I didn't like the fact that when certain facilities are advertised on their site, for instance the use of a swimming pool, and then suddenly become unavailable, the person who has booked the holiday is not informed.

Friendly neighbours, with useful info. Great location for us.

We rented a holiday cottage through Norfolk cottages. The Communication was great all throughout, the payment system was easy and everything we needed to know was communicated thoroughly. Would definitely recommend booking through this company.

Nice clean and comfortable little lodge

Good communications leading up to the holiday. I also had a couple of questions a few days before and the owners were quickly contacted and answers provided.

Alexandra Cottage is an extremely comfortable and well equipped house in a good location perfect for a three generation family holiday close to the beach and shops in Sheringham. The only possible drawback was the dining area which would be very cramped for 8 adults or teenagers- perfect for 6

Picture on the website was exactly as the real thing, The cottage was finished and furnished to a very high standard and delightfully remote with no phone signal and no wi-fi so the perfect retreat to wind down.

Fabulous property on the North Norfolk Coast, perfect for 5 women celebrating a special golden occasion. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms with an amazing entertaining space is what keeps us coming back along with the fact that we are stones throw from the train station, Sheringham, Cromer and Holt. We love it here and hope to be back for a 3rd time next year!

This is the second bad experience we have had with this Company and will be the last. We booked Northgate Cottage over the New Year in Stanhoe for a week we left after 3 days the cottage was filthy and contents needed throwing away. This company rely on their T&C's to dismiss any complaints with contempt then refuse to provide the owners details so you cannot claim a refund directly. Awful Company, awful Customer Service. They clearly do not inspect the properties they advertise so ignore their quality ratings completely.
The company’s reply to our review is a lie we provided photos during our stay and we couldn’t contact them as it was New Year and they were closed. We complained during our rental period not after.

I booked Blue Tile Farm Barn house from Norfolk Cottages (Booking Ref 5548738) for my family to stay a week over the Christmas period from 23-Dec-2023 to 30-Dec-2023. It was made abundantly clear that this booking had to be over Christmas as I had asked for a Christmas tree to be provided! The booking was accepted by Sarah Freer at Norfolk cottages and a ‘Deposit Paid Confirmation’ received on 7-May-2022.

Emily Gosling at Norfolk Cottages informed me on 6-Jan-2023 by e-mail that the owners were unfortunately ‘no longer able to take your booking’ and offered us the property instead ‘for New Year starting from 29th December’. A subsequent telephone call with Heidi at Norfolk cottages made clear that the owners had changed their mind and wanted the property over Christmas themselves.

We had no choice but to accept the return of our Booking Deposit but the fact that the Booking Conditions would appear to infringe our rights as a consumer by allowing an owner to change their mind as has happened in this case means that I will never ever again book a holiday letting from Norfolk Cottages or Travel Chapter Group providers. I suggest you heed this warning as booking a cottage on a set date does not mean that the period will be honoured.

Norfolk Cottages did tell us that it was rare for the property owner to change their mind but once is enough albeit I have experienced this now on two occasions on ‘high end’ houses owned by rich owners who can easily accept a rent loss.

Hill View was a beautiful little cottage with a log burner which made our stay over Christmas really cosy and festive. The cleaners had put up the Christmas tree for us so when we arrived the day before Christmas Eve, we just needed to settle in and enjoy the festivities with our family and very excited dog. We loved it and will definitely stay again. If you stay between November and February you will see thousands of flocks of pink footed geese who fly past at sunrise, it is a sight to behold and worth getting up to watch.

We’ve booked through these people for many years and so this is a considered review amalgamating our most recent booking experience in November and December (didn’t supply any logs despite our requesting / clarifying in advance (it’s also an accepted given that houses with log burners etc. provide a few logs, as a starter pack)) and most recently, they stridently and arrogantly kept a deposit on a Christmas booking, despite a genuine misunderstanding, claims that they sent a notification which we most certainly did not receive and in addition, they had absolutely notecard for an extenuating circumstance (a death) on our side. All in all - they have left us with a very sour taste despite our being such a regular customer, over so many years. Overall, this company is often very unhelpful and unresponsive. They are quick to take the money but they don’t do anything constructive to resolve issues. They often just ignore emails and what is very poor behaviour is that they only make use (and publish) of favourable feedback rather than all feedback which would give clients the fuller and better picture regarding any given property; or indeed a view of this letting agent themselves.

Unfortunately, they are the sole letting agent for a few properties which means you’ll have to use them but where there is a choice of booking agents, we would recommend giving those other agents the booking. You might then receive some ‘customer care’.

Added on 2/1/23 is response - patently, we would hardly write such a review had we not exhaustively emailed you, on multiple occasions, beforehand. On every occasion that we emailed you, your response was high handed, indifferent and bordering on arrogant. You were not the slightest bit helpful to us, on any occasion. Our review here, was very much left as the last resort. Your apparent concern here on Trust Pilot is regarded as lacking sincerity. You had plenty of opportunity to have provided meaningful customer support; you didn’t do it.

Booked Just over a week at Plane Tree Barn in Edgefield at the end of October Paid just over £1600 looked a high end property. However it had vermin running around between the floorboards.This was reported to Norfolk Cottages early on in our stay.
I had to keep chasing them to find out what was going to happen!! Eventually they sent out a pest control company who said nothing could be done!! (I am a Farmers son I know that is wrong) So my Mrs and 1 of the children stayed in our campervan that we had taken on holiday because they didnt want to sleep with vermin. Norfolk Cottages gave me £250 back as a good will gesture(peanuts for a ruined holiday) Norfolk Cottages Never again!!!!

Very poor first impressions. Access into designated parking area almost impossible.Had to park in club car park opposite for £5 a day.
Uncomfortable bed. Uncomfortable eating area.
Repair that has been reported several times not completed.
Refrigerator has no freezer section.
Generally scruffy - except for bathroom.

Great location and we enjoyed the walks nearby especially Felbrigg and swimming in the Pool!
