Don't open a business account -you will loose money
I recently opened a business account and transferred funds from my own personal account as a capital investment, clearly using “Capital Investment” as the payment reference. Despite the payment being made in my own name, and the bank already having my details as a director of the business, the funds were placed on hold for a fraud check.
I find this extremely concerning and frustrating. The bank’s system appears to be unable to recognise a straightforward transfer from a director’s personal account into their own business account. If these had been customer funds, this situation could have resulted in a serious financial issue, particularly as I would have had no control over the funds while they were being held.It means the bank is using an outdated software for fraudulent checks So actual fraud can take your money away.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering opening a business account carefully considers their options before choosing this bank.
