Services is based on favouritism and biases
This is a review for Delta Hotel by Marriott at Ditton Road, Windsor, post code SL3 8PT in UK.
I booked a king suite room for 12 days for my family. Initially when I wanted to park my car for few hours, the reception gracefully registered my car registration without any charges.
But after nearly a week, the lady named Cristal at the reception made me aware that I need to be charged for number of hours I want to park for. I was charged and Cristal also made me aware that, I should have been charged from the beginning of staying and even though the price of the room is on premium side, I was not given a complementary service to park my car for just few hours in a day.
I felt, I am left out with an awkward experience which leads me to think the hotel operates under the practice of favouritism based on biases.
Marriott management, I really wanted to book some board room for my business opportunities at this hotel venue but after this service experience I would think otherwise.
Can you consider this feedback as an opportunity for service experience improvement and refund my car parking charges?thanks!
Avoid Marriott, stay elsewhere
Still waiting for a partial refund/compensation for my stay.
Marriott room:
2812 - Istanbul, Sisli
Confirmation number: 71402161
16th May - 24th May.
16th May arrival day:
Shower door leaking, soaking bath mat each time.
Black mould on tiles,
Broken shower fitting,
The slippers packet was half ripped open and soiled (I put them in the trash can in the bathroom)
WiFi constantly disconnects literally after few minutes.
Monday 20th May: 14:48pm
Room service food order only gave me half of what I asked for
"Gluten free muesli with berries"
No berries, just muesli received....
Have to wait 30 minutes and call reception 3 times to get the rest of my food!
Somebody opened my room door, without knocking then closed it again when they saw I was sat in bed.
Rang reception to complain, was told she will check CCTV and let me know.
Complained about faulty TV for second time again.
Maintenance man came earlier it was working temporarily, now none of the buttons work and it freezes.
Wednesday 22nd May:
Ordered breakfast bircher muesli with almond milk, instead got bakery/bread selection.
A piece of metal was dropped into my carrot juice.
I received an omellette with no ingredients in it, literally just egg!
I requested all ingredients on the menu (mushroom, jambo, onions, cheese etc)
When I asked for sheep/goat cheese I was told they didn't have any (despite the fact they offer the sheep cheese as part of the Turkish breakfast)
Ripped off and overcharged for room service.
Complained to: Bonvoy dot stay at marriott dot com
Requesting compensation, and I've heard nothing back - very convenient
Stayed one night at the Delta Marriott…
Stayed one night at the Delta Marriott Huntingdon, rang day before to see if I could book in at noon, which they obliged.
Room was great, large with good facilities, big HD TV about 50", everything was very clean with a comfortable bed and bedding.
Staff we're polite and friendly ,sorted out a taxi for me twice.
Only downside was the evening meal, chicken Caesar salad, chicken overcooked and dry and the amount of lettuce was ridiculous,Aldi wouldn't sell that much lettuce in one day !!! that said good flavour dressing , parmesan and anchovies
Marriott County Hall. Great hotel terribly managed
The hotel location is good, though lots of walking inside due to its size. The pool is said to be open, though no changing facilities due to building works, only female toilet to change in and many builders wandering around pool while children swimming.
Management quite aggressive and arbitarily applying conditions on stay with saying booking will be cancelled unless agreeing.
The hotel emailed the invoice to the wrong person in family which caused issues and embarrassment.
After many stays globally at Marriott this stay has put me off the brand.
Overall maybe avoid till renovation complete and management changed/retrained.
Recruitment team is a Nightmare!
Hi,
I hope you're well.
I would be really grateful if you could provide some feedback on why my application was rejected. This is my third or fourth application that has not been successful with your recruiting team.
I’m eager to understand more about your hiring process and what qualities, skills, or experiences you’re looking for. This would be a great help for me in the future.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
Kind regards, Muhammad Fahad Masood
Terrible Stay Pure Hell
Terrible Stay - Pure Hell at
The Delta by Marriott Cheltenham Chase
I had the misfortune of staying at the Delta Hotel recently, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish. Here's a detailed account of my horrendous experience:
1. Broken I.T. Systems: We arrived at 7 pm, but due to their broken I.T. systems, we couldn't check in until 11 pm. Yes, you read that right—four hours of waiting!
2. Staff Avoidance: We asked four times if we could get somewhere to rest, but the staff kept avoiding us, claiming "there's nothing we can do because of the I.T. system." They repeatedly told us to wait "10 minutes," which turned into hours.
3. False Promises of Compensation: The staff promised that compensation would be settled after a management meeting. This was another stalling tactic, leading to more waiting with no resolution.
4. No Compensation: When we checked out the next day and asked about compensation for our terrible stay, we were told there would be none. We spent four hours in the lobby and had to buy drinks at the bar, yet stayed in our room for less than 12 hours.
5. Rude Staff Member: The worst part was an employee named Callum (no name tag, so who knows if it's real). He accused us of making a drama just to get compensation. Unbelievable! We paid in advance, yet were left in the lobby without rest, only to be blamed for the hotel’s system failure.
Callum claimed our reservation couldn't be found because they had mixed up my first and last names. This was somehow "my fault" as a foreigner not having a “correct” name in their system, and he took no responsibility for their booking system's mess. When I asked for more details, Callum refused, making me doubt his identity further.
I've attached a picture of this shameless employee. He ruined our vacation, had no accountability, and blamed us for their incompetence. This face should serve as a warning to future guests.
I've traveled to much rougher places and never imagined being blamed by customer service for simply asking for what I paid for. This experience was beyond ridiculous—pure hell.
Avoid Delta Hotel at all costs.
Update: General Manager Daniel Gough email me and want me to take this comment down.
Lying about what their staff tried to help and they never happened (1. Provide free drinks 2. Help to check with my FULL name in booking - they claim it would have solve the whole problem immediately and it is MY FAULT as a customer not to work with THEIR BROKEN IT SYSTEM. )
This is a joke and I am not arguing with these people anymore.
I am not coming to this out of nowhere place to beg for their compensation like our joker Callum suggested.
For everyone reading til here, this is the honest review you can actually have that they trying everything to take them down. Not the local tour guides that they expect to serve and pay for their reviews.
For you the whoever you are from Delta, check your cctv and see who is lying here, and it would be your own staff. Or you knew it already and trying to cover it with more lies - Hi Daniel!
County Hall, London
I booked directly through Marriott for a same day booking. I was travelling with my disabled young daughter on my own but booked a family room as I had a friend joining me to support us later that day as husband having major surgery in London hospital.
On arrival at the check in having to wait a significant period of time, the gentleman asked the reason for my stay. I explained that we were exhausted and need a comfortable room as here for one night whilst my husband was in critical care. I was informed that the hotel had hardly any double rooms and the room I had booked was in great demand. The gentleman informed me that whilst he “hated” the room he was going to have to allocate me he had no choice. He offered to include breakfast but I pointed out that I had already pains for breakfast when I had booked the room.
I was not told that there was construction in the hotel, let alone on the floor my room was booked, my daughter has to wear ear defenders so this was not ideal having to walk through the construction every time I left the room. The trim was not like the room advertised. It was small, looked out onto a brick wall and had no seating at all. I complained and was moved to a family room that partially overlooked the London eye and was the type of room that I had booked online. How strange that I was informed there would be none available. I even offered to pay to upgrade.
There is no disable access at the front of the hotel, you are informed that you have to use a side entrance and I believe that as I was a woman travelling with a disabled child buggy that we were discriminated against.
What an incredible disappointment, when I contacted the hotel via email I had no response until a week later when I contacted them again and was offered 10000 Marriott points! I will not be using Marriott again and do not accept them.
Ireland Customer Service Centre Appalling
I have been a member of Marriott Bonvoy program for a very long time. I have spent over 2 years of my life living in the Marriott brand hotels.
However their customer service centre in Ireland is absolutely appalling. On several occasions I have had instances where I have had to call, the staff are either unhelpful or like today the manager I spoke to was abrupt and extremely rude. Not exactly what you would expect for a loyal member. However it’s the complete opposite when you call their customer service centre in the USA they cannot do enough for you.
It’s about time Marriott got their act together when it comes to their customer service department in Ireland as its absolute disgrace.
This absurd company has broken data…
This absurd company has broken data protection laws by filling my inbox with dozens of absolute drivel emails, despite my requesting that they stop, many, many times.
To date I have forwarded 10 of their unsolicited junk emails to the ICO who are now investigating them.
I have never been a customer of this company; I have never consented to them emailing me; and I have never asked to join their spam email lists, so their data law infractions are as confounding as they are unwarranted.
Avoid this grotesque company unless you want your data abused, your inbox filled and your patience tried to the point you contemplate violence.
Excellent breakfast excellent customer service highly recommended
Excellent breakfast. Excellent clean room and bathroom. Really enjoyed our stay. Stayed in Exec room. It’s well worth it. Highly recommend based on our experience in Leicester. Customer service on check-in was excellent, at breakfast it was exceptional. Come and stay for the breakfast at Leicester Marriott. The lounge is excellent.
Negatives - tissues ran out. Would not cost a lot to have another spare box.
The tub / shower feels very dangerous. The drain was very very slow. I nearly slipped three times and this was after realising it was slippery.
Overall - I highly recommend Marriott Leicester near Fosse Park. I would definitely stay here again. When I visit next and stay over I will stay here
Room not fit for purpose!
Room not fit for purpose!
We stayed fir one night at the Marriott Residence Inn in Edinburgh.
The room was far far too hot.
No air conditioning.
The room smelled damp and smelled like dirty towels.
There were dust balls on floor.
There was no extractor in bathroom/ toilet.
The dishwasher beeped during night as had been left in mid-cycle with dirty water inside.
Building noise outside started at 7am.
We were unable to sleep at all in humid heat - felt like being in a dirty oven.
We both had no sleep and started next day absolutely exhausted, sweaty and dirty. The suite was too hot and humid and smelly even to have a shower. We were going to look around Edinburgh, but we were so exhausted, we went straight home. It took us two days to recover.
Those rooms are not fit for purpose.
Marriot delta Swansea not be back …
Just checked in long day of traveling and to start I get told I need to to pay for the room , I had paid as I do with all my rooms as a business we book fifteen to twenty rooms a month got that sorted , than breakfast my booking never allowed for it , on hotels.com it’s £10 the duty manager wants to charge me £14 it only £4 but the principle but the duty manager recomended a cafe fifteen minutes walk up the road for breakfast he’s real quality people person and had I not been traveling all day id leave now and head to village in Swansea 259 miles from home I expect more manners and not to looked upon as some idiot by the manager Bruno
Room was OK but robbed by breakfast
Room was OK. We were staying ahead of a flight out of Heathrow and arrived late Thursday evening. We were pressure sold breakfast the following morning by being told that it would be a lot cheaper if we booked it the night before. I was told by the lady on reception that we could cancel in the morning when we booked it. The kids were tired the following morning after the late arrival so we let them sleep in. When we tried to cancel breakfast we were told in the morning this was not possible. It felt like a scam and an opportunity to profiteer from customers given the hotel had not incurred any expense as a result of our cancelled booking. Will really make me question whether I stay at a Marriott again which is a shame as I have normally had a good experience.
Exceptional service and understanding
My stay was amazing at the Courtyard at Keele university.
It was myself and my son Josh who came to stay for the one night.
Josh is autistic and suffers from complex epilepsy. Once the hotel found out about my son's condition they did absolutely everything to make our stay a happy and easy one.
I explained my son likes a view from his room so the lady ( Kea ) on reception without hesitation said she would make a room available on the fifth floor for us which my son loved.
Dining can be a daunting experience for us but we were again looked after, this time James took us and placed us in a pod on our own where we had our own TV. Josh felt safe and was relaxed. James was lovely with Josh and interacted really well with him throughout.
Josh's diet can also be a stumbling block when dining out but again James along with the head chef worked with us to make something that was tailored for Josh's taste.
I can't recommend this hotel enough. Our stay was amazing and we have already booked in for a further two nights next week.
Thank you so much
Not clean
We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott St. Augustine Beach - February 2024
We booked a Queen Room With Two Queen Beds in this hotel originally for 3 night stay via the BONVOY app & since we've received no Guest Satisfaction Survey post stay, Trustpilot can have our review.
On the 1st night contacted the front desk to let them know one of the beds had not been changed & that it had dirty bed linen on, the front desk sent up a set clean sheets for us to change the bed ourselves. Told them it was not acceptable to expect us to do that & asked to change to a room that had clean bed linen.
They gave us a new room & on the 2nd night we saw a cockroach in the new room, asked the front desk for bug spray they had none, but told us there was a store a couple of miles away where we could buy some bug spray, not an acceptable suggestion. We cancelled the booked 3rd night & checked out the following morning, let the check out lady see photographs of the 2 filthy rooms we'd be assigned she apologized & credited us a $50.00 rebate, but that didn't solve the fact our experience didn't live up to Marriott's claim "Experience the world-class service and facilities".
Car Parking
Car Parking
We parked with Marriott Courtyard Gatwick during a family holiday 23/24. On returning to the car, it was underwater. It had been for many days and the hotel had failed to contact us. On doing so, we received no reply from their CEO (Chris Dexter) who instead passed the to their Operations Director (Malcolm Rain) (both Kew Green Hotels). Their response was that they accept no liability for the duty of care of the car.

Absolutely shocking customer service at…
Absolutely shocking customer service at Delta Marriott Birmingham. I’m due to attend a wedding in March. I’d booked a room, however, I have had a NHS letter for a total knee replacement, falling on 12th March (hotel room booked for 30th March). I have had to decline attending the wedding and with more than 3 months notice I have informed Marriott. They have outright refused to cancel the room for me. I never use Marriott hotels but had no choice to book this due to the wedding arrangements which I will no longer attend. I am shocked that they will not offer any cancellation options, simply keep suggesting rescheduling but why would I reschedule if I am not attending the wedding. I’m shocked at their service, I really am. They should offer a refund but they’re greedy so and so’s!!!
