Narayan was so helpful and patient from first booking through to the holiday.
Tours and hotels very good apart from Ho Chin Minh which was a bit outdated . The Nesta hotel in Hanoi was superb rooms and.breakfast superb .
Highlight the Cruise in Halong Bay tranquil and peaceful till our birthday party at night .
Only negative, we found out by other's on our group internal flight a third of our price !

We had an overall good experience but Hotel location is critical and can make or break the event.
We had an overall good experience and good company but not as good as we would have liked. Thankfully, were no BAD moments. Just not consistent very good moments. We did the SE Asia 3 week, 4 country trip. There was just too much hit and miss on hotels, mostly their location and not the hotel itself and a few of the guides and their agencies just did not communicate in advance enough of timing and what to expect. Regarding hotels, they need to be in a location where toursis want to be, ie. near restaurants, night activity, and other activities or sites. We found that some of the big city hotels were nice but in a not desirable part of town. The worst was the Century Park hotel in Bangkok. It was nice hotel but in a horrible location. You had to travel away from the hotel area for everything. Making matters worse, the traffic in Bangkok is so bad that when you traveled away for one of the daily tours, or any other area to visit, you spent far too much time sitting in traffic. When we were on tours, we were that last hotel drop, literally 1 hour further away from the day's event than other hotel drop offs. I highly suggest that you vet hotels better for desirable locations. You are doing fine with the quality of the hotel itself. Regarding guides, offer us to review each of them if we desire. It literally seemed that we were asked to rate the really good ones and the ones that needed improvement, we were not asked to rate. On two occasions we were not offered meals per the itinerary:Dinner the day of arrival in Luang Prabang, and Lunch in Vientiane the day of arrival. Two tours that we did not care for and do not recommend are the half day railway market and Damnern Saduak Floating Market which was far too much of a tourist trap selling stuff and the Tonle Sap Lake Tour which did not offer much at all and was also too much of a tourist event trying to sell items.

Fantastic Holiday, Cambodia and Vietnam Highlights.
Couple down side were the size of the group which we thought was going to be 22, when we got there found out the group was nearer 40.
Communication once you get there not great at times.
Emm Hotel Ho Chi Minh poor.
On a positive note you do get to see a hell of a lot in a short period of time.
I would also recommend the internal flight especially the Phnom Penh - Ho Chi Minh as were told by our group the boarder crossing was terrible and took ages.

Great plans for a complex trip, thank you Lumle!
Lumle was responsive to complex pre-travel requests and this was very appreciated and made a big difference. Specifically, I needed to avoid a flight through China, and Lumle came through with a fantastic KoreanAir flight. All provider services that Lumle worked with proved to be very professional, and we genuinely enjoyed them. The fine airport driver from the Hanoi airport to our hotel was a good example. Although we desired to tip drivers, waitresses and hoteliers--and we did tip them--we absolutely never felt pressured to do so.
I have one suggestion, though. I am not a "get a massage" person, yet I got my 2nd ever at the amazing Spa Resort Lumle booked in Hoi An, Vietnam. It was very professional, but truly amazing and the best value that I have ever seen or even heard of. This was a really big value-add for this resort, but that benefit should probably be emphasized much more, prior to travel. For us, it was a really nice quality add-on. My lower back went stiffness-free for 3 weeks after I got that massage. Their bamboo bar over the river was also so cool. This resort was hands-down the best on our trip agenda.

Excellent, well organised tour of Kerala.
This is the second trip we have made with Lumle and once again it didn't disappoint.
We have just returned from a tour of Kerala. The tour was really well organised, an interesting itinerary, superb driver and guides , good standard of accomodation and great value for money.
My only negative comment would be that there isn't enough time allowed for the Delhi Cochin connection, which we missed. Luckily we managed to get on to the next flight but we lost holiday time in Cochin which was a shame.
We would not hesitate to use Lumle again in the future.

Lumle tour in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos & Thailand
The tour was well-organised on the whole and the itinerary was accurate. We received the detailed itinerary 2 weeks before the holiday but I had to request some of the information earlier that was needed for visas also, which was provided very quickly.
We were met at each arrival point, but in Luang Prabang it took about half an hour and a few messages with the local contact to find the rep, who had someone else’s name.
In Siem Reap and Bangkok we received all the tour and pick-up timings on our arrival for that section of the tour, which would be helpful for all the reps, as I had to message the Vietnam reps to find out when the airport taxis were collecting us. In Bangkok the tour guides were expecting us to give them tickets which had not been provided, so some communication needed there.
The tour guides were all very knowledgeable and where we were the only ones on the tour they were flexible with timings and the guide in Luang Prabang even added a couple of things to the tour, such as feeding elephants.
Hotels were generally good but consideration should be given about using Villa Oasis in Luang Prabang going forward as they seem to give already booked rooms away to large groups and move people into another (worse) hotel- also the electric tripped each morning (therefore you have to shower by torchlight and no aircon).
Flights and transfers were all good.
If doing a similar trip I would prefer to be able to choose which tours to go on, as we found that we didn’t have enough rest time between tours and flights.

Excellent tour which exceeded expectations. Two world heritage sites and a fabulous pristine beach hotel at Beruwala.
One of the highlights was hiking up Sigiriya Rock (otherwise known as Lion Rock). Another was the Temple of Sacred Tooth, located in Kandy, which holds the relic of the left upper canine tooth of Lord Buddha himself. The Kandy botanical garden was also fabulous.

Cambodia and Vietnam We had a great time on our tour of…
We had a great time on our tour of Cambodia and Vietnam.
The hotels were as described although some were a little small if you were living out of large suitcases due to you only being in the hotel for 2 or 3 nights.
Our first transfer from Siem Riep to the hotel was great as we had a coach which was 3 seats across and had plenty of legroom, unfortunately the coaches used for the much longer transfers to Phomh Penn and Ho Chi Minn city were standard 4 seats across which if you are 6 foot plus are quite a struggle. Having said that all the transfer coaches were air conditioned with plenty of water provided and were well organised with regular stops for rest breaks etc.
The excursions were well organised and although there were some very early starts were on the whole appropriate and well organised.
The holiday in general was great value for money and we have already booked with Lumle again to go to South America next year.

India Trip
Absolutely fabulous 12 day trip to India with Lumle Holidays. Our tour guide (Gurg) was abolutely superb. His knowledge of every location, his story telling, his advice on dealing with local merchants, his handling of hotel staffs and additional tour guides as well as recommendations for eating etc were all exemplary. The hotel accommodations were all perfect, the coach driver was first rate and we felt safe at all times. The assistant on the coach was extremely pleasant and courteous at all times and he ensured we were rehydrated as well as ensuring our safety when we were getting on and off the coach. They also kept it clean and well air conditioned. All in all a brilliant tour and excellent value for money. Thank you for making our experience a wonderful, positive one.

We did a ladies trip with Lumle…
We did a ladies trip with Lumle Holidays for the Golden Triangle Ranthambore 12 days and it was amazing. It was our first time using Lumle Holiday and so we were a little anxious. However, the tour company took care of us very well from start to finish. It was a very smooth trip, well coordinated. I will use Lumle Holiday again for my future ladies trip. Our biggest worries is deciding where to go next. Thank you Lumle Holiday for making our trip memorable and our tour guide was amazing as well. Thank you!

price good for what was included in the package
great: - local tour guides were generally very good, enthusiastic with lots of helpful information
- price for tour, good flights & hotel
- drivers, organization, and timing of pick up for the tours
- always water for us, which was much appreciated
good: - cities visited, quality of hotels, tourist spots
good, but could be better: - communications from lumle was good and always replied in a timely manner. would be nice if we received the important info sooner: flights, hotel info, travel visas required, etc
- as mentioned above, most of the tour guides were excellent. but on a tour, it would be nice if the tour guides would give us more information (on the places we're visiting while driving ). also, one tour guide kept talking about himself and, and not about our destination).
not good: - the day we drove 8 hrs from cambodia into vietnam. there was a few washroom breaks but no food breaks. that information should have been given to everyone so they could prepare for it.
- the border crossing into vietnam was chaotic. our tour guide didn't seem to know the process. our passports were collected but not sure where they went. we were told to give some money if we want to get through faster (bribe??). there didn't seem to be any rules.
otherwise, had a wonderful time with the new friends we met along the way.

Your comments about guide commentary and the overland journey from Cambodia into Vietnam are also well noted. Your note about food stops on long drives is very helpful, and we will work with our ground team to better inform guests about such days in advance.

Well organised
Well organised, Interesting and Informative tour.
Hotels were clean and well appointed although not necessarily sited in an area where you could walk to explore the immediate vicinity.
Disappointed that there was not a bar in our first hotel.

Easy and Smooth Logistics
The Transportation pick-ups and deliveries were smooth and relatively undramatic. I was impressed when flying into Bangkok from Seoul on a one hour delayed flight, Lumle had a person there at the airport to take us to the hotel at well after midnight! The guides were always on time with clean buses for the excursions well supplied with humor, knowledge and water. They stopped for bio breaks and stretching every two hours on long excursions and they really cared about our comfort and needs.

Excellent service, excellent value, highly recommended
Before booking our holiday, Narayan at Lumle responded swiftly to our many queries - and there were a lot! - in a very friendly and professional manner. We booked a bespoke private tour to India and everything was extremely well organised. We were given a local contact whom we could WhatsApp at any time during our tour, and she responded
within minutes every time. The local guides were excellent and, at every hotel en route, a local contact was there to check us in and confirm the itinerary. Our driver was friendly, skilful and attentive. We were initially concerned about paying a large deposit, but realise that this was necessary to secure all the hotels, flights etc. The ATOL certificate also provided much-needed reassurance. The tour was excellent value and Narayan managed to beat the price of a group Mercury Holidays tour with exactly the same itinerary - and, of course, our tour was private! Even better, we could alter the "Mercury" hotels to suit our preferences. We are already liaising with Lumle on a holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia.
