Awful experience thus far. Partner and I purchased a BYD Seal U last May. We had a positive experience buying the vehicle initially but it wasnt until the paperwork was to be signed that everything started to unravel a bit. Firstly our initial quote we received for the vehicle was great. It wasnt until a few days later we received the call that the price then changed. It wasnt far out of the realms of what we we're originally quoted so we we're willing to let this slide. Our vehicle came in and my partner spent the best part of the day waiting to collect it. We we're then told that they we're having an issue updating the vehicle so we could take away a courtesy car until the vehicle was ready. We ended up having this courtesy car for a few months before being able to have our vehicle we purchased. All the while whilst paying for our vehicle as well.
We we're also of the mind that we had purchased tyre cover with the vehicle, it wasnt until we needed a replacement that we found out this wasnt added and when we came to enquire our emails we're ignored!
Now not even a year later we are having to have the condenser in our vehicle replaced. I have tried to call the service department multiple times and cannot get through to anyone. Our service video says that we should not drive our vehicle until the condenser has been replaced but was not told this until we had seen the service video.
Overall poor communication and response times and nowhere to raise issues.
Very polite and helpful answered any questions that I had

Purchase a car Astra just want to say couldn’t have had better service vick was absolutely brilliant from start to finish also Bradley was a star sorting out finance for me couldn’t have had 2 better people looking after me always go petagon derby wouldn’t go anywhere else

Since changing my service plan to pentagon st helens its been abysmal!
Last year they tried to charge us for new locking wheel nuts but they lost the key and the code! I was having none of it, this year said I needed a leak patching so I waited until the 1st April when they could fit me in, took my car in and got a phone call in the afternoon saying they were wrong and there is no leak... pick it up and it's sat on the drive as I use my little car for day to day driving..... comes to use it today and low and behold no locking wheel nut key in the glove box where i always keep it!! Absolutely fuming, I will be calling in the morning and demanding they rectify it or be taken to small claims court! I definitely will be taking my business elsewhere as this is twice now!

All I can say really is avoid this place (pentagon ford St Helens) for any type of work/servicing, the customer service & servicing side is beyond poor, my car has been in and out since may 2025 & it’s only just been resolved after going in for recall software updates & each time I was assured it would be in for 2-3 days which turned into weeks each time, this last time on the fourth visit of being booked in for 3 days which turned into 12 weeks of the usual fob off excuses ie, the mechanic who deals with ev side of it is away on holiday or off sick, no time to get to it, technical issues, back order on parts, no parts in the country. With service staff being unprofessional and rude & not interested in anyway at all as he showed on many occasions.by the end of it I got my car back 2nd April 2026 & told it had been valeted which turned out not the case, it was filthy with oil covering the steering wheel and floor mats & all inside the door cill, with scratches on the arm rest & down the side of the bodywork on drivers side,. I practically had to force someone from the dealership to actually take some interest and have a look, they assured me they will repair and call me by the end of the day but as always never follow up on their promises & lame excuses after excuse I was told previously to avoid this place but never actually believed it until my own experience. For your own sanity don’t use this dealership in St Helens use another location

My Kia EV6 GT has had nothing but problems since this branch applied a software update. The 12v battery drains when the car is not driven for 1 or 2 days. I took the car in and they said that a courtesy car would not be available for 10 days, how is this sustainable?
The servicing team then said that they would contact the Mansfield and Rotherham branches to see if they had any availability...four hours later this conversation had still not taken place. I was reassured that they would give me a call back before the end of the working day to confirm the availability and where to collect from, this did not happen. So now I have no car, no support and no means of getting to work in Castleford. Absolutely diabolical customer service! Add to this the rude response of "we can't give you something we don't have" from the services customer services front desk.

I think the general consensus is in, this is a terrible company. It is a real shame because Ryan, the Dacia sales person who I bought the car from, was really great, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The issues are with the ongoing service and support (or lack of). They are unhelpful, ignore emails and generally quite rude. I won't be using Pentagon again. And Pentagon marketing team need not bother responding to this post with the usual "we’d appreciate the opportunity to look into this further and put things right for you" Pentagon have had plenty of chances.

We recently visited a car dealership in Burton to look for a new family car, and we had a fantastic experience. Charlie, who is new to the role, was absolutely brilliant with us. He was patient, helpful, and took the time to show us around without any pressure.
Thanks to his support, we found a car that we truly love and that’s perfect for our family. His colleagues were also very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to assist throughout the process.
We were especially impressed with how quickly everything was completed, we were able to collect the car the very next day!
I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a smooth and enjoyable car buying experience.

I am sharing my experience with Pentagon Barnsley and Pentagon Motor Group to help other customers make informed decisions.
I purchased a vehicle from Pentagon and have been dealing with ongoing issues for over a year. Throughout this entire period, I have repeatedly tried to resolve the problems, but the process has been marked by administrative errors, inconsistent information, and a lack of clear communication. This has caused significant disruption to both my work and personal life.
Despite raising concerns multiple times over the past year, the service I received consistently fell below what I would reasonably expect. Key issues included:
Contradictory information from different staff members
Missed or unclear timelines
Inconsistent documentation relating to my vehicle
Pentagon Barnsley refusing to accept further bookings, leaving me without a practical route to resolve ongoing faults
Withdrawal of previously offered goodwill gestures without any prior caveat
Internal reviews that did not address the impact of these service failures on me as the customer
Although Pentagon states that no staff misconduct was identified, this does not change the fact that the handling of my case over the past year has caused considerable inconvenience, financial strain, and a loss of trust.
I have now had to escalate the matter to my finance provider and submit a formal Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) to understand how my case has been managed internally.
My experience may not reflect every customer’s, but it is important to highlight how prolonged and unresolved issues over a full year have affected my ability to rely on both the vehicle and the service provided. I hope Pentagon will use this feedback to improve transparency, communication, and customer care going forward.

Could not have asked for nicer people to have dealt with our new car. Chris Mcdonnell was very helpful and professional when dealing with us. He was supported by John and Manager Richard. Together they made the whole experience enjoyable. Customer service within this department is a credit to the Kia brand and deserves every creditation.

We are extremely disappointed with the service we have received from Volkswagen commercial vehicles Derby and the position this has left our business in.
Our commercial vehicle, which is still under warranty, first developed an engine warning light and airbag fault around 20th January 2026. We contacted the dealership immediately and the vehicle was booked in for 5th February 2026.
After a significant wait, the issues were not resolved. We were then asked to return the vehicle again, which we did on 23rd March 2026. Despite a second visit, the faults still remain unresolved.
As a result, the vehicle now cannot pass its MOT, which expires on 28th March 2026, due to the ongoing airbag fault. This means the van is effectively unusable and cannot be legally driven, leaving us without a critical vehicle for our business.
We were initially offered a further booking in June, which is completely unreasonable given the circumstances. It was only through our own persistence that this was brought forward to 26th April 2026 — still nearly a month away for a vehicle that is already off the road due to unresolved warranty issues.
We have made multiple attempts to escalate this matter. The Dealer Principal/Manager Daniel Hough was confirmed to be on site yesterday, yet chose not to return calls or respond to emails. This lack of accountability and communication is extremely frustrating.
As a small business, this situation is having a serious operational and financial impact. We rely on this vehicle daily, and being left without it through no fault of our own is significantly affecting our ability to work and serve our customers.
At no point have we been offered a suitable solution, such as vehicle collection, a courtesy van, or any meaningful support to reduce the impact on our business.
We chose Volkswagen expecting reliability, support, and a professional standard of service — particularly with a vehicle under warranty. Instead, we have experienced repeated inconvenience, unresolved faults, and a complete lack of urgency or accountability.
We would strongly advise other business users to carefully consider this experience before relying on this dealership.
