Tetley UK Avis 

I’ve been a loyal fan of Tetley since I switched from PG in the early eighties.
I’m a big tea drinker and thought the fairly recent change in flavour of Tetley and weakness of the brew was down to maybe a one-off ‘rogue’ batch. But no, our new purchase is equally as poor. My family say the same.
Never thought I’d change or have to switch.
Just calculated we’ve purchased/used at home between 100,000 - 120,000 Tetley tea bags over the years!
Sadly it’s goodbye Tetley and we now start the search for a new decent cuppa.

I have used Tesco teabags for years. The recent changes to packaging (resulting in lots of messy dust leaking from the box and residue at the bottom of the cup), made me try an alternative. I assumed Tetley would be a good choice, but have been very disappointed with the taste.

Don’t know why but every cup of tea made with these tea bags seem to break. They’re the flimsiest tea bags I’ve ever known. Always access tes in the cups. They split so easily it’s ridiculous. I wasted at least 10 bags out of box because they had rips in

I just had my first decent cup of tea in months, I have drunk tetley for 30 years 6-8 cups a day. Tonight I bought Yorkshire Tea and it was loverly the taste of tea again instead of dirty dishwater as tetley have been making lately.
Why oh why do these companies ruin products we loved.
I don't see me coming back to Tetley

I thought I was on my own with the taste of the new tetleys tea bags, I was confused why the taste has changed as I thought they only changed the packaging.
I will have to change my brand after over 40 years I just don't like the taste.

I've just had my life change for the worse! Been an addict for Tetley tea for at least 3 years, over 10 large cups a day, even taking supples abroad on holiday or when we lived overseas. Now, in the new packaging is the most revolting brew; what's been changed? and why? I drink it strong - simply leaving the bag in the cup, with milk and freshly drawn water. No dipping, no five mins steeping - just leaving the bag in for max impact. So, I won't say it's weaker, like other reviewers as I can't tell. It's the flavour and smell. Something like dried fish? I'm fairly sure I can't go on with this and will have to change - probs to Yorkshire Tea as a fair second best. Or, Tets can change it back and keep all the faithful happy?

Plastic in tea bags! Should be fined for selling health products that do the opposite!!

Been thinking over the past few days that something didn't taste right when I made my tea. Too much milk I thought, I wasn't leaving the teabag long enough to brew?
Alas, I looked on Trustpilot and tah dah, there they were, comments from others about the same issue!
Shame on you Tetley, I won't be buying from you again! 😡

I've used tetley teabags for ever, my latrst box tastes decidedly weird, it has a slight "minty" taste I cant quite put my finger on.
If the next box taste the smart I will be forced to change after 30 years plus of tetley tea. :(

I thought it was just me that noted the weakness of the tea and like others tried to contact there customer services (laughable) as I thought I had a sub optimal offering. After coming on this site I see that Tetley has adopted the shrinkification model. Same price - less tea. Its weak and woeful and as a consequence I will not be using them any more.

As an aside I will be speaking with Costco about this to establish if they were complicit in this duplicitous provision

Always use tetley tea bags,but now the bags have less tea in and taste weak even if use 2bags a cup. Very disappointed.

I always loved Tetley tea as did the rest of my family but ever since the packaging has changed to the navy box the taste has changed drastically too. We have just chucked them all out as none of us like the new taste they taste disgusting and no longer enjoy or will buy this brand. Shame really. Have tetley really not noticed the difference in taste

Have always used Tetley. They have recently changed their packaging to a navy blue box. Didn't expect any difference with the taste with the new packaging, but tea is noticeably weaker.

Used to get 3 cups from 1 bag
Now 3 bags = 1 cup !!
They even taste different !!!! 😡

Was shocked to see but agree with all of the negative reviews, totally tasteless these days. Will revert to PG Tips that actually has some flavour! I don't care about the price much but when the quality doesn't match the price it's time to change, you may as well drink a non branded cheapo tea rather than Tetley, a third of the price for the same taste.

We have used Tetley tea bags for years and like previous comments when squeezing the tea bags it become obvious there is less tea within. Good bye Tetley!!!!¬!

Just opened a pack of 240 bags after finishing the Tetley bags I'd bulk purchased earlier last year. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, there is less than half the amount of tea leaf in the bags which means even when I'm only making just over half a cup of tea, it tastes extremely weak. Will not be buying tetley again to avoid further disappointment, own brand alternatives feel like they would be a step up in comparison. Tetley, you should reconsider this move if you want to avoid losing any more of your loyal base.

Taste awful, has a plastic/solvent/weird smell and taste.

The taste has became so weak. You need to put 2 tea bags in one cup to get the old tetley taste, which effectively doubles the price of per packet. I won’t buy it again.

I keep buying Tetley tea hoping it will improve but it's taste has changed my family now also won't buy it anymore horrible now
