No post-sale service

Been trying to contact them for weeks about a defective product, they won't respond to the tickets I make through their website.

Edited to add - This review is relating to several attempts to contact them made through their website regarding an order made in mid-July 2025. This is unrelated to the "out of warranty repair" query their response below mentions

We've located an email communication from you dated 12/05/2025 requesting assistance with an Out of Warranty repair on your Maxwell headphones. We promptly responded to your enquiry on 13/05/2025 providing a repair quotation and further details regarding the return process, though we unfortunately did not receive a further response from you, and have no record of any additional communications from you prior to or beyond this.

We are more than happy to assist further with your Out of Warranty repair - To help facilitate this, we recommend that you reply to our Customer Support team's prior email, or simply send a new email enquiry if needed to info@addictedtoaudio.com.au for further support and instruction on the next steps regarding your quotation and repair.

What went wrong is poor customer…

What went wrong is poor customer service and misleading advertising. I ordered a cd player for $220 not realising there were 2 identical models except one had blue tooth - that’s what I wanted - and a non BT. The adds were identical and I ordered the non BT in error. They wouldn’t exchange it for me and told me to sell it on eBay. I did but for $100 loss. They have good products but because of the poor service I’d be wary of buying from them, there are other retailers with much better customer service. I have since spent nearly 10k on audio equipment and would have bought from them if not for my bad customer experience with the cd player. I didn’t want to risk more dramas if something went wrong spending 10k so bought from retailers I’ve had good experience with in the past. If you’re not concerned about customer support if something goes wrong they are probably as good as anyone else, but for me it’s deal breaker.

First and foremost, I'd like to genuinely apologise for the experience you’ve had with us. We value all customer feedback, and it’s clear that we unfortunately did not meet your expectations on this particular occasion.

I’ve reviewed the details surrounding your concerns about your DM13 purchase, and it appears there might have been a misunderstanding regarding this product's features. There are two versions of the DM13 available via our website - a Bluetooth version, and a non-Bluetooth version, and I understand that you may have mistakenly purchased the non-Bluetooth model believing it offered Bluetooth functionality.

I do genuinely empathise that a misinterpretation of the listed specs occurred which led to an incorrect purchase, and that we subsequently weren't able to accept a return in light of the product being unboxed and used/tested.

To try to ensure that this doesn’t happen again in the future, we’ve updated our product listing for the non-Bluetooth model to make it even clearer that Bluetooth is not a supported functionality on that particular product. 

I absolutely understand how crucial it is for our customers to trust our services and products, and we genuinely regret any inconvenience caused.

Purchased the Final UX3000 headphones

Purchased the Final UX3000 headphones, website experience and delivery was awesome but that where it stopped the product supplied is sub par quality and there is no phone application that works in Australian market.

When I requested a refund was advised that only unopened products will be accepted, no mention on the site about poor audio quality of the product and information about there is phone app support. Will not be purchasing from this company again.

Note to other users - Bluetooth connection is poor - having to restart the device as the audio sounds like you are underwater.

The Richmond store is Grand

Called in the magnificent Richmond store today. Wow what a building. Spectacular display of wares. The initial chat with the staff was very friendly and professional. I was there to try out headphones. I was duly escorted to the 3rd floor and introduced to the Headfi gent named Matt. Matt was an absolute gem. He came across as very knowledgeable, friendly and genuine in his desire to find the right headphone for all my needs. I am fairly new to the HP game so a chat with Matt cleared up alot of questions. I did not make a purchase, but I am now much further advanced in my quest. Thanks to AtoA and Matt. You can't beat great customer service.

Amazing Experience!!!!

Purchased a set of Hifiman Edition XS headphones and a Topping DX3 Pro+ headphone amp/dac. The headphones were on pre-order and the website said that they were expected to come in in early January. I was fine with this so I purchased them online on the 3rd of December and eagerly awaited updates. Their team immediately reached out to me to confirm that I was aware the headphones were on pre-order. I said I was and asked that the amp be sent out as soon as possible so I can get that set up with my current headphones until the new ones came. They did this and I received the amp the next week. I have just received the headphones on Christmas Eve, at least a week earlier than I thought I would and I am over the moon. I checked the packing slip in the box, and they sent it express. I did not pay for express so I really appreciate that they would express ship it to me (by air as well so it arrived the day after it was sent).
I also want to note that the headphones were only 449 AUD as opposed to their normal 779 AUD. There is only one other authorised seller of these headphones in Australia (from what I can tell), and they were only selling them at the normal price. So I was able to get the headphones and amp for cheaper than the headphones would usually cost.
Overall I am incredibly happy with my whole experience with Addicted to Audio and will definitely be purchasing from them in the future.

Warning warning warning ⚠️

I had a very frustrating experience with Addicted to Audio and want to share so others can be aware before purchasing from them.

I purchased both an IFI Zen DAC and Zen Can from them, but the DAC stopped working as expected when connected to my iPhone 13 Pro Max via an adapter. I tested it with multiple adapters, but the device only worked when connected to a PC. Even though the light at the back turned on, the front light near the volume knob didn't, and it simply didn’t function with my iPhone.

After explaining the issue, Addicted to Audio initially confirmed that they would provide a **full refund** once the items were returned and assessed. Based on this, I sent both devices back in good faith.

However, after assessing the items, they changed their stance and **refused to issue a refund**. They claimed they couldn’t reproduce the problem and that the DAC worked with their iPhone 14 completely disregarding the issues I experienced with my iPhone.

They also charged me a **return freight fee of $16.50** just to get the faulty items back. This is despite their earlier confirmation that I’d receive a full refund.

The back-and-forth, broken promises, and refusal to honor their initial agreement made this a terrible experience. If you're considering buying from Addicted to Audio, **beware of their refund practices** and questionable customer service.

I’d recommend looking elsewhere if you want a company that stands by their products and values their customers.

Nice store for high end audio

Nice store for high end audio. It is a great place to spend some time where you can really take your time to test stuff. There is no pressure to buy and a really educated team. I have been there a couple of times now to try different headphones and amps. James served me well and provided an excellent experience.

Well...what more need I say? Wonderful store in great smart Newmarket location, handy parking and to cap it all off marvellous discussions with the ever so helpful, courteous and professional Nick Anderson, who looked after me on my first visit so considerately and expertly, given I'm a relative audio newbie to be honest. I'll be back soon for sure. Thoroughly recommended. Top notch service.

Scummy Business Practice and Irresponsible!

They were my first choice when it came to audio gear. But as of lately, I'm not sure if they are under new management or due to their arrogance, they don't uphold the Australian standard anymore. Opted for an express delivery for a Topping A30 Pro Amp, got it after 3 weeks and not until I gave them a hitch first (The item was available and did not require pre-order fyi). Got a faulty Fiio BTR7 which made random screeching noises whenever it is turned on, during playback or almost out of battery, while the problem did not persist when I connected my iem/headphones to a Topping DX3, a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle or an integrated sound card. I have to send it back for a warranty check with my own money no more than 3 weeks after purchase. Took them way past 3 weeks (and of course I had to give it a hitch for them to let me know that they were 'behind schedule') just for them to reply with a message of no fault found. I'm not even sure if they even bother to give it a try (: Now they bar me from my own product with their ridiculous return fee (even though I had paid for a warranty check prior). Rated 1 star for the product but it never showed up on their page. Too much restriction, feels like China ngl. "Australian sourced stock, with full local warranty", they say, but if there are problems, it's your own responsibility, I guess. If you are buying from tech companies such as PC Case Gear or Centrecom and expect to get the same treatment. STEER CLEAR! You better look at Minidisc or Melbournechifiaudio since they offer a much better warranty and customer protection and do offer price match!

Ordered a pair of headphones which they didn't have in stock but they were very prompt in letting me know and happily refunded my purchase. I ended up buying another pair of headphones for a great price on special (around $400 cheaper then elsewhere). Very fast delivery and very happy with purchase.
