Proplates Avis 

Confused by the reviews on here as my experience was quite the opposite. The website doesn't give you any indication of dispatch or delivery times, and when emailing to query the responses were effortless.

Still waiting for my plates which they dropped off at a 'parcel shop' using a budget parcel service online 'parcel2go'.

Would avoid this company and seek professionals.

Plates came very quickly and were high quality. I queried where were the Makers mark postcode and BSAU numbers because I couldn't see them. Customer service responded very quickly to point out that they were very small and in the border. Perfect!

Used pro plates multiple times. Quality is excellent every time, far superior to dealership plates which always have imperfections. Will continue to use for every vehicle. Multiple designs possible with great website to show you what your design will look like. If your looking for new plates, don’t bother going elsewhere!!!

Excellent customer service and very quality plates!

Customer service absolutely terrible the plates themselves are good quality but the spacing in between the letters was not what i ordered but after numerous emails and messages sent on the website no reply and just avoiding the issue.

So impressed! I ordered a stick-on plate for my electric three-wheeled car (motorcycle numberplate). It is perfect: On two lines and the green badge is next to the second line - looks very neat!

I used ProPlates to reproduce an exact match of an original 1980’s Ford dealer rear plate that is on my car.
I emailed a few photos of my existing original plate and was emailed drafts of the new plates the next day. I emailed back as a small revision was needed. I was sent the amended draft again the next day and confirmed all was good to go ahead. New plates arrived the next day and are exactly what I wanted and expected. Perfect match to my existing dealer plate. Highly recommend using ProPlates if you want period correct plates on your classic car.

I wanted some custom plates with all the legal markings, without massive branding. Lee from ProPlates was super helpful on email and talked me through the options and made sure the plates were made as required.

The first set had a small imperfection and replacement plates were sent out hassle free with really quick delivery (even the free option). Will definitely use them again, and a big thanks to Lee for his help!

Delivery was quick and the plate (a stick-on type for the front of the car) looked good.
But.... getting it satisfactorily stuck on the car (the nose cone of a Caterham 7) was impossible. The plate's vinyl-type material is very thin and very sticky, so when air bubbles get trapped, as they almost certainly will, or if it needs slightly repositioning, it is all but impossible to gently lift it. It can be lifted, but this takes more than a bit of gentle persuasion - one has to pull it quite hard and this distorts the shape. I did use a heat gun on a low heat setting to try and make it more pliable and easier to lift, but to little effect. I also used a squeegee to smooth the plate onto the nosecone surface and get rid of air bubbles, but again to little effect. I have successfully put decals on motorbike fairings - these have been far easier to lift and tweak, using said heat gun and squeegee, so I have had some good practise!
Maybe there's a certain knack to getting the Proplate perfectly in place, but if there is, I haven't got it! If there is a knack, it would be useful to have instructions/fitting tips with the plate, or even a video on-line!
Maybe a thicker vinyl material and a less aggressive adhesive is required to make the fitting process more user-friendly.
So for me it's been an unfortunate waste of money and I have retained the standard (rigid) plate, which looks not as nice but is a doddle to fit!
In summary, I'd say think hard before ordering this make of sticky plate - if you've successfully fitted one before, that's fine; but if you haven't, there's a good chance it will not give a perfect, first-time result no matter how careful you are.
