Backed out of purchase causing financial strain
Bought our car via a Carwow, we submitted all photos and evidence of any known errors. Upon collection, they changed their mind for subjective 'issues' and backed out of the transaction causing us severe financial strain. Horrible company.

Technical Incompetence
Paid £168 for a diagnostic check at Wilmoths Hastings to identify cause of problem with air conditioning in my Peugeot 2008. Advised that replacement parts were needed at a repair cost including labour of upwards of £500. Took the car for a second opinion to a local non Peugeot specialist garage who identified a broken connector in the wiring to the a/c fan as the real source of the problem they fixed this for a total cost of 30 minutes labour.
After 2+ weeks I have had no response from Wilmoths to my complaint. In summary my experience of Wilmoths Hastings service department is one of technical incompetence combined with total indifference to customer service

Wilmoths Wokingham …
Please go elsewhere if you want honesty and reliability.
Sadly I didn’t look at the reviews before going as if I had I would have avoided them like the plague.
I was told it had a full service history and that the paperwork would be there on collection, no paperwork and it doesn’t have a full service history. I tried to pull out of buying but I was told by the salesman I couldn’t as I would be penalised financially. Felt pressured in to going through with it. Brakes failed the following week, took it back was told no problem with the brakes, took it to an independent trusted mechanic who stated that the brakes are completely failing when in first gear or reverse, took the car back they fixed the issue after many calls and escalation to management.
Took a further month to get the paint work and valet sorted (also promised would be done on collection)
Please think really carefully before going here I would hate for someone else to be as disappointed and let down as I have been.

Have just purchased a new car from the Ashford branch. An extremely pleasant experience compared to previous dealerships that I have dealt with.I have nothing but praise for Guy Paddick who throughout was very pleasant, professional and accommodating. He sorted out some issues regarding delivery of the car and,on collection day,to do with the free 5 day insurance. Very happy to give a 5 star review for my transaction.Thank you.

How to Destroy All Trust in 20 Seconds
The Story
We bought our Outlander from Wilmoths Winchester in 2019. We got the warranty and had it serviced every year at Wilmoths exactly according to the manufacturer’s schedule. All great, and we built a good relationship with the Winchester team. On our last service (June 2025) the car came back with the air con not working. I raised this straight away with our assigned person in Winchester and he told me that it was the last day of operation of the Winchester site and that I would need to go to Southampton to get this resolved. My problems of non-functioning A/C were clearly small compared with the closure of the Winchester site (which is now closed) and associated redundancies, so I wished him well, told him what a good experience we had always had with Wilmoths Winchester and that I would contact Wilmoths Southampton as he suggested.
I booked into Southampton (24th June 2025) and the young chap (in a Devon Fishing shirt) I met at reception was very polite and helpful when I arrived. We agreed he would need to check the job sheet with his manager because there should be no charge for rectifying the air con fault (to be clear, the air con was working when I dropped the car to Winchester at the previous service). The manager person came up to me, and without introducing himself or asking me what I would like, he told me it would straight away be £200 to re-gas the system, and that was mandatory. Further, when I explained the situation with Winchester and that the air con was working when I dropped the car off, he said, and I quote, “…well I only have your word for it…”. He added that, having looked in the service records, he could see that we had never had the air con serviced; I explained that we always simply dropped the car with Winchester and they serviced it according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. This is notwithstanding the fact that the AC was working when I dropped the car at Winchester and not when I collected it. Figuring that the conversation was going nowhere, and having reached a point where I did not want this person anywhere near my car, I left Wilmoths Southampton. What a colossal waste of time.
Reflections
In all circumstances, if you take your car to a professional for work, it should come back in the same or better state than when you took it in. There are no excuses for this. I was optimistic that Wilmoths would recognise this basic principle, but no – certainly not the manager in Wilmoths Southampton.
I have several cars and have had years of interacting with main dealers and independents alike. The manager person I spoke with at Wilmoths Southampton, in my view represents the worst of the old-school main dealer mentality; i.e. ‘charge first, ask questions later’ and ‘the customer is always wrong’. Such poor behaviour, with no understanding of how to interact with customers, no ownership of an issue created by his organisation, and no valuing of me as a long-standing customer.
I don’t care if Wilmoths Southampton recognise my issue here; I don’t want an apology or remedy; I don’t want Wilmoths Southampton anywhere near my Outlander. I do want to share this story; and I do want to advise any customers, current or potential, to please avoid this place.
Positives coming from this experience? Well I have faith that the younger generation actually do understand how to interact properly in business; and to that young person whom I initially met and who was helpful and polite, I would suggest you get a job somewhere else.

I WAS FLABBERGASTED
I booked my Kia Picanto for an MOT with the Eastbourne branch and the service was just outstanding. Very friendly welcoming staff. My MOT passed with a minor defect that they discussed with me after and advised me on the rough price of the repairs.
What left me speechless was that they even washed and hoovered my car before I picked it up. I've never heard of this in my driving life and was so pleasantly surprised - it made my day that they saved me a few hours of hand washing it myself :)

Very Poor Customer Service.
I have been a customer of Wilmoths for nearly 30 years. I have requested 3 times that a senior manager or the M.D. contact me regarding an issue. So far, nothing. Received an email from marketing saying they would contact me, again, nothing. Manufacturer telephoned me to say that Wilmoths claim that I had not raised my issue. This is not true. Very poor customer service.

Sam, the greatest customer service professional.
I wanted to replace lots of parts of my C3 Picasso and met Sam from Wilmoths Wokingham. Sam gave me the best customer service anyone could ever hope for. He addressed every concern I had, located the items I needed and answer all of my questions. He was patient, kind and courteous.
Thanks and sincere congratulations to the entire Wilmoths Wokingham team for such an amazing professional.

Failed MOT on wobbly armrest
Failed my Berlingo's MOT on a slightly wobbly armrest and conned me into buying another. I later spoke to at least 6 other MOT testing centres who said the armrest isn't an integral part of the seat and not an MOT failure. I wrote to Mr Wilmoth himself, but the ignorant excuse for a human didn't even reply. Avoid Wilmoths like the plague.

Wilmoths Southampton
Wilmoths Southampton! Avoid at all costs. Purchased a van in December 2023. Had several problems which should have been picked up at point of purchase. Customer Service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Despite emailing the manager several times I’m yet to receive a response. Do not buy from here.

My Citroen C3 Air cross
My Citroen C3 Air cross was booked into Wilmoths Uckfield on the 14th January. It was very difficult to drive as the engine kept going into limp mode.due to a possible failure of the cambelt .I managed to get it to them on the 7th using my breakdown cover. I was not expecting it to be ready until after the 14th so l was delighted to get a call on the 10th to say it was ready. I picked it up the next day and was extremely pleased that not only was there no charge but they had also carried out a full valet. Thank you for your efficiency and helpfulness.

Highly recommend Mike from Willmoths Citron in Ashford. No pushy sales tactics and really helpful and informative. He has gone above and beyond to make sure my partner's (used) car is up to standard. We had a sensor issue which Mike resolved without question and he even collected and returned the vehicle personally. Can't ask for more really. A+ service. Never normally leave reviews but this is worth calling out.

NOT a way to build custom
Wilmoth’s Crayford - a new Fiat dealership and sadly the only one close to us. Our initial good impression soon turned sour - Charlie was extremely efficient and helpful, however all went downhill from there. Completed work but left warning lights on so had to return to have them cleared. They would not turn off Service warning light tho’. Had a service at RAC recommended garage recently as no Fiat dealer in our area at the time. Warning light had only just started to pop up as service had been done earlier than scheduled. Wilmoths adamant even when shown service invoice - Fiat supported us but even then Wilmoths stood their ground… NOT a way to win custom! Would rather drive 35 miles to next dealership than give Wilmoths our custom ever again as also don’t feel confident about their expertise either…

Quick to help save the day
We had a little dilemma with a key which fell inside the door. The guys at Citroen Hastings were very quick to help and got the key out within minutes of arrival - especially helpful as the key was to the privately owned caravan we were staying in! Very grateful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Purchased a van with big smile but.....
Purchased a van with big smile on my face but after an hour journey to get home my stop start system failures and air-conditioning gas disappeared. Reported same day but appointment made after months due to lack of mechanics in local branch. Ended up paying over £500 for a battery replacement which caused the stop start failure and wear and tear not covered by warranty. Air-conditioning system still doesn't work after a several regassing. I ended up to request a phone call from the managing director Mr Sunil Joshi who wanted negotiating a battery replacement fee to half of the price but I rejected it because I felt was an unfair and I'm more proud to accept this kind of offers.
Shame as I love the van and I use it to run my own business and decided to put a fancy logo of my business which is very recognised locally but I hate a citroen badge on it.
