Amazing experience at the North gate barking branch
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the team at the Northgate Barking Branch for their exceptional service and support during a recent breakdown I experienced late at night. As a woman who can feel particularly vulnerable at those hours, I was truly impressed by how understanding and supportive the staff were. I felt safe, reassured, and genuinely cared for.
Upon arriving at the Barking branch escorted by a recovering vehicle , I was greeted by a staff member named Idris, who immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable. He invited me to take a seat, offered me a hot drink, and assured me that he would handle the matter. Even though a vehicle was not immediately available, Idris went above and beyond to ensure that one was provided for me. He even took the time to hose it down and wash the vehicle for me before handing it over—an act that truly demonstrated his commitment to customer care.
Idris also reassured me that the vehicle, which was electric, was simply to get me home safely that night, and encouraged me to return in the morning if I felt uncomfortable driving it. It was my first experience driving an electric vehicle and Idris took me through all the important points in the vehicle.
The next day, when I returned, Idris once again assisted me with patience, professionalism, and kindness, helping me find a suitable replacement vehicle.
I also want to compliment the reception staff, who assured me they would assist as soon as possible and were equally polite and helpful, especially discovering that I work for NHS and needed to attend a meeting at a certain time. The service I received from the whole team was excellent, but Idris truly stood out. His welcoming attitude, positive and professional approach, and reassuring manner are a credit to the company.

I had a damaged van and took it in to…
I had a damaged van and took it in to the barking branch. They were very helpful. Tee sorted me out with a replacement. Even though it’s not their policy to provide a like for like I got the same size vehicle. The branch kept me updated and everyone was friendly. I recommend setting up an account for van rentals with NorthGate

Mike Gladden - Barking Depot
Mike and his team got our van in for body repairs with little notice and made sure the repairs were carried in the time my driver was on holiday, meaning no time on the road was missed.

Northgate Barking provide vehicles with…
Northgate Barking provide vehicles with known ad blue faults that they reset without fixing they then send the vehicles back out without rectifying the ad blue fault, I have had to take back 3 separate different vehicles now all with the same problem, they then say you have to wait for the fault to be fixed and that they dont have any other vehicles to swap for the one which they sent out knowing it was faulty this has caused me to lose a whole day of work and wages on 2 occasions already and now for a 3rd time, don’t use this company unless you want to waste your time sitting in their reception for hours on end
