When I tried to create an online account, it would not work & I was immediately locked out. So, I tried to call customer service, waited for 45 minutes for someone to answer, only for the line to disconnect. Tried again and the line seemed down. Their website chat was useless, too. So, I sent a check to pay my loan off and received an email saying I need to log into my inaccessible account to confirm my mailing address for final reconciliation and so I can get my title. Not sure why they need my address again since they sure knew where to mail the bill. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that they mail me my title since it's impossible to reach a human. The absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Absolutely incompetent company & I'm genuinely shocked they're still in business. I will never in a million years ever do business with them or a dealership that does again.

this companies and there affiliates chrysler capitals lack of consumer well anything is appauling to say the least. have an issue with the vehicle and dealership and kept them in the loop and informed them of the deceptive and fraudulent practices and defective vehicle and they do nothing. since august ive informed them i never signed the contract whats there response they sent me an identity theft pamphlet and this didnt come from the customer service group IT CAME FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE GROUP. after i do everything that the customer service group manager said i needed to do tells me "im sorry you were misinformed". so i send them proof and the ceo as well proof of the fraud committed by the dealership it went unnoticed and THE EXECUTIVE OFFICE wouldnt even open the said email refusing to acknowledge the fraud committed which violates not only moral but federal guidelines as it pertains to consumer protection. but they dont care that was apparent by the reply that was made to the cfpb complaint i filed where they posted my contract unredacted with sensitive information showing to the public complaint disclosing my personal information for all to see. STAY AWAY FROM ANY DEALERSHIP THAT ENCOURAGES THE USE OF THIS LENDER OR AFFILIATES. they prefer monetization from you and your data then you as a consumer and the protection of your data

Santander Consumer USA has withheld my $933.44 overpayment for 503 days despite acknowledging it in writing on June 24, 2025. This is unconscionable.
I paid off my loan in full on July 3, 2024. I overpaid by $933.44. Santander acknowledged this overpayment in their own letter but has refused to refund my money for over 16 months.
When I call, they give excuses: "it's processing," "check tracking shows delivery" (false - no check was ever sent), or they simply disconnect. I filed CFPB complaint #250611-21472259. Still no refund.
This is not an accident - this is a pattern of withholding consumer funds. They're earning interest on MY money while I struggle. I've sent demand letters. Nothing.
If you're considering Santander, RUN. They will take your money and make it nearly impossible to get back. Absolutely unacceptable business practices.
I'm now pursuing legal action and have filed complaints with BBB and NJ Department of Banking (complaint #53394).

I have called 3 times and ask to correct a payment that I have made ahead for the next month, today is day5 and the problem still exists. Everytime I call they my information and telling me it will reflect on your account by tomorrow and nothing happens. Word of advice if you have a choice do not go with Santander their costumer service is horrible, I don't recommend this to anyone

THIS IS THE SHADIEST DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY EVER. MY FIRST PAYMENT IS NOT DUE UNTIL 12/12. I MADE A PAYMENT TO GO TO PRINCIPLE ONLY AND THEY STILL TOOK OUT INTEREST WHEN THE CONTRACT DOES NOT START UNTIL 12/12 WHEN THE FIRST PAYMENT IS DUE. I HAVE ALREADY REFINANCED AND SANTANDER IS STILL TRYING TO GET INTEREST FOR A LOAN THAT DOES NOT START UNTIL 12/12/2025. THE PAYOFF WILL OCCUR BEFORE THAT DATE BECAUSE I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS SHADY CORPORATION A DIME. THEY ARE GOING TO STEAL MORE THAN THAT FROM ME, ANYWAY.

It takes them a very long time to release a vehicle title. When you call they say it's a process and it can't be expedited. It took them 3 weeks just to notify the DMV that the title had been released, then they quoted me another 3 weeks to actually receive the title.
Indian based call center, difficult to understand and communicate with.

Do NOT be so desperate that you use this company. The interest rates will eat you alive. You better hope the car outlives the payments. 3 years in and I have only knocked 4 thousand off the sticker price.

DO NOT FINANCE WITH THIS COMPANY!
Financed my truck with them 2.5 years ago. They were okay at first, but then they became lazy and payments I was making from my debit card weren’t updating for days. Fast forward to now. That isn’t even my main complaint. Fast forward to now, I traded in the truck for a different vehicle almost a month ago. The dealership agreed to pay off my loan and sent the check out 3 weeks ago to Santander. It was confirmed as received and signed for 2 weeks ago, yet Santander are refusing to update the balance on the loan! They keep telling me payment has not been received, when in reality I have proof that it has been. The customer service is useless, they just keep telling me payment hasn’t been received and to call back in a few days. Absolute fraudsters, please finance elsewhere if possible.

Representative sounded like she was drunk or high on drugs. Kept repeating herself. I finally asked if there was anything else she needed since I already had my answer. Finally said goodbye to her and hung up

I was working on setting up my account. I tried to verify my account. Your system claimed I input the wrong verification code even though I had it resent multiple times. After the third time of entering the code exactly as it was sent to me, I was locked out then had to remain on hold for over 15 minutes. What a stupid mistake by a negligent company. Why would they make it so difficult to collect the money I am trying to give them?
