Based off of my personal experiece, I think staff were very unhelpful and provided a bad service overall.
When I had joined this insurance firm, I had paid in full for my policy. The next day they have sent me an email of cancellation of my policy with no apparent reason. Only 7 days to respond and to which the only solution they gave was to pay a premium.
When I reached out to the customer service team, I was told that apparently I didn't give the right information they required and I misled them by with holding other claims that I apparently had.
This came as a surprise to me as I didn't know of any other claims, my previous insurer whom I was with for over 10 years, they issued me a statement of fact and my no claims bonus certificate. There were no additional claims noted there.
I declined the accusations and explained to them that I had no idea what the other 2 claims were. Staff was very unhelpful, they expected me to pay the amount and if i wanted to say anything to dispute this unjust price increase they did, they wouldn't let me. Not willing to hear out, only wanted me to pay up. I don't think anyone should ever pay or be framed for something that didn't occur. I have tried to also tell them that as my insurers i expect them to uncover what these claims are for, its fraudulent activity and a big concern for me. I have never with held any information and i got my previous insurer to verify the facts again.
Upon further contact, XYZ Insurance still could not accept any of my documentations. They made the process very difficult and made a lot of accusations towards me.
I still to this day, dont know what the other two claims are about.
When cancelling with them, since there was no intention to resolve (unless i pay up), they made the process still very difficult. This insurance group is better to avoid as they can easily switch up and ask for more money after you join them. They'll lure you in with decent quotes, but only to unnecessary charge you later.
Upon cancelling with them, i still haven't received my refund. This speaks for itself.
Even the cancellation method needs to be examined. They made me write it up MYSELF. In black ink they told me what to write word by word and to sign it below. Not only is this not proffesional at all, but it really made it seem that I was the one cancelling the policy with them, even though they left me with no choice- they wanted to add these other 2 unknown claims to my history.
Moreover, upon my last review, I don't believe XYZ Insurance can disclose my information regarding my claims like they have on their recent response to my review. Any customers claims dates aren't for public use and this is very alerting as it is GDPR. As a firm, you cannot just state customer details in public.
This tells you a lot about what to expect from such a company.
Avoid at all costs!

I took out insurance on the 24/6/26 to start on the 29/6/26 but I decided to cancel on the 25/6/26 due to some issues and they refused to refund my initial payment of 545 pounds.

However, we believe your review does not accurately reflect the circumstances surrounding your policy, and for transparency, we feel it is important to clarify the facts.
Before your policy was placed on cover, you completed our mandatory compliance call. During this call, you were reminded of your duty to provide complete and accurate information and advised that failing to do so could result in additional premiums, changes to your policy, or cancellation. As with all insurance policies, it is the policyholder's responsibility to ensure that the information provided is accurate and complete.
During the sale, you advised that a claim dated 15/06/2026 had been settled on a non-fault basis. Following the inception of your policy, the insurer carried out its routine checks using the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE) database. These checks identified that this claim had not been settled as non-fault and instead remained outstanding. In addition, two further fault claims, dated 18/02/2025 and 16/08/2024, had not been disclosed during the quotation process. As a result, the policy no longer met the insurer's underwriting criteria.
Once this information became available, we contacted you promptly to explain the situation and offered an alternative quotation with another insurer. You chose not to proceed with the alternative quotation.
For this reason, we respectfully disagree with the statement that the policy was cancelled due to issues with XYZ Insurance. The policy could not continue because the information disclosed during the quotation process did not match the insurer's subsequent validation checks.
