Appalling customer service. I rented a Rent-to-Buy vehicle for Uber, and the air conditioning stopped working during summer. They ignored 10 emails from me and forced me to wait a month for a Volkswagen dealer appointment on 7th July.The car has now been locked inside the Volkswagen dealership for days, and VW just informed me they cannot even start the diagnostic. I am stuck with zero income. Splend flatly refused to provide a TfL-licensed courtesy car, completely leaving me stranded without a replacement vehicle during this extreme heat. This completely violates their own company policy.To make it worse, they told me to just go and refill the AC gas myself. The car only has 18,000 miles, so it is almost brand new. An AC system does not empty itself at 18,000 miles unless there is a major mechanical leak or component failure covered under warranty. Splend is just trying to avoid their maintenance responsibilities.They are demanding my full weekly rental payment of 309 pounds tonight while the car is unusable in a workshop, and they previously charged me a 19-pound late fee caused by the loss of income they created. They also owe me a referral bonus which they are delaying.Drivers are treated like numbers, not businesses. Total breach of contract and zero support. Avoid Splend UK.

I’m sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our service.
I attempted to call you today to discuss your concerns, but unfortunately I was unable to reach you.
To clarify our process regarding air conditioning issues, we would always ask customers to visit their local Kwik Fit so that they can assess the system. If the air conditioning simply requires a re-gas, this is considered a consumable item and can be carried out at the customer's expense.
However, if Kwik Fit identifies a fault with the air conditioning system, and you have confirmed with the dealership that the required repairs are covered under the vehicle's warranty, Splend will be happy to provide you with a replacement vehicle while the warranty repairs are being completed.
I hope this clarifies our process. We look forward to hearing from you, and please feel free to return my call at your earliest convenience so we can discuss this further.

Poor customer service - they don't respond to emails or calls
I was looking to buy a used car from this company, the car was described as in good condition with tidy bodywork, having paid a deposit, I called to collect the car, it had numerous dents and scuffs and the company has not refunded my deposit, responded to my emails / calls. I would not recommend them prospective buyers of vehicles, many appeared to be high mileage former Uber vehicles that were being sold at a premium because of the PCO licence they came with. In the end I bought a car else where that offered better value. I would not risk buying from them, their customer service is poor and they are not to be trusted to give an acurate description of the vehicle being sold.

I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our service. I would like to clarify the following points.
When you returned your vehicle on 11/05/2026, it was inspected and several areas of damage were identified, including:
Offside rear (OSR) door damage
Nearside rear (QSR) quarter panel damage
Rear bumper damage
Damage to both rear fog lamps
In addition, a PCN (Penalty Charge Notice) has since been received relating to the period the vehicle was in your possession. This had not yet been received at the time you off-boarded the vehicle.
We have already provided you with a copy of the damage invoice, along with a copy of the PCN for your records.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss any of these points, please let us know and we will be happy to assist.
