Very Disappointing Experience
As a new Uber driver, I chose Splend because of its reputation, but my first experience was extremely disappointing.
The website advertised a Volkswagen ID.3 for £199 per week (all-inclusive) in the New Drivers section. After creating my account, I was suddenly quoted £249 per week, and later received yet another pricing list by email with different prices. The pricing is confusing and inconsistent.
I reserved a black Volkswagen ID.3, but when I arrived for my appointment, I was offered a blue one instead. More importantly, the vehicle was in a shocking condition. The interior, especially the seats, was heavily worn and damaged. I honestly cannot understand how a company specialising in Uber rentals considers this acceptable for professional drivers.
After rejecting the vehicle, I was told there was no suitable replacement available, despite having a confirmed booking. As a result, I wasted my time travelling to the branch, missed the opportunity to start working, and lost potential income.
I have raised a formal complaint with supporting photos and screenshots. I hope Splend improves its pricing transparency, vehicle standards and customer service, because this was not the experience I expected from Uber's recommended rental partner.

Whilst we appreciate that you were not happy with the initial vehicle offered to you, and you are absolutely entitled to decline a vehicle that you don't feel is suitable, the alternative vehicles we have sourced have also been declined.
I would just like to kindly remind you that these vehicles are used, not brand new. As such, they should not be expected to be in showroom condition. However, they are prepared to a standard that is acceptable for use, including meeting the relevant Transport for London (TfL) requirements.
