Filter tap

I think this is at least the second review I've been asked to complete. My experience with sinks-taps is excellent. Delivery as planned, the taps look and work great. The tap is a filter tap and the taps are below the swan neck. This seems to work better than those taps that are above the swan neck. These just seize up in our hard water area. Trustpilot reviews take longer than I would like.

Always fully take out of box to check on arrival !!!

Looked over sink and tap when arrived, stored safely,had no kitchen for nearly 2 months the job was just started whilst Covid was just kicking off !! Fitter was doing the job and his men when he could and when work men were allowed and available. When sink and tap were finally fully opened again tap was ok but the sink had a slight bend on one corner and after fully taking out of the box the inner cardboard was also damaged , looked like it could have been damaged in transit,was my fault because I should have fully taken out of the box but didnt , sink and taps were no way going to do anything to resolve the issue , will always now take everything out of a box fully and not just open to look !!

HI Carol. We are really sorry that we couldn't do anything about this. We do highlight that all products should be checked carefully within 48hrs of delivery. All products are checked here before being dispatched. In the rare case they get damaged in transit, we have to make a claim within 48hrs. This is simply due to the fact that if the product has been on site for weeks before a damage claim is made, the couriers will say the product could have easily been damaged whilst there and not damaged in transit. We did attempt to make a claim but were refused due to the timescale. It is very common, particularly on low profile stainless steel sinks to get damaged whilst being moved around a building site. As a gesture of goodwill, we would offer to provide some additional discount on any other products you may need in the future.

On-line purchase experience dealing with Paul at Sinks-Taps.com was absolutely of the highest rating. He ensured we selected the correct tap, finish and importantly, checked that price was "lowest market available". You cannot really ask for more than that....perfect customer service.

From this experience, we will 100% definitely be dealing with them again on our bathroom project in a Grade II listed building.

Very Rude and unprofessional man

Not willing to accept that the courier they have used has not looked after the item and arrived broken!

Without doubt the worst customer…

Without doubt the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Ordered a sink on 10th December for delivery on 16th. It arrived at my parents' address and after transferring it 200 metres around the corner, we opened it to discover it was in 2 pieces. I rang the company immediately but was greeted immediately with blame for breaking it. My Dad signed for receipt of the sink but I was told that he had signed to say it was in perfect condition. Due to the positioning of the sink in the hallway, you could not see the sign saying it needed checking. An email had also gone to my spam folder. I believe the driver knew it needed checking but did not state this. The pallet company have informed me that the sink travelled from York to Preston, Preston to Middlesbrough and was then loaded onto another truck for delivery. They also told me that they were not given any instructions about the item being fragile, despite a member of management telling me repeatedly that the sink was extremely fragile and would break easily.
I spoke to the man on the phone twice and he was not at all apologetic or sympathetic. He just issued blame and said they would not replace it. He stated they would go back to the courier but has never been back in touch.
After no response I emailed a formal complaint on 8th January which has just been ignored.
I would not advise anyone to buy from this company. Their phone line states that they pride themselves on the quality of their products and service but from my experience both are appalling.
I am £244 out of pocket and spent Christmas as a family of 6 with no sink.
PLEASE AVOID!

Doesn't acknowlege issues with parts and fails to provide refunds

Sent me a tap with blemishes and also which did not operate properly (it was a single lever, the marks on the tap itself suggested turning to the right for cold but it would not move that way. Other taps, including the replacement I had to order, do go to the right (3 o'clock) for cold and to the left (9 o'clock) for hot.
This company claimed the blemishes are perfectly acceptable on chrome and that all taps like this only turn a quarter turn to the left going first through cold and then through hot.
As they refused to acknowledge either problems as an issue I had to pay to return the item for a refund, however it's been well over the 'maximum 30 days' to process the refund and I still haven't received it.
On the same order I ordered a sink which was fine so your experience with this company is likely to be hugely different depending on whether you encounter any product problems or not as that seems to be when they don't want to know.
I highly recommend you avoid this company.

Efficient

Efficient, pleasant. Especially helpful to me as I needed delivery to a vacant rental property on the day before I was leaving the UK for my home in another country. Also I asked for a not-too-early time and was allocated a slot in the middle of the day - perfect. Needed help with sizing and it worked out fine. Competitively priced. Would definitely go back to this company, particularly as, working from a distance, I need someone reliable. Thank you Richard!

In my 15 years of being a customer…

In my 15 years of being a customer service manager I can truthfully say that if one of my team members spoke to me the way Richard from sink-tap.co.uk spoke to me today then they would be sacked on the spot. They are a Terrible company to deal with. We tried to contact this company regarding a faulty tap. The company basically fobbed us off and the customer service representative obviously didn’t like being informed of a faulty product and was highly unhelpful and unprofessional. He ended up shouting at me and also my husband down the phone. He told us he had 40 years experience in the industry and that the way we installed taps was apparently Inefficient. My husband has been a qualified gas engineer and plumber for 15 years, he installs taps on a daily basis so I think he knows what he’s doing. Richard the customer service representative was not having any of this and ended up shouting at my husband down the phone as a result.
My husband also advised that he would like to return the item under the Consumer Acts right regardless of where it was faulty or not at that point... but was advised that we would have to return the item then pay for it to be tested by Abode and I can’t imagine how long at that point we’d be waiting for our refund! We never refused to send any pictures of videos, in fact I have since forwarded the video onto Richard just to prove the fault!
It’s important to also note that Richard refused to have the conversation recorded, my husband advised him that due to his unprofessional and rude manner he wanted to record the conversation, but Richard told him he had no right... to me this just proves he’s obviously aware of his poor customer service manner!

Jenny. You reported a tap from Abode that was installed wasnt delivering any water at all! I asked if you could confirm the exact pressure that was been provided to the tap as the manufacturers specified that it is a high pressure tap and needs a MINIMUM of 1.25bar. You said you had a video but refused to email this to me as it was too much hassle. Your husband also rang me to inform me that you were sending the tap back for a full refund. I tried to explain the tap could be returned but it would be tested by the manufacturers to confirm if the tap was faulty or if it was an installation problem. He didnt agree or like this and simply demanded we accept the tap back for a full refund without testing it! I dont understand why you had a video but wouldnt send it and had a qualified plumber who refused to tell us exactly what pressure you had???

Poor service

Poor service, wanted to return a tap that was too small, emailed in and they never got back to me. When I called in they said I was out of the 14 day policy so they could not take back the items even thought i had emailed in. Worst of all the telephone advisor namely Richard accused me of fraud when I said I was going to call my credit card company to pursue them. Very unproffessinal and would not recommend them at all.
