Lovely item but customer service a bit lacking
The item I ordered from Lottie and Lysh, I must say is lovely (a bubble bum type baby sweater). It’s really well made and lovely and soft, fleece lined material.
There are a couple of reasons for only three stars. As the items are made to order it took a couple of weeks for my item to reach me. I understand this but maybe didn’t appreciate the delay when ordering and some email updates or some communication in the meantime would have been useful to reassure me.
Secondly the item is 12-18 months in sizing. My daughter is 12 months and not particularly tall but the jumper is already on the cusp of being too small in length as the poppers underneath are tight to do up. I wrote to the seller about this as I was a bit disappointed, the item wasn’t cheap, and no response from them. I think the customer service could be improved especially when the items fetch a decent price.
That said, I reiterate the item is of good quality, I’m just not sure i would recommend or order again.

With regards to the additional points you raise above, we thank you for your feedback regarding turnaround times. Unfortunately as a small business, with just 3 of us undertaking all tasks here from conceptualisation to production, we do not have the manpower to provide additional updates throughout the process, although we agree it would certainly be desirable. Doing so would increase production times by a considerable amount. We have tried to provide enough information on the website, individual product descriptions and order confirmation emails to emphasise the made to order aspect of our business and the associated turnaround times, but appreciate this info can be missed if segments aren't read in full. You can also swerve turnaround times by shopping via the Stock Drop Collection (https://lottieandlysh.co.uk/collections/stock-drop) items within this section are pre-made and available with same/next working day dispatch.

Nice outfit, poor system
The little outfit is lovely, nice quality, soft and super cute pattern. Really pleased with the actual garment which is a gift.
The ordering process was simple and there was no mention that the material was out of stock. Ordered 5th September and when I enquired where the item was a few weeks later I was advised there was a delay in the material. It’s finally arrived in October thankfully on time before baby arrival. But I wouldn’t feel confident about ordering from Lottie & Lysh again unless the website was much clearer about timescales and stock. I was advised if material was out of stock then it would take 2 weeks for delivery but this was exceeded. I was offered to choose something else instead etc. but I wanted this exact item. I didn’t feel reassured that the order would finally arrive. Thankfully it did!
But like I said, the outfit is cute. Just maybe don’t order without confirmation that patterns are in stock especially if it’s needed soon.

As predominantly a made to order business it is tricky to predict turnaround times which is why our 14 day turnaround period is noted as average. Unfortunately we are unable to predict order volume for particular prints, especially following a high-profile share which can lead to a fabric selling out much quicker than usual, and whilst we'd love to, as a small business in the current climate, the cost of holding larger volumes of fabrics in stock is not a feasible option - but is certainly something we would like to achieve again when retail (hopefully) returns to normal.
If a fabric unexpectedly sells out we always offer a refund, fabric switch or free sizing up of the item to ensure the most use which was the case here, however like you say you opted to wait it out for the original fabric to arrive which thankfully it did, with enough time for us to fulfil your order and get it to you in time for your required date.
For any future orders, and future customers, you can shop our in stock & ready to ship range via the Stock Drop Collection lined below. These items are pre-made and available with same/next working day dispatch. We try top keep this section topped up with our top sellers and new arrivals as we best we can but ultimately as an ethical and sustainable business it does not align with our brand's vision to hold large quantities of pre-made stock that may not sell and for that reason most items remain on a made to order basis.

If you accidentally navigate away from this section then you can also check the turnaround time of individual items in the product description - with pre-made items having an extra, bold, coloured heading at the top of the description indicating that it is in stock and ready to dispatch. Items made to order are done so with an average turnaround to dispatch of 14 days as detailed in the product descriptions and the large majority of our orders are fulfilled well within that period.
In addition, if an order is needed for a certain date then you can also pop a note on the order at the checkout to let us know. We can see this note, even before printing the order sheet, so we will know to prioritise production and ensure it reaches you in time.
Clothing was made beautifully
Clothing was made beautifully, good quality fabrics used and great finishing. They were gifts for family friend and they absolutely loved the designs. Be aware you need to allow 14 days for delivery which I didn’t realise but once I emailed with my date needed the owner was more than happy to send out straight away so it wasn’t late.

Great quality, worth waiting for.
