** DO NOT BUY ANY CAR FROM HERE-GO SOMEWHERE ELSE**
** DO NOT BUY ANY CAR FROM HERE**
After purchasing a Nissan X-Trail AO16 0FT which has been put back on the forecourt the day after it was returned and is still up for sale, we encountered lots of serious faults which were covered up at time of sale. We returned the car to Westbrooks to rectify faults alongside serious mould throughout all the upholstery. We have three children to drive round so clearly a health a health hazard. Westbrooks kept the car so long it ran out of warranty. We lodged a complaint with the finance company to step in and help. Westbrooks returned the car without any faults fixed and the car broke down several times, they refused to collect it.
After two independent reports- one actually from the finance company- and countless phone calls, complaints, emails, photos, breakdown recoveries, it was agreed by the finance company to cancel the agreement and return the car.
We endured stress, frustration, loss of money and time over this matter and to this day we have not had an apology from Westbrooks.
The list of faults are as follows:
Damp chairs and has a foul smell.
The lights at the back outside have broken plastic.
Interior lights not working.
The Bluetooth stereo and sound keeps cutting out and freezes.
Left folding mirror not working.
Squeaky noise coming from the rear of the car while driving.
USB front not working.
Drivers and passengers and rear window not working properly.
Tracking steering.
Rubber seal round the boot.
Cigarette lighter in car not working in front
Boot shuts on its own doesn't stop when standing behind it.
Drivers window is very slow
(All windows do not work properly)
Glass in back lights behind the lights.
Interior lights not working in the rear
Stereo keeps locking out asking for dealership code
Passenger folding mirror not working.
Clutch is on its way out. (Completely failed a few months after sale)
(Formal 1 and breakdown recovery also said this then it completely failed a few months after sale).
Oil is all over the engine bay and all underneath
There is a leak of something in the passenger foot well.
There is also no spare key which it was sold with 2 keys.
Number plate lights not working at the rear.
There is a red flashing light warning for low oil pressure when car is on.
Makes horrible noises runs rough sequels and smells like a burnt clutch.
No towing eye in case of a breakdown
Missing parcel shelf for the car which I was told would be ordered for the vehicle when I collected it.
Bonnet was loose.
Lots of mould.
Missing locking wheel nut key
Wheel alignment is out.
Also Usb port, aux and cigarette ports not working.
Electric handbrake faults.
Stop/start stopped working
Car cuts out
Has burn holes in seats.
Missing panels.
Hole in drivers foot well.
Missing lift jack for changing the wheel.
Also the Independent report found more faults such as missing bits under the engine.
They couldn't fix these issues in the 9 months we had it so it's very unlikely they have now.
Customer service was horrendously bad, phone calls and emails were not returned when promised. Passed from person to person.
All in all they don't care, not interested in the customer and only in it for a quick profit.
Please be wary.
Unprofessional, untrustworthy and incompetent cowboys
Bought a car from Westbrook in January 2026. It broke down within a mile of leaving the forecourt (an ABS sensor had failed). They kept it to repair it and delivered it a few days later. They did try and fix it the same day but ordered the wrong part.
A few days later the car broke down again with a binding brake caliper, which also cooked the TPMS sensor. Because of this I got an independent report done. This highlighted a load of other faults, one of which is a safety issue with the suspension. I was advised not the drive the vehicle by the engineer. There was around a dozen faults with this car in total. With this I asked for a refund as the car was not fit for purpose. They refused the refund. Which is illegal under the consumer rights act 2015.
They did take the vehicle back to repair it. However, a week or so after they “repaired” it another brake caliper failed. Along with an engine management light that came on. All the time they are refusing a refund.
I was told at point of sale that the car had been serviced. Judging by the air filter being filled with debris and the coolant level was below minimum I would disagree. Both key fobs needed the batteries changing. All little things I would have expected to be done from an AA affiliated garage, or anyone selling cars as a profession.
The vehicle has broken down 4 times in 6 months. Bearing in mind the vehicle has only been drivable for about 3 of those weeks. It has been stationary on my drive for most of that time. The majority of fuel and miles added to the vehicle were travelling to and from Westbrook to get the vehicle repaired. On the latest occasion they collected it for repair, the vehicle was used to carry out personal errands. Using more of my fuel and adding more milage. They even left an empty sandwich packet in the car for me, thanks for that. On both occasions they collected the vehicle it was advised not to drive the vehicle, due to the heat build up from the binding brake calipers. On both occasions they drove the vehicle for about an hour to get back to Peterborough.
I do not recommend you buy a car from Westbrook. They are unprofessional, untrustworthy and incompetent. It took them 3 months and a prompt from me to do the V5 registration documentation. I don’t believe any preparation went into this vehicle, which is why I am having so many issues.
Do not buy a vehicle from Westbrook.
I highly recommend this dealer
I recently bought a vehicle from Westbrook car sales. On my drive home I noticed an issue with the gearbox. It was grinding when changing into 4th. Once I got it home I contacted the dealer who was very professional and happy to rectify this. They took the vehicle back and gave me a curtesy car to use whilst they had my vehicle. I now have it back and im very happy. The issue has been sorted and they have also fit some new brake pads as a goodwill gesture.
Its refreshing to see a dealer that cares about customer service and not just the sale. The aftersales care says a lot about a dealer and unfortunately some dont want to know once they have your money. Westbrook car sales have shown to be an honest, trustworthy dealer and I 100% recommend them.
Thank you Westbrook car sales

ABYSMAL COMPANY! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!
If myself and my husband could rate this company 0 stars then we would. I cannot even begin to express how poor the customer service has been from this company. Three weeks ago, myself and my husband bought a car; we were told that the car would be ready by the weeked - two weeks later, and we are still waiting! We have been repeatedly ignored and palmed off. The company seldom call back when they say they will and when they do because you have pestered them, they are absolutely useless and have zero updates. The car needed a wet belt change - this was not mentioned until after the car had been bought. I have had wet belts changed previously, and they have never taken this long. We have gone from being told that the mechanic is busy, to the mechanic doesn't have the right part, to then being told that the car is being worked on as we speak, before receiving contradictory statements that imply the part/tool is still yet to arrive.
The man that we spoke to today was exceptionally rude to both myself and my husband. As my husband had to return to work, I took the phone call and he said 'I'm not being funny, but I don't know why I am talking to you because your husband bought the car' and 'this is nothing to do with you' before proceeding to say that 'you did not pay for the car, the finance company did' - who do you think pays the finance company!? I felt that there was a deep sense of misogyny from this man as he did not like being challenged by a woman.
He also cut my husband off while he was talking!
What a rude, rude, rude individual this man is!
The person that we dealt with initially was at the very least polite about the inconvenience, but this man has absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever and takes absolutely no accountability or responsibility for what is still happening.
He seems to think that because we were given a courtesy car (which is 6 years old than the car we OWN and is rusty) that there is absolutely not rush.
We will never deal with this company again and will be putting in an official complaint with the finance company about poor conduct and communication. This is anything but a reputable garage and they do not deserve people's hard earned money.
We are fundamentally disappointed with the dreadful experience we are still encountering, and from the looks of the reviews others have left, I am sure we can expect a comment wherein the company try to justify their actions and blame the customer!
Dont know where to start...I gave this…
Not very honest it appears!?
Had an audi on forecourt for sale from March 2025. Looked great and low mileage in Mar 2025!
Enquired March 2026 , a full year later and fresh pics pictures showed no change in mileage.
Where had the car been for a year?
Arranged a specialist buyers Inspection at cost to ensure car was good to buy.
They did not show up, even though they arranged an mot that passed the car!
Draw your own conclusions? Maybe they love the car so much they hated to sell it??
I would beware as its a hit and miss experience at best of times looking at reviews and after sales would not be too good by all accounts
Recommendation from a cautious buyer
Rather than write a simple review just saying how happy I am, I thought that it would perhaps be more relatable and beneficial to explain my experience in greater detail. As I'm sure many of you are cautious buyers.
A bit late to write this review, but it also goes to show that the car is still doing well. I got an Audi a3 convertible from Westbrook in July/Aug? I believe it was Adam with whom I dealt. Not pushy at all and went above and beyond to fix an apparent ABS issue found upon a second inspection on incredibly short notice before I went to view the car.
I'm understandably cautious when buying a second-hand car, and was given all the space and time to review the paperwork history and the vehicle by myself.
There was a sound that I was unhappy with in low gears, so they said that they would take it to their garage briefly for a look over. I was told that it was safe but also common with the car. Which I was concerned about as I'd previously owned an S3, and another hatchback convertible, so already had a rough idea of what was worth my concern. I still purchased the car because it was a great deal and everything else looked good.
Still concerned and cautious, I took the car to my garage for an inspection to see if I had to get any work done within or outside of the warranty I was given (which is worth a read). I've been going to my garage for many years and know them well, so getting their thumbs up was a real relief. They said that although I felt the breaking was weak, everything seemed to be in great order, and I'd got myself a fantastic car for the money. ( I live in Norfolk and had noticed the prices locally seemed much higher.) Travelling there was a risk; however, I'd thoroughly recommend a visit.
Months later, the car drives beautifully, and not just that, it's the cheapest and most incredibly fuel-efficient car to run that I have ever owned, which is a non expected bonus. Long may it continue!
Like I said, there was no pushing at all. I was given plenty of time, space, and information to make my decision... and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A second opinion confirmed the quality that I received, so all round based upon my experience, I would thoroughly recommend this dealership.
Excellent service from jay and his team…
Excellent service from jay and his team kept every promise he made to us highly recommended
Thank you for your great customer…
Thank you for your great customer service, quick response, easy communication, ready to help , friendly and very professional. Grateful client.
SHOCKING. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Absolutly shocking place with the gift of the gab.
We bought a series 1 BMW and it didn’t even get us home, the oil pressure light came on, we called them and they came and picked it up as we lived miles away.
They said it was a Vacuum seal and fixed it but it looks like they just put another used one on.
A few days later it happened again, low oil pressure light came back on. We have spent hundreds on the car and the problem is still not fixed and soon the engine will give up, they have no honestly or integrity, they will sell you a car but once you leave the showroom their commitment has gone.
Useless robbing conmen with no shame.

Jay and the team were fantastic
Jay and the team were fantastic, so glad to have purchased our ford galaxy from this lovely dealership.
WOW PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM HERE
Wow if i could give any advice it would be do not bother buying a car from this garage. I bought the Volvo XC60 KN15VFJ same day i got it Parking sensors Broken spent 4 days in volvo trying to fix it. Door would take several clicks on remote to open turned out was a faulty lock.
Window jammed down had to get AA out to temporary fix. The car has rust on both front arches and boot issues. It is scraped on back bumper. To top it off i had to get a recovery team to collect car and take it back to garage. We have not yet been refunded and the car is already back up for sale.
These lot are awful the car was sold with a safety recall. Which they said they didnt know yet it was on MOT record. I got this sorted and yet again without the car. I hope no one else suffers like we have. Bought on 24.01.2025 has taken this long to sort and still not refunded.
Great service, car choice and car condition...
My parents were looking for a certain car, fortunately Westbrook had one available. Car in a great condition, MOT and Service done with no issues, in great condition.
The staff was very friendly and helpfull, answered all the questions we had. Very professional, made the purchase very easy for us, completed all the paperwork so we didn't need to worry about anything.
The car has been washed for us prior to taking it home. They also gave us a good price for the car we had as a part exchange.
We are very happy with the purchase, and the Westbrook, and thankful for all the help and service provided. We can really recommend this dealership.
Do not ever buy a car from these…
Don not ever buy a car from these scammers.
They told me that the car i bought from them in Aug 2024 had a new MOT and a service done which included new discs and pads.
None of this is true it did have an MOT til May 2025 so wasn't too worried about that.
I had to request proof of service and when it came you could tell they had got their garage to knock something up as if you had ever owned a Jaguar XE youa ain't getting serviced for £125.
Add to this the engine mounts have gone the chain is on its way out and they reckon it had an AA inspection but again no proof of this just habit of paper with ticks.
Spoke to them about issues today and got a load of attitude and no accountability.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE DODGY DEALERS
Simple straightforward
Travelled from Nottingham yesterday to pick up my Audi a6, great service simple and straightforward how it should be.
Avoid like the plague!
Bought a car from these guys late last year.
Had the car no more than 2 days before I had to take it back. Was told I couldn't return it but had to have it fixed by them (it was their mates garage who watched YouTube tutorials on how to fix it)
After the car was "fixed" i drove it for no more than a week before having to take it back again. This time the car was taken off me for a week for repairs...again issue not fixed.
I then took the car to Mazda who told me the whole engine was full of sludge and needed a new engine and new turbo (£10,000 worth of repairs)
After they had refused to return the car yet again I had no choice but to use my finance company's legal team to return the car to them. This whole process took 4 months. I had no car for nearly 3 of those months before everything was finalised and I finally got my money back.
Top guys and garage
Top guys and garage. From start to finish. Very happy with the car. Deffo recommended!
