Misleading Return Policy and Extremely Poor Customer Service

Delivery was fast and the products arrived neatly packaged. However, my experience with customer service afterward was extremely poor.

Before placing my order, I specifically checked the return policy. The website clearly states that prepaid return labels are available for orders from the Netherlands. However, when I initiated a return (I only returned one bikini set because it was not true to size), there was no option to generate a return label. I was forced to arrange and pay for the return myself, which resulted in very high costs.

Customer service later claimed this was because my order was shipped from a warehouse in Germany. This was never communicated to me beforehand. Despite this, I was required to return the package to Finland, increasing the costs even further. This directly contradicts the information on the website.

After multiple attempts to resolve this, customer service refused to offer any form of compensation and stated that I should have contacted them in advance—despite the fact that I had no way of knowing my order would be shipped from Germany.

Overall, this is a very disappointing experience and not what you would expect from a modern webshop with premium pricing. The return information on the website is clearly misleading, and that is a serious issue that should not be allowed.

Not suitable for larger busts

I bought a swimsuit and a bikini here and checked the website beforehand to see if they were suitable for larger busts. The website did not clearly indicate that the fit is not flattering for larger breasts.

After trying on the bikini top, I realized I didn’t need to try on the bottoms because the sizing wasn’t right. To my surprise, after returning the items I received a message saying there was a stain on the bottoms, even though I hadn’t even taken them out of the packaging.

Because of this service and the poor fit for larger busts, I would not recommend ordering here.

Jeg køber ikke herfra igen og kan heller ikke anbefale andre at gøre det samme.

Zuverlässiger Versand, nachhaltig verpackt.
Es ist mir wichtig diese Marke zu bewerten, ich habe mich für den Badeanzug Sienna entschieden, er ist wirklich unglaublich schön, tolles Material, super Sitz.Die Größen fallen normal aus.Der Schnitt ist schmeichelhaft, und er ist unglaublich bequem, macht auch im nassen Zustand eine gute Figur!!

Beautiful Bikini, Care Instructions Could Be Clearer

The bikini looks really beautiful and the fabric feels nice and high quality. Unfortunately, I was disappointed after washing it. I washed the bikini at 30°C on a delicate cycle, and afterwards the seams started coming loose in several places.

Only after that did I notice on the website that the bikini should be washed by hand only. While this was my mistake, I do think it would be much better if clear care instructions were included in the package or attached to the bikini itself. That would have helped avoid this issue.

Especially for such a delicate item, clear washing instructions are very important. It’s a shame, because otherwise I really liked the bikini.

I cannot recommend buying from this…

I cannot recommend buying from this brand. Poor fit if you have a larger bust and terrible customer service. I bought a bikini and a swimsuit and while neither had a good fit I really needed some swimwear on that date so chose to keep the bikini and send the swimsuit back. Because of a small white mark from trying a swimsuit on at home (with underwear) I was charged 30% of the price when I returned. The little mark was so tiny I didn’t even see it myself. Had I noticed it before sending it back I could have easily removed it with a damp cloth in two seconds. Why do I have to pay so much for this small effort from their side? It is not like they are throwing it out. When buying a quite expensive product I expect some level of service and even from cheap brands I have never experienced something like this. I feel ripped off!
I got a bad vibe even before this happened when I was registering the return. I was “begged” to buy something else, by being offered extra money back if I chose store credits. But I will never buy from this shop again, that is for sure!

I understand how frustrating it is when fit wasn't right for you, especially if you needed the swimwear for a specific occasion.

As swimwear is a hygiene-sensitive item, all returned items must be in fully resalable condition. Unfortunately, if a returned item shows any marks, we’re unable to resell it as new - that wouldn't be fair for our other customers. In these cases, our policy allows for a partial refund, or alternatively, getting the item shipped back to you.

Regarding the store credit - this is always offered as an optional alternative, as many customers prefer it for an exchange, added value or a future purchase. There is absolutely no obligation to choose it, and we always also offer a monetary refund back to your original payment method.:) We are grateful for your feedback and will re-think the display of the different options so it doesn't cause any uncertainty.

exceeded my expectations in every way

After having my eye on Lilja the Label’s bikinis for quite a while, I finally treated myself to a few pieces during their sale a few weeks ago and my experience has been amazing in every way. The quality and fit of the bikinis are truly great, and in my opinion, you can really feel the difference compared to fast fashion brands.

What impressed me the most, though, was the exceptionally kind customer service. There was an issue with the first shipment (which wasn’t Lilja’s fault), but it was handled very quickly and professionally. Later, when I reached out again because I needed a few items in a different size, I was once more treated with friendly and caring support. I especially appreciated having the same contact person, Mimosa, throughout the process. It made communication much easier and more personal.

Overall, I’m truly satisfied, both with the products and the service and highly recommend Lilja the Label!

Kann ich absolut nicht empfehlen!

Bikini war leider viel zu klein und musste zurück geschickt werden. Das kann natürlich sein, auch den Rückverand selbst zu zahlen, ist schade, aber noch ok. ABER von Österreich nach Deutschland dauert der Rückgabeprozess schon mehrere Wochen. Der Kundenserice kann nicht weiterhelfen und vertröstet um weitere Wochen! Normalerweise dauert eine Rücksendung 2-3 Tage. Bezahlen musste ich natürlich im Voraus, mein Geld sehe ich wohl nicht mehr und die Ware ist auch weg. Ich kann leider nur abraten, hier zu bestellen!

In terms of locating your return, we will of course do all we can to speed up the process and to locate your parcel. We do agree that return shipping from Austria to Germany is usually only a few business days. I do see you were in contact with a team member 5 days ago, and rest assured, she is investigating the issue and has alerted the warehouse.

We always advise sending returns with a tracked service to avoid such situations — however, please rest assured we’re doing all we can to help in every way possible. While return shipments sent without tracking are outside of our responsibility once handed over to the postal service, if the parcel is deemed lost in the end, we will of course work with you to find a fair and suitable solution.

In the meantime, we do ask for your patience as we are absolutely as worried a you are and want to ensure the situation gets a solution. 🫂

Cute bikini - awful service

Cute bikini, but very disappointing customer experience
The bikini itself is cute, but the overall experience was frustrating—especially in Germany. I had to walk a long way just to pick up the parcel, and I had to pay for the return shipping myself. To make matters worse, I will never get a full refund because of a tiny stain on one of the returned items. For such an expensive brand, I expected much better service. Unfortunately, I won’t be buying from them again.

Unfortunately as a small brand, we aren't able to offer completely free returns. However, we do offer free exchanges in case a customer wishes to change sizes, or even the style completely. This is communicated on our website, but I do understand how frustrating it is when something doesn't fit perfectly when shopping online - and therefore, we still offer the free exchange of size/style as an option :)

When it comes to swimwear, we need to be very strict about the condition of returned items, as it's a hygiene product. Ich rate absolut von einer Bestellung bei dieser Firma ab! Der Firmensitz ist in Finnland. Die Kosten für den Rückversand müssen selbst übernommen werden und es gibt auch keine volle Kostenerstattung. Das Päckchen das ich weggeschickt hatte, wurde nicht angenommen und deshalb wieder zu mir zurückgeschickt. Kurz...Ich bleibe auf der Ware und dem Geld sitzen. Finger weg von dieser Firma!
