I was worried that an online legal firm wouldn’t provide the service I would get from a face to face legal team, I was very wrong, I’m getting on a bit and I’ve had a few mortgages, this was the simplest I’ve ever done courtesy of Stacey and the team. I would highly recommend Your Conveyancer, comms were simple, document requests and transfers easy and comms very simple too. The site works well and is clear, basically there is a box that says ‘do this’ or ‘you’ve done everything’ which was helpful for those of us with IT challenges, there is also a clear timeline so you can see what’s being done. It was really the least stressful process you can imagine - thank you!!

We have just completed on our first home, and Amy Aylward at Your Conveyancer looked after the whole purchase for us from start to finish.

As first-time buyers we came into this knowing very little about the English conveyancing process, and a lot of it felt daunting at first. Amy explained each stage clearly and in plain language the mortgage report, the searches, the mortgage deed and how it needed to be signed and witnessed so we always knew what we were being asked to do and why. Whenever we emailed with a question, we had an answer quickly, and nothing ever felt like a chase.

Our deposit was a gift transferred from abroad, which we had expected to be the difficult part. Amy told us exactly what was needed, dealt with the paperwork efficiently, and the funds were received and cleared without any of the delays we had been warned about.

Once the searches and enquiries were in, things moved very quickly, and we exchanged and completed well within the life of our mortgage offer. Everything was handled calmly and professionally, and the communication throughout was excellent.

We would not hesitate to recommend Amy and Your Conveyancer to anyone buying a home, particularly other first-time buyers or anyone bringing funds in from overseas.

I’d like to update my review as since posting my original, I was contacted by Rebecca at Your Conveyancer.
She couldn’t have been more helpful & immediately looked into our situation. If the companies normal level of service is on par with how Rebecca worked then I’ve no doubt this is a place that gets things done.
Sadly that was not our experience and so I can’t give them full marks, but if they do as they say and use my experience as a learning exercise then Im sure they can offer better to future customers.

If you’re looking for a company who have zero customer service skills and want to ensure your remortgage date comes and goes without progress, then this is the company for you.
I’d personally like to call out Alison Watt.
Her complete inability to reply to emails and lack of any human conversation made the process extra stressful, and helped ensure nothing happened on time.

They use a completely automated system, which is all well and good.
But a little personal communication at the start to ensure you, an average Joe with no conveyancer training, understand the process really wouldn’t go a miss.

I felt I was not receiving much paperwork to sign and asked Alison about some outstanding docs. She sent these via email - just an attachment. No actual communication.
I’d like to note at this point that the required paperwork was to be found on the automated system, buried amongst pages or updates. Had she had the foresight to mention this & point me in the right direction, I’d have been able to go & find things myself & would have been much more autonomous going forward.
A simple bit of guidance. But no. Too much trouble for Alison.

I then contacted Alison over a month before the completion date to check in and make sure there was nothing holding things up, as I was about to be on holiday for 2 weeks.
I received no response.

Assuming all was fine, a week before completion I contacted again to check in & make sure all was on track. Only to be told that it wasn’t going to complete in time as I’d not handed the necessary paperwork in!
Again, I had to get it sent to me as I wasn’t aware of its location within the system, when all she’d had to do was point me to the automated system at the very beginning and avoid all this confusion!

By the end my remortgage completed just over a month late (so at a variable rate on my existing mortgage) when the original process had began 6 months in advance to ensure it all happened in time.
Alison generally didn’t respond to most of my questions in my emails unless they helped her directly, and ignored emails entirely where I was asking for updates.
The only email she sent containing actual communication with strict instructions on how to proceed and when by, was for her payment.

Overall this was a horrible process. Extremely stressful, unhelpful & lacking in any sort of personal care.
AI chatbots have more personality & empathy than Alison. And frankly I’d have rather dealt with one of those, because atleast they reply with useful information and pretend to care about doing a good job.

Avoid avoid avoid.
My wife and I were instructed to use Your Conveyancer for our remortgage earlier this year and had a terribly stressful and costly experience. We started the process in January and found the online portal unclear and overwhelming with pages and pages of legal documentation and no clear instructions on which specific documentation required which input. We received absolutely zero guidance from Alison Watt who was assigned to manage our case. She was rude (if she communicated at all) and utterly, utterly useless.

We were due to complete in May and spent those months consistently emailing her to find out what we needed to do and completing them to ensure progress was timely. She would often ignore these and when she would reply, her email would contain only an attached document and no text. We tried to ensure everything was complete and chased multiple times before the deadline to make sure. After ignoring us again, Alison then told us some other pieces of paperwork had been missed on the online portal and consequently we would not complete on time because of this, costing us more money.

One email at the beginning or earlier in the process with instructions on which documents required our attention would have sufficed to save Alison’s inbox, as well as our time, stress and money. Unfortunately, the lasting impression is that Alison would rather actively leverage her position to delay and cost her clients money. Her only timely and clear instructions came after our late completion where she was requesting her payment for her appalling ‘service’.

I am very pleased with how I was supported by Your conveyance team, all the members of staff I spoke were amazing and respectful and really to assist. I appreciate all the staffs that supported me during my remortgage finance process. Thanks

Stacey was very professional and efficient in responding to all communications and actioning tasks. She was able to very clearly explain the steps required to complete my remortgage and always happy to help with my queries.
