Was referred to Richmond Pharmacology Trials4us by professor Gillmore at National Amyloidosis Centre in Royal Free Hospital. Had screening appointment with Richmond Pharmacology on 27-6-2022 & saw Ameena who went through all that would be involved in great detail. I then started drug trial & have signed up for entension that I am still on. The black cab transport is excellent. From the moment you entre Richmond Pharmacology building you receive a well organised & warm welcome, First class treatment from all staff. If the discussion with doctor as to how you have been since last visit comes up with a matter of concern they will take action to have it looked into. I would highly recommend anyone who has the opportunity to attend Richmond Pharmacology for drug trial to do so

I have been visiting Richmond since early 2022 as part of a clinical trial for amyloidosis, and the subsequent follow up. I have been very impressd throughout both by the people and the care I have recieved, including the transport arrangements, the welcome at the front desk, the admissions team, and the medical staff. Thank you.

I was lucky enough to be referred to Trials4us ( Richmond Pharmacology) for a clinical trial by my consultant at UCLH. My consultant felt that they were a safe company to be involved with and my experience confirms this. As someone who has stents in their heart and is unable to sufficiently breakdown cholesterol naturally the treatment I was trialling stood to make a significant improvement to my quality of life.
All and any risks were effectively explained to me and the screening process very thorough. When I was unsure the staff waited until I fully understood the paperwork before proceeding and I was most impressed by all the staff, from reception through ward nurses to doctors. Although I am not especially keen on open wards and these can be a bit noisy at night I understand the need for this environment. I was well looked after and made as comfortable as possible. The treatment was successful and the after care very good. I didn't really do it for the money but it was paid fairly and quickly.
Overall I found it to be a good experience for what it is and happily recommend Trials4us to anybody considering participation in a medical trial.

I was diagnosed with Amyloidosis ATTR in 2019 and I thought my days were numbered but here we are in 2026 and I’m still here! This is in no small way due to Prof Gilmore at the Royal Free offering me a place on a drug trial at RP. I jumped at the chance and it has been so worthwhile.
From my very first visit to RP I was made to feel very welcome by Shami and Cathy on reception and over the years by Matt, Derek and Dave Applegate.
The transport system of a black cab is so appreciated and I have got to know the drivers over the years and they are very polite and caring but above all very good drivers.
There have been teething problems during this time but any feedback that is given is usually acted upon and staff, processes and speed of appointment has all improved.
I would thoroughly recommend taking part in a drug trial at RP and hope other people have a similar experience to me.

At the beginning of the "Covid Period" I was diagnosed with Attr wild type Amyloidosis and on my Google research, my reaction "was devastation"!
The hospital consultant reassured me that this was "not the end of the world" with the medication that was available!
Because of various restrictions at this time, a "waiting period" began, but after many months a telephone call was received from a well spoken man who said he was ringing from Richmond Pharmacology (RP),.......who I said,....never heard of them!
He then explained that my name had been received by them for me to attend the trial for Amyloidosis.
This gentleman was polite, courteous and well spoken in reassuring me that this trial could be of great benefit for myself. Would I like to attend with my first reaction as "YES"!
A few days later, I found myself in a taxi being transferred to RP, it felt great as all arrangements had been put into place by RP.
On arrival, I was welcomed by a lady named "Shami", who put all my fears to rest.
After a Covid test I found myself in a "side-room" munching my favorite biscuits and sipping a lovely cup of coffee.
The gentleman who I had spoken too on the phone brought me papers etc for observation, he explained everything and anything that I was not certain of....ask.
After a lengthy meeting,I felt fortunate at being accepted in a life saving,clinical trial and duly signed the relevant papers and thinking my life had been extended by many years!
Little did I know that several years later, I would be still coming to "RP"!
It would be wrong for me to say that no errors or mistakes had not taken place, after all......we were on a learning curve!
Anything that had gone wrong was duly acknowledged and the matter sorted, other people who followed could now have the benefit of this mishap.
During several months of attendance at "RP", accommodation was provided for which I am most grateful.
All-in-all, I found the staff most supportive when asking questions for reassurance, David Applegate was always there if need be in answering any complex questions, if not he would get back to me by e-mail or telephone. What more could anybody ask for?
Looking back, the taxi driver's would ask me on how the trial had gone, would I like to see anything on my return journey home. I found the taxi drivers to be most courteous, well mannered and willing to go that "extra-mile" in making my trip a memorable one.
The staff who I have not mentioned, apologizes given, your help and understanding at the time given was always of paramount importance, you helped me to understand the meaning of "co-operation", your help was most reassuring.
So.....I am on a second stage trial and receiving the relative medication and feel great, in fact, my blood results are better than when I started on this trial.....what more can I say!
Looking back on how "RP" have looked my well being, I would highly recommend them to anybody who is thinking of participating in the Amyloidosis Trial or any of the trials, these could be of benefit.

It was about 4 years ago that I was diagnosed with ATTR Wild type Amyloidosis. I am so grateful to Richmonds for accepting me on their Clinical Trial. They have looked after me so well with everything from travel and accommodation to my infusion and any other medical needs. They also work very closely with the Royal Free Hospital, if I have any problems they are usually my first point of contact. The staff are absolutely brilliant. I highly recommend Richmonds to anyone thinking of participating in medical trials.

I am one of the fortunate people who have taken part in a life saving, clinical trial at Richmond Pharmacology.

In the six years that I have been a participant there has been a steady improvement in all aspects of the trial process from travel and accommodation arrangements to the ‘on the day’ experience’ at the facility.

Staff, especially those led by David Applegate, could not have been more helpful and supportive at all stages of the process. They even take the time to talk to us on the ward when their work schedule allows. Providing an important ‘personal touch’ to the trial.

I would highly recommend Richmond Pharmacology to anyone thinking of participating in any of their trials.

Everything went according to plan and the timings I was given were spot on. The staff were very professional and respectful.

I have been attending Richmond Pharmacology for over six years, participating in my eyes an essential study due to my health condition. From day one I found the staff to be very professional and conscientious in their work. You are put at ease the minute you step through the entrance door by the reception staff. In my early visits life was very difficult with the pandemic, but Richmond managed the situation very well. The accommodation they provided was more than adequate, I was/am feed during my visits, and there is endless coffee served by helpful staff. The treatment areas are bright, well decorated and welcoming. It’s likely I will continue attending Richmond Pharmacology for a number of years, which I have no problem with. Well done Richmond

Attended two assessment days , very professional and very caring, everything that was done was explained prior and assurance given , a great day out that also gives you pride that in some way you are helping people in the future to lead a better healthier life, snack a were great to . Thankyou

You cannot fault the trial and experience it is exceptional everything goes like clockwork on the day u go in so thanks for helping me on getting on with life

I have been with Richmond Pharmacology for over 5 years. I am not a volunteer, I need the trials I am on to survive. I am absolutely sure that with out the RPL trials and the expertise of the teams at RPL I might not be here NOW. I would strongly urge anyone who is interested in medical trails, to review the work done by RPL and put yourself forward. After all, you might not benefit, but the younger generation most certainly will.

Richmond are just an exceptional company in every way

The people are polite and really care about their patients. The front desk are efficient and it feels like everyone likes to do the best they can there.

I would highly recommend becoming a volunteer for this company. They really look after you. I feel safe when I am at the clinic. They also take care of you financially.

I am currently participating in my second trial with Trials4us and have found both experiences to be very positive indeed.

Firstly I would like to mention the recruitment team. They ensured that the process was extremely easy and looked after me extremely well throughout the whole time I was with them. Special mention for Julian who always went that extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed to make the whole process easy.

Secondly I would also like to mention the outpatient team who took over from the recruitment team. Again they always go the extra mile to ensure you have everything you need in place. Special mention for Sayeda here, she is a credit to Richmond.

Thirdly is the medical staff. Again they always go above and beyond to make sure you are well looked after. The doctors are very knowledgeable and happily address any questions/concerns you may have have. The remaining medical staff are also amazing and carry out their duties with professionalism and kindness.

Lastly but by no means least are the support staff, from receptionists to the catering lady are all fantastic, friendly and welcoming.

All I would say is that if you have signed up for trials just be patient as you may not be suitable for a particular trial but there may be one further down the road that you are perfect for.

All in all I am happy to recommend trials4us.

I have been participating in trials for over 3 years. During this period I have found it most rewarding to be part of a medical trial developing a potential cure for a certain medical problem.
I have always found the administration & medical teams friendly & caring of patients needs.
A big plus to participation was a full medical we received every six months.
I would strongly recommend anyone offered a place on a trial to say ‘yes’ to participating for the benefit of medical science in developing a new drug or medicine.

I would like to raise a complaint regarding my recent experience with Richmond Pharmacology.

I initially contacted their team in February to express interest in participating in one of your clinical trials. During this process, I completed a phone screening with a lovely lady where I answered all relevant medical questions. Following this, I provided consent for them to contact my GP and access my medical records.

At a later stage, I was informed by the lovely lady that my medical records had been received and that everything was in place. I was told that whenever I was ready, I could proceed with booking into a trial. I was also given potential dates in April, as I was unavailable during February and March.

Based on this information, I confirmed my availability and was advised to call back to secure a booking. I therefore requested and received approval for time off work.

However, when I contacted their team again on Monday to finalise the booking, I was told by another associate (Julia) that I needed to provide consent for my medical records again, which I found confusing as this had already been done.

The following day, I received an email stating that it would not be possible to book me in after a review of my medical records. This is particularly frustrating, as I had previously been told that they received my medicals records already. That my medical records were on their system already and that I could proceed with booking whenever I was ready.

It appears that there is a lack of clear communication and internal coordination. I understand that there is a need for a medical review by a doctor before confirming eligibility. But, by telling me that we already have your medicals records in your system that you just need to book you in, I thought that they already checked my eligibility and so on and determined that I would be eligible for the trial. While I understand that a doctor must review medical records before confirming eligibility, I was given misleading information that led me to believe this process had already been completed.I know that I would have to attend a pre-trial testing where they check if you have drugs on the system, check your urine and so on. I know all of this because I’m a blood donor. I even stopped donated blood because of this trials.

As a result of this misinformation, I booked annual leave unnecessarily.

I was later told that my ineligibility may be due to medication I take. I only mediation that I take is for migraines (such as Anadin Extra and other occasional medication that I take just occasionally when I have migraines as I don’t take them every single day. Only when I have migraines!). I fully understand and accept if this affects my eligibility: me taking pills for migraines occasionally. However, my concern is not the decision itself, but the process and the misleading information I was given. Apparently the doctor only check your eligibility when they book you in on the system. So you book in and then the doctor go to access your medical records to check eligibility at the same time.

Additionally, when I requested to speak with a manager, I was told this was not necessary by Julia. That she understood how I felts, but that it was an unnecessary thing to do. When I eventually spoke with a manager (Amina), I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, and there was little understanding of the inconvenience caused. She was very full of herself! She told me that she didn’t see any problem. I hope both ladies never are put in such a situation. Good luck for them. I think the company is in good hands.

Overall, I am very disappointed with the level of customer service and communication. I would strongly recommend that in future, participants are clearly informed and please if you want to participate don’t book any time off when they tell you to the just call to booked you in.

This experience has resulted in a significant waste of my time and annual leave. Yes, because now I book holidays for nothing! Don’t waste your time.

They never respond, maybe it's scam just to collect data.
