Finally I found a blog that is both helpful and really, really fun. I am not much for grammar rules but the way they are presented here makes a lot of sense and I can remember them!

An excellent, cost-effective resource for German learning with a personal touch. The newsletter is quirky and fun, the methods of learning are flexible to different types of learners, and it's overall interesting and helpful in day to day life. Long live Emanuel!

I have a degree in German, but I still find Yourdailygerman incredibly useful and the best German grammar resource I have ever come across on the internet. The explanations of colloquial usage are particularly helpful.

I can’t say enough good things about this website—it’s truly one of my fav resources that I’ve found for learning German. Everything on the site has such a personal touch, and the creator’s sense of humor makes even tricky grammar topics feel approachable and fun. I love how real-life examples are used throughout—it makes the content feel alive and practical, not abstract or textbook-y... and if there isn't something he specifically added, there's an option for chatgpt to chime in, which is also super helpful. I’m currently taking intensive classes in Germany and working with a tutor, and this site has become the perfect companion for my studies. It fills in the gaps with smart, relatable explanations and perspectives that my formal lessons don’t always cover. I honestly look forward to each new post because I know it’s going to be both useful and entertaining. You can really feel the passion and care behind it all, and that makes a huge difference. He always covers one particular topic from an unexpected angle, and these articles, explanations, and tests are not only fun, but also practical. I like that there's always an English translation directly in the newsletter, and it's possible to check your understanding of German without switching context.

I like Emmanuel's writing style and he has a different approach from other language sites. His explanation of German word order really helped me.

I have been learning German for a couple years now. Mostly with Duo lingo and a few other on line resources.
I found yourdailygerman while looking for clarification on word usage and found the articles interesting, entertaining and informative. His articles, lessons and tests have helped me better understand both the German language and culture.
I subscribed and look forward to his emails every week. I recommend this site to anyone who wants to improve their German language skills.

Your Daily German has been helping me with my German learning for several years now. Emanuel has put together a wonderful resource!

Emanuel imparts a lot of value for free in his weekly lesson which you can automatically receive in your email. Especially nice is the audio on many of the example sentences. He also answers any queries you may have regarding the lesson.

I love these lessons and quizzes. I always ask for more examples of the phrases/words when I skype – now, teams – with my German friends. The new words and phrases I learn here I use with my granddaughter, who is growing up learning both English and German.

I learnt German in 1958, have visited Germany and Switzerland on various occasions, read the Bible in German - and still find lots to learn.

Emanuel has a rare gift for weaving together comparisons, stories, tables and illustrations to make sense of this intricate language, to make it lucid and fun - in writing, audio, quizzes, and Unicorns! After a year I'm still fascinated.

I've been finding the answers in YourDailyGerman to the questions that have been bothering me in the last 2 years. I get very bothered in "in person" lessons. I've been studying on my own with books and online. Books that don't explain the grammar! Online courses that don't explain the grammar! Youtubers that drag you for 30 minutes to explain anything. I really like the funny way Emanuel explain things in YourDailyGerman. I have a feeling I finally found my salvation here. Habemus Emanuel! Thanks!!!

Emanuel is such an engaging writer—even if I don't get as far as doing the lesson (embarrassing confession) I still always read his intro just because I so much enjoy the way he writes. But he is great at explaining German too. He's really worth 5 stars.

Emmanuel's delving into the background of German words (and their connections with English) really helps to make sense of them, and makes them stick more easily in the mind.
