he didn’t want anyone else to share the same experience, so invested all of his savings, and teamed up with his brother, Ali Zaheer, to create Invictus Motors. To ensure that we hold ourselves to the highest standard, we are working in partnership with AMS Porsche. AMS Porsche pride themselves on delivering the highest levels of Porsche Servicing, ranging from the classic 356, through all 911 variants (Porsche 930, 964, 993, 996, 997, and 991), to the Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera and even the most recent all-electric Taycan. Their dedicated team of technicians are also experts in Porsche Engine Rebuilds, and fast becoming the leading centre for Engine Rebuilds in the South of the UK. We offer an outstanding selection of hand-picked cars for sale. Each car is carefully prepared to the highest standard. Our stock profile is built on knowledge, passion, expertise and attention to detail. We offer a wide range of services including an iron-clad WarrantyWise warranty, 5 Day Drive-Away Insurance, Servicing, MOT, Valeting and Detailing, and all forms of work your car may need, whether it just be a new drive-belt, or a full engine rebuild. Having these services in-house enables us to prepare the cars to the highest possible standard. Our office and servicing facilities are located in Hatfield Heath, which is just outside Bishop Stortford, Hertfordshire, near London Stansted Airport.

Don’t believe a word they say

Don’t believe a word they say! Don’t believe the positive reviews. They sell dangerous vehicles with zero accountability! Very nice and charming to hook you in. When it all starts to go wrong, very difficult to get hold of. I would trust this garage or the people that operate it.

We strongly disagree with the claims made in this review and feel it is important to set out the factual position.

The vehicle in question was a Toyota Land Cruiser supplied with a recorded mileage of 215,160 miles at the time of purchase. Since purchase, the vehicle has covered approximately a further 12,000 miles and was used as a working vehicle, including regular towing of a trailer in connection with the reviewer’s trade as a blacksmith.

Approximately 12 months later, at a recorded mileage of circa 227,144 miles, we were contacted and asked to contribute £6,000 towards repair work the reviewer wished to undertake. At no point prior to this were we made aware of any unresolved safety concerns. Also not forgetting this vehicle throughout it’s circa 23 Years life had a very good track record of servicing and MOT records.

Despite the age, mileage, and use of the vehicle, we offered multiple reasonable options in good faith:
• Recovery of the vehicle to us for inspection at our cost
• Carrying out the necessary works ourselves, subject to inspection
• Purchasing the vehicle back from the customer

These options were offered to resolve matters fairly and transparently. The suggestion that we sell “dangerous vehicles” or avoid accountability is categorically untrue.

We remain committed to professional, lawful, and reasonable aftersales conduct and stand by the way this matter was handled.

Engine failure McLaren 570S - avoid if you value your CRA!

McLaren 570S – catastrophic engine failure, fronted sale, CRA dispute & rejection (full timeline)

In this case, the failure occurred around four months into ownership. In hindsight, I was fortunate the issue arose when it did — had the car been placed into long-term storage or failed later, it could easily have gone beyond the six-month period where Consumer Rights Act (CRA) protections are clearer and the burden of proof sits with the supplying dealer.

The key difference this time was that the car was purchased on regulated finance, which made the CRA position far more structured and ultimately far more clear-cut once evidence was provided.

I’m sharing the full timeline below in case it helps others.

Background
Vehicle: McLaren 570S
Vehicle was advertised, discussed, and handled day-to-day by Invictus Motors
Supplying dealer named on the finance agreement: Mini World - fronted for invictus
Independent McLaren specialist used throughout
At the time of purchase, it was not clearly explained that the vehicle was effectively being supplied by a different dealer to the one I was dealing with operationally. This later became highly relevant once problems arose.

Pre-sale inspection & warranty discussions

Prior to purchase, the vehicle was taken to a McLaren specialist for a pre-sale inspection. This inspection was:
Arranged by the dealer side (not by me)
Paid for by them
No written inspection report was ever provided to me although it was given the ok
Following this, I was advised the car was fine to proceed with.

I was also offered a third-party warranty, which I was told would cover future issues. In order to proceed, I was required to pay £2,500 for this warranty. (Rennworks warranty)

At the same time, I was presented with paperwork implying that by proceeding in this way I would not be relying on statutory consumer rights. This later became a key point of dispute.

During a later conversation, Invictus stated that their position on responsibility and rights was influenced by their own beliefs, including reference to Islamic principles, and that under those principles they did not consider themselves responsible in the same way. I am simply reporting what was said to me. Statutory consumer rights under UK law apply regardless of personal or religious belief.

Catastrophic failure shortly after purchase

Shortly after purchase, the vehicle suffered a sudden and catastrophic engine failure. (4 months)

Invictus told me to go through the warranty!

An independent McLaren specialist inspected the vehicle and produced:
A written technical report
Video evidence
Confirmation of internal oil shaft failure
Confirmation that the failure was not wear and tear, not misuse, and not service-related
The report confirmed:
The defect was latent
It would not be detectable during a normal pre-sale inspection
Repair costs were estimated at £20,000–£30,000 minimum
Dealer response

The supplying dealer’s position was that:
They did not accept liability under the Consumer Rights Act
The defect could not have been detected at the point of sale
Repair was refused on the basis that the cost was “disproportionate”
After this, communication from the supplying dealer largely ceased, despite repeated formal requests for engagement.

Finance company involvement

Because the vehicle was purchased on regulated finance, the matter was escalated to the finance provider under the Consumer Rights Act and Section 75.

Key points:
The finance company repeatedly requested engagement and evidence from the supplying dealer
The dealer failed to respond within required timeframes
The independent specialist report was accepted as credible
I was confirmed not to be liable for storage, recovery, or diagnostic costs
Final thoughts / warning to others

I’m sharing this experience to inform others, not to speculate or exaggerate. All of the above is supported by written correspondence and technical reports.

However, based on my personal experience, I would strongly advise avoiding Invictus Motors. In my opinion, the way responsibility, consumer rights, and accountability were handled raised serious concerns. Being encouraged to pay £2,500 for a warranty while statutory rights were downplayed, and then having responsibility deflected when a major fault occurred

Avoid at all costs if you value your consumer rights!! Funny the fronted company is now being dissolved

If a fault occurs in the first 6 months it’s deemed to be present at purchase and dealership have one chance to rectify - they ignored everything!

Mr. Havvas is not a first-time customer. He has previously both sold a vehicle to us and purchased a 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, a transaction which concluded without issue. At that time, Mr. Havvas expressed that he was thoroughly satisfied with our service, communication, and conduct throughout the transaction. This established relationship was a key factor in our decision to accommodate his later requests in respect of the McLaren transaction.

The McLaren 570S in question also benefits from an extensive and well-documented service history. Throughout its life, the vehicle was maintained exclusively by McLaren main dealers and Thorney Motorsport, a recognised and respected McLaren specialist. Thorney Motorsport had maintained the vehicle for approximately the last five years prior to sale and had carried out all routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and any required cosmetic or ancillary work. There were no outstanding service requirements, warnings, or known issues at the time the vehicle was supplied.

Less than two weeks prior to the reported engine issue, Mr. Havvas arranged and completed a service and MOT at an independent McLaren specialist of his own choosing. This work was not arranged, influenced, or controlled by us. The vehicle passed it’s MOT, during the service no issues in relation to engine condition, lubrication system faults, or internal mechanical concerns were raised.

The customer took possession of the vehicle from us on Friday 15 August 2025, prior to the commencement of the finance agreement, specifically to allow him to carry out his own independent inspection. This inspection took place on Saturday 16 August 2025 and the vehicle was accepted without issue.

Following this, the customer retained uninterrupted possession and control of the vehicle.

On Wednesday 29 October 2025, the customer messaged to confirm that the vehicle was operating normally and that a service had been booked. No complaints, concerns, or warning signs were raised in relation to engine performance, oil pressure, drivability, or mechanical condition.

On Monday 3 November 2025, the customer sent further WhatsApp messages confirming that the vehicle had passed its MOT, that only minor advisory items were noted (rear tyres), that the vehicle was “going well,”. No mechanical or engine-related issues were reported at that time.

These contemporaneous messages directly contradict any suggestion that the vehicle was exhibiting developing faults or warning signs prior to the reported failure.

At no point during these communications did the customer notify us of any abnormal noises, warning lights, oil pressure warnings, drivability issues, or performance degradation. The vehicle had therefore been independently inspected, independently serviced, independently MOT’d, and positively reported on by the customer himself shortly before the incident.

The engine failure reportedly occurred after this period, following continued use of the vehicle while entirely under the customer’s control.

Accordingly, assertions suggesting ignored defects, pre-existing warning signs, or failure to engage are not supported by the documented timeline, service history, or the customer’s own written communications.

Absolutely do NOT recommend purchasing…

Absolutely do NOT recommend purchasing anything from Invictus Motors. Bought a Porsche Boxster from them which was listed as being in perfect health, and was surprised to see that the clutch slipped immediately after purchase, and there was an engine issue. The car was also on cut springs which were extremely loosely installed after Basheer of Invictus Motors claimed it was on racing springs. The car was in a dangerous condition and they happily sold it to a 21 year old. I won in court regarding this in October as they refused to take the car back. They still have not paid the judgement and cite 'financial difficulty'. The staff are rude and will ignore you, and personally in my case made racist comments to my ethnicity. Basheer will appear personable and welcoming in person to entice you into purchasing their stock, but as soon as any issue arises will lose his temper and become immediately unprofessional. If a Porsche Boxster was sold which such issues I hesitate to imagine what their more expensive cars may have covered up. Cannot recommend any less terrible company and staff.

We are sorry to read your comments and would like to provide accurate clarification for anyone reading this review.

• Vehicle & sale – You purchased a 2005 Porsche Boxster (registration MV05 CFF) from Invictus Motors in December 2023 for £4,995. The vehicle was clearly described and declared to you in writing as previously accident-damaged / insurance write-off, was around 19 years old and had 90,428 miles at the time of sale. By October 2025 you had put in excess of 15,000 miles on the Porsche Boxster.
• Pre-sale checks – Before purchase, you and your father were provided with a Health Check, Borescope Inspection and Over-Rev Report, all confirming that the vehicle was roadworthy. You both test-drove and inspected the car thoroughly and were satisfied, negotiating a £199 reduction before completing the purchase.
• Clutch and engine – The car was brought back for a test drive with our director after you mentioned a possible clutch concern. The vehicle was driven for over 30 minutes and no clutch slip or engine fault was identified. You agreed to continue using the car and monitor it. You later chose to carry out unauthorised clutch replacement several thousand miles later, without informing us or allowing inspection.
• Suspension / springs – The Boxster had previously been professionally lowered for handling improvement not by us. It was not sold with unsafe or “cut” springs, and you continued driving for many months before replacing them by choice to return the car to factory ride height.
• Use of the vehicle – From purchase in Dec 2023 until July 2025 you covered approximately 14,533 miles, and as of October 2025 the vehicle remains in daily use. This demonstrates that the car has remained reliable and roadworthy.
• Court proceedings – We are aware of the small-claims proceedings; our position and full defence were filed with the court and are a matter of public record. We are currently following the proper post-judgment process with the court.
• Conduct and language – We categorically deny that any member of staff made offensive or discriminatory remarks. Invictus Motors has zero-tolerance policies on such behaviour. What we take issue with is you were claiming for costs worth more than the value of the vehicle itself, which is bizarre. After doing circa 15,000 miles, you had in total spent circa £1,500, not bad for a circa 20 year Porsche.
• Customer service – We strive to resolve any genuine issues promptly and courteously. We regret that you have chosen to post inaccurate or misleading statements rather than engage directly to reach an amicable resolution.

We remain open to constructive communication and invite you to contact us directly at enquiries@invictusmotors.co.uk so we can close this matter professionally.

I was sold car

I was sold car, tried to reject due to multiple faults and the car not being fit for purpose (sale of goods act). Sent multiple messages, emails, recorded letters. Advice from citizens advice and now going legal. Spend £59k on a car and received the worst after care. Warranty doesn’t cover the faults or the brand of car… do not buy from this company. Absolute robbers.

AVOID

AVOID, read negative reviews.
Spent over £21500 on a car from them, turned up with cracked tyres, fault codes on dash I was assured would clear, wrong parts fitted by their own mechanics and the list goes on....
Took the car to main dealer and oil leaking everywhere including on DPF so regen would have caused a fire.
So far spent £7000 on this car trying to get it right. Unresponsive once things go wrong but quick on the phone when you're buying. Not interested trying to get the car right, offered hush money so I didn't write a bad review. Year has passed now so I'm having my say. Also avoid the warranty company they upsell to you, also useless.

Update, this is definitely the Invictus Motors stated, I have all emails, WhatsApp messages to prove what has been said by them, how many times you ignored me, the final ' settlement offer' in exchange for no online review.

In the year I've owned the car you delivered to me it's been on the road for half of that.

We’re very concerned to read your comments, but we have been unable to find any record of you, your vehicle, or the work you describe in our system.

We trade as Invictus Motors (Porsche specialist based in Hertfordshire/Essex) and do not have premises or operations in Nottingham. There is another business with a similar name – Invictus Automotive in Nottingham – and it appears your experience may relate to them rather than to us.

We take all feedback seriously and would never offer “hush money” in exchange for reviews. If you believe this may be a mix-up, please contact us directly with your full name, registration number and invoice details so we can double-check: enquiries@invictusmotors.co.uk or 01279 940176.

I can honestly say the best experience of buying a car ever.

I strongly advise anyone considering…

I strongly advise anyone considering this dealership to stay well away. In all my years buying cars, I’ve never encountered someone as sarcastic, arrogant, and condescending as Basheer. From the moment I spoke with him, his attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. It seemed that because I have a Yorkshire accent and share a similar ethnic background, he felt he could speak down to me — which is completely unacceptable. If this is how they treat customers, I’d seriously question how they run the rest of their business. There are plenty of dealerships that understand the importance of respect and good customer service — this one clearly doesn’t.
