This company started a policy on the basis of a mortgage company's erroneous belief that the property was uninsured. Once the mortgage company realized their error, they canceled the policy. However, according to SageSure they never received that cancellation nor the one from Allstate which the homeowner's insurance actually was. SageSure continued to take premiums for the next two years. The homeowner never signed an application nor believed that any SageSure policy was in effect. They refuse to acknowledge that they received cancellations, although both Mr. Cooper and Allstate have provided proof of cancellation from over two years ago. They claim they would have had to pay if there had been an issue. Doubtful as the homeowner had no idea the policy existed. Nor did Mr. Cooper or Allstate.

Filing a simple hail damage claim has been an absolute nightmare with SageSure. Here's why:
In January of this year, I switched from SageSure to Farmers. In May of this year ('26), I listed my home for sale and, during the listing process, learned that my roof had hail damage.
Having never filed an insurance claim before, I mistakenly filed the claim with my current insurer, Farmers. Within two days, they inspected my roof and found clear signs of hail damage to both the roof and gutter downspouts. The inspector told me to expect payment within a few hours. Later that day, however, he called back to explain that there had not been a hailstorm in my area since May 2025, which meant the damage occurred while SageSure insured my home. He advised me to file the claim with SageSure instead.
That's when the nightmare began.
After filing my claim with SageSure, I noticed their online claim tracker never updated, so I had no idea where my claim stood. My adjuster, Ashley T., called several days later, and I missed her call by only a few seconds. I returned her call within 30 seconds, but it went straight to voicemail. I called several more times that day and continued calling almost daily for nearly a week. Every call went directly to voicemail.
I eventually contacted SageSure's main customer service line to explain that I couldn't reach my adjuster because her calls appeared to be forwarded directly to voicemail. Within minutes, Ashley called me back and said she would send an inspector. It took more than two additional weeks before an inspector finally came to my home. During that time, I made several more attempts to contact Ashley. Her phone eventually stopped going directly to voicemail, but she still never answered or returned my calls.
After the SageSure inspection, I waited nearly two more weeks for underwriting to review the report. My claim was ultimately denied. SageSure stated there were "no signs of hail damage" to my roof or gutters and concluded that the condition of the roof was simply normal wear and tear.
That made no sense.
By that point, I had already received documented evidence of hail damage from an independent roofing company and from Farmers. To be certain, I contacted a second roofing company. They came out within two hours, performed a thorough inspection, photographed the damage, and provided an estimate. They believed the damage appeared newer and suggested I file another claim with Farmers in case additional hail had occurred after their first inspection.
The second Farmers inspector also found significant hail damage. He told me there was absolutely no question the damage was caused by hail and warned that if the roof wasn't replaced, it would continue to deteriorate and could eventually cause water damage inside my home. However, after researching weather records, he reached the same conclusion as the first inspector: there had been no hail in my area since May 2025. Because of that, Farmers correctly denied the claim since they weren't my insurer when the damage occurred.
So now I have:
* Two independent roofing companies documenting hail damage.
* Two separate Farmers inspections confirming significant hail damage.
* Weather records confirming the last hail event occurred while my home was insured by SageSure.
And now I'm forced to start over by appealing SageSure's denial.
This is a simple hail damage claim, not a total-loss house fire. Farmers handled two claims from filing to inspection and complete reports in a combined four days. SageSure took a month to communicate, delayed the inspection, and ultimately denied a claim now confirmed by four separate, reputable evaluations.
It's difficult to understand how four independent inspections all found clear hail damage while SageSure found none.
At this point, all four sources agree the damage occurred during the period my home was insured by SageSure. The SageSure inspector was either inexperienced or incompetent.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend SageSure. My new home builder is recommending them, but I will be using Farmers.

I am submitting this review regarding SageSure's repeated failure to deliver my homeowner's insurance cancellation refund despite multiple assurances that payment was issued.
I cancelled my homeowner's insurance policy with SageSure in March 2026 and was informed that I was entitled to a refund of the unused premium. According to SageSure, the initial refund check was mailed in either March or April. However, I never received that check.
After reporting the missing payment, I was advised that a stop payment would be placed on the original check and that a replacement check would be issued. Despite this, I never received the original check, and there is no explanation as to why it failed to arrive.
I later contacted SageSure again and was informed that a new refund check had been disbursed on May 5, 2026. I was instructed to allow 7–10 business days for delivery. As of May 29, 2026, more than three weeks have passed, and I still have not received the replacement check.
This situation is unacceptable. I have made multiple efforts to resolve this matter directly with SageSure, yet I remain without my refund months after cancelling my policy. The repeated delays, lack of accountability, and failure to ensure delivery of my funds have caused significant frustration and inconvenience.
I am also concerned that this issue may reflect a broader pattern of conduct. In researching this matter, I found numerous public complaints from other consumers reporting delays, missing refund checks, repeated reissuances, and difficulties obtaining funds owed to them after policy cancellations. The similarities between those complaints and my own experience are troubling. Given the number of consumers reporting comparable issues, I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed not only as an individual complaint but also to determine whether there are systemic deficiencies in SageSure's refund processing and payment delivery practices.
To further resolve this matter, I requested that SageSure reissue the refund through an alternative payment method, such as ACH/direct deposit, or send the replacement check through a secure and traceable delivery service such as UPS or FedEx. These requests were denied. I was informed that SageSure would not issue the refund via ACH and would not use UPS, FedEx, or any other trackable delivery method. As a result, SageSure insists on continuing to send refund checks through regular mail despite the fact that two separate checks have allegedly been mailed and neither has been received. This refusal to utilize reasonable and secure alternatives has unnecessarily prolonged the issue and raises serious concerns about SageSure's commitment to ensuring that policyholders receive funds that are rightfully owed to them.
Our claim was handled promptly and very professionally. Our adjuster was very nice to deal with and made it very clear in what we had to do in order to process the items that were needed to repair our home.

I have had SageSure Insurance for almost 6 years now, and have never made a claim. We had several bad storm come through and my roof is leaking and leaving brown spots on the ceiling. My claim got denied, they said my deductible is higher than the payout, so denied. We keep getting rain storms, and not only is the water still coming in and making things worse, the agent advised me to put a tarp on the roof to avoid further damage. Are you kidding me???? My husband and son had to get on the roof to tarp it. Not only is my husband a disabled veteran, he recently had back surgery, and he had to get on the roof to tarp it! He said the roof feels like it's soft in some areas and he is scared he will fall thru! I am absolutely disgusted with this! Not only am I a loyal customer, but I am also a Mortgage Broker who has binded insurance policies for almost all my clients with SageSure. That will no longer be the case! My other property is covered with Allstate, and I didn't have these kind of issues with them! You are better off with Allstate!
