Breath of fresh air
Having worked in customer service for the last 20 years its always refreshing when you come across a company that truly values customer service at its core and Appliances of America certainly fits that bill.
Billy Jackson promptly called me the following day to confirm my order, I am not easy to get ahold of at times and he kept at till he was able to get me.
He was extremely helpful in answering my questions and explained the shipping process.
Two thumbs way up for Billy and Appliances of America, I will certainly be shopping there in the future for my other appliance needs.

Still waiting after two months (canceled the order eventually) ......
Honestly I am very very disappointed on the experience with Appliances of America. Though Mr. sales (well I doubt the business owner, sales, and customer service are the same person because my phone call always went to the same person no matter which number I called) sounds like a very nice guy and appeared to make efforts to fulfill the order.
Here is my experience. I ordered bunch of kitchen appliances from Appliances of America (AOA) on August 22 because the price on AOA website was good. My credit card was charged the 3rd day. However, I did not receive confirmation email regarding to my order. So I called them. I was told I had to wait for about 4 weeks for delivery, or pay the express shipping service which guarantee the shipment in 10 days. I paid $380 for the express shipping.
10 days later, again I did not receive any update on my order. I called again. They told me my order is a big one. It was delayed and will be shipped within 4 weeks.
4 weeks later, nothing happened. I called again. Mr. sales/customer service asked me to rent a refrigerator using my own credit card and promised me he will reimburse me. So I rented a refrigerator. He also promised me he definitely will call me and tell me the tracking number on October 23.
On October 23, he did not call me or email me. I called him many times. No response. I emailed him. I submitted a review to Trustpilot.
On Monday October 26, AOA reported my review and stated no record of the reviewer. I submitted the invoice of my order to Trustpilot. Again I called AOA many many times. No response. It seemed that my call was screened. However, Mr. sales/customer service replied my email. The excuse is my order is again delayed, this time by hurricane. He promised it will be shipped out on Nov 6 and reimburse my refrigerator rental payment. At that point, I really could not believe any of his promises. He totally lost credibility after so many times of broken promises. I have waited for over 8 weeks after my kitchen is remodeled without appliances! So I cancelled my order. I would guess he will have other excuses on Nov. 6.
Another thing worth your attention is on the 2nd day after my credit card was charged by Appliances of America, it was charged by some Brooklyn salon for about $1000 which I never ordered anything from. I noticed it and had to report to my credit card company and cancel my credit card immediately. Today I saw several reviewers also reported the similar situations.
This is definitely the worst purchase experience I had. I do not write reviews so often. But I feel like I have to let you know. Be far away from Appliances of America!
It's all in ONE
We used internet to compare the price, decided to make a try order cross the country. Even we been waiting for a month, it's really worth, when you see the real professional guys come to your house make excellent installation! Avoid touching any lovely furniture! Great job! For sure i will suggest it to my people!
Slow and Unreliable
Order for kitchen appliances took 9 weeks to be delivered - even though delivery had been promised in 4 weeks. No updates on delivery time were given through the process - and automated customer service was useless. I specifically requested 2nd story delivery - and the delivery guys were totally unprepared without the correct equipment and saying they could not travel across any unfinished landscaping - after lots of phone calls they finally delivered using my workers for help. I had already ordered the same appliances for the 3 other homes through a well known Brooklyn based competitor - negotiating a better price and everything arrived in 2 weeks even with some items being out of stock and absolutely no delivery drama with similar site conditions.
Very disappointed with this company
I read good reviews about this company online so I figured my experience would be similar. It was not. I ordered a ice maker and beverage fridge in early June. Got a call in Aug saying that the units were discontinued and that the suggested replacements were $350 more and that the beverage fridge should ship with the week. I say fine, I just want some appliances. 3 weeks go by and nothing. I am not holding the discontinued appliance thing against AOA but it is unacceptable to be told that the appliances are shipping and then nothing happens for weeks. 9/11 I ask for my order to be canceled. 9/16 my order is canceled and I was told that my CC should be refunded in 10 business days. 3 weeks go by and no refund has been processed. 10/7 I finally get a call from the sales representative and they said it is going to be another 15 business days before I get my refund. So now if I am lucky, I might get a refund 6 weeks after I asked for my order to be canceled. That is unacceptable customer service in my opinion. I have a hard time believing anything this company says at this point since not one thing has been done to prove me wrong. I can't even talk to someone who would be processing my refund as my call gets screened by the sales representative and they blame the Jewish holidays and that they are in transition. Very very disappointed in my yet to be complete experience with AOA, I do not recommend using this company. Finally just called my credit card company to dispute the charge.
Run far away and do not use this Company
I placed my order nearly 10 weeks ago. A few days after placing my order, I received a call from "Mr. Sales" confirming many of the details of my order. Mr. Sales was very charming and confirmed that my order would be delivered within 15 to 20 days. My credit card was immediately charged over $5,000 for my order.
Around August 20, I hadn't heard any updates, and my order still showed as "processing," so I decided email the company for an update. I received no response....so August 26, I emailed again....still no response. So, September 1 I emailed again, and also called the company. I spoke to "Ms. Customer Service" who was also very pleasant to talk to (and she mentioned receiving my emails and said they had already been forwarded to Mr. Sales), but again, could not provide an update. She said she would contact the "shipping" department and have them call me with an update within 24 hours. Despite several emails and calls, I did not receive any true update from the company, but there were a lot of excuses: jewish holidays, new order processing company, growth of the company, trucking company delays, factory delays, etc. etc.
Finally, September 16 (yes, 2 weeks after my appliances were already supposed to be delivered), I was able to have a discussion with Mr. Sales again. Another round of excuses, and he promised my appliances would be on a truck to Colorado on October 1. He also agreed to various price concessions and refunds to compensate me for my delays. He promised his "accounting department" would cut a refund check to me very soon for the price concessions and refunds.
October 1 came and went...no update, no refund check, no email, nada. I called Mr. Sales again on October 6. Mr. Sales provided me with another round of excuses (some the same; jewish holidays, processing company, growth of the company). By this point, I was very suspicious of whether they are a real legitimate business. After identifying several recent negative (and disputed) TrustPilot reviews and inquiring of the NJ BBB (please check them out - there's an alert), I decided to confront Mr. Sales to understand if Appliances of America is a real business. I asked Mr. Sales about multiple of my suspicions (many I cannot mention here as TrustPilot has informed me they are a violation of their policies), but to name a few: they do not have an office at the company address on their website, no other extensions work in their phone system other than Ms. Customer Service and Mr. Sales, donation buttons on their website do not go anywhere, etc.
Mr. Sales was confrontational and recommended that I write the company's lawyers a letter and dispute the charge with American Express. This is not how I expect legitimate Company's to handle these types of inquiries or matters. I told Mr. Sales I just wanted my appliances, and was not interested in a legal battle.
Of most concern to me, Mr. Sales refused to put me in touch with his supervisor, the company owner, or even name one other employee of the company. Odd, since they apparently have a "processing department," "shipping department," and "accounting department." Mr. Sales told me that I would not be able to talk to the Owner, but maybe one of his "representatives" may be able to contact me.
My recommendation, steer clear....and if you've already ordered, cancel your order and immediately dispute the charge. Thinking about ordering? Do some online research first. I suspect that the delays in processing orders are simply to push the credit card payments past the dispute period - so you are out of your money and will not get your appliances.
Avoid this place at all costs and buy local
Do yourself a favor and read some of the other reviews - long story short, this company appears to be a scam. After ordering a $1900 refrigerator, I was told it would take 4 weeks to arrive and that I'd get tracking info on the 3rd week. After no communication from them by the 4th week, I called and they said it would take another 4 weeks. When asked what the reason for the delay was, they said demand (?) and quickly tried to change the subject and offer a warranty or installation. The fact is, they could not offer a guaranteed ship date, so after more lack of communication from them I cancelled my order and opened a fraud claim with my bank.
Additionally, their representative asked me for a favorable review (after placing my initial order) before I had even received anything in exchange for a small discount, which I never got! The email in which this request was made was incoherent, sensationalized, and borderline comical - this should've given me an indication of the caliber of company I was dealing with. What a Joke.
As another reviewer posted, shortly after placing my initial order, I received a suspicious charge from china and had to cancel my card - I find this to be an odd coincidence.

customer service over the phone
Billy Jackson was the representative that handled my matter. I wanted to confirm that the address was the correct address for shipping my order. He was extremely helpful, and literally called me back within minutes to confirm everything! I have never experienced customer service like this before. He even gave me his extension if I needed to contact him back- never in my almost 44yrs of dealing with customer service, has the representative provided me their extension to contact them back if needed! Thanks Billy for your amazing service!!:)
Appliances of America: Great Prices - Great Service!
I was looking for a new Weber grill and came across Appliances of America website. Their prices beat places like Amazon and they had an excellent selection. Ordering was easy and I had great customer service follow up from Billy. Billy ensured my order was shipped timely and he followed up to make sure I had received it and everything was in order.
Thanks Appliances of America!!
Rock Star Review
Over memorial day weekend we decided to purchase a new refrigerator. We did some background checks with consumer reports and customer reviews, and found a fridge that would work for us. We went around to many retail stores all stores were consistant with prices. Buying a big item like this we wanted to make sure we checked out all our options before deciding where to buy the fridge. After going from store to store we decided to look online. Through our online search we found Appliances of America. Appliances of America had by far the best deal on the fridge were wanted. We ended up saving a couple hundred dollars and the customer service review was excellent which was a big selling factor for us. I have been in contact with Appliance of American and their sales representative Billy Jackson. Billy was a great help and answered all of my questions. He was very charming and a pleasure to talk to on the phone. When the time comes to order more appliances I will be calling up Billy at Appliances of America.
Thank you Billy Jack, you are a ROCK STAR
A very satisfied costumer,

Billy Jack's Excellent Customer Service
After ordering 3 appliances online from Appliances of America, I decided a couple of days afterwards to contact the company to confirm that they would be able to deliver my purchases to our small town in California. I spoke with the friendly Billy "Jack" and he said that the items would be delivered to L.A.. I told him I didn't have a trailer to pick up the items and he kindly released me from my commitment. Billy was very professional and obviously enjoys taking the time to give great customer service.
Wasted two months with this company with no delivery or refund made, buyers beware!
I've been extremely patient with the folks at Appliances of America, and I'm not the type who complain easily, but this place is beyond ridiculous. This has got to be the single worst online purchase experience I've ever encountered. You've been warned.
I'll let the audit trail speak for itself...
7/23 - order placed for a Viking range hood
8/4 - No status update, contacted customer service and was informed that purchase is a special order and will take 4-6 weeks. Attempted to cancel order.
8/5 - Customer service said they will look into speeding up the process and let me know by 8/7
8/7 - No phone call and could not get through to customer service by phone or email
8/10 - "it looks like we will be able to get the unit to you much sooner than the original time frame"
8/21 - numerous unanswered emails and phone calls later, "we are planning on delivering your order this upcoming week"
8/27 - No sign of delivery. Called Billy directly and he promised I would get a call back by noon next day.
8/28 - No call back. Called Billy and he promised to call me back "right away". 4 hours later, "we will give you a call before noon next Monday"
8/31 - No call back. Called customer service and Billy again, Billy promised to email me with a status update.
9/1 - Received email "The delivery is set up for this week they will call you 12 hours before they deliver"
9/3 - No sign of delivery confirmation or tracking info. More excuses and empty promises were made over the phone.
9/10 - Finally agreed to cancel my order and issue full refund by 9/28
9/29 - Refund is nowhere to be found. When contacted I was informed they are observing Jewish holiday.
Mistakes aren't important: Correcting them is!
I've lived enough life to know that we all make mistakes. I've also learned that making the mistake isn't what's important but how we handle fixing it tells a much more important story. Appliances of America and I got off to a bit of a rocky start because my order got caught in "you live in a remote area" limbo. The order wasn't fully processed because shipping would have cost significantly more than quoted (which was free) because we don't get trucks in our area very often and no one contacted me about it; the order just stalled. So after getting no response via email (I later found out it was a holiday time for them), I called. I voiced my complaint that three weeks after placing the order, I had heard nothing of my stove and the website just said that my order was being processed. Not much help.
That's where handling a mistake well comes into play. Everyone who owns a business should take lessons from Appliances of America on how to deal with sticky situations and unhappy customers. The person I talked to was kind, gracious, thoughtful and best of all, made me want to buy ALL my appliances from them! To turn an unhappy customer into a die-hard customer is a difficult thing to do and Appliances of America did just that. You won't find a more responsive business anywhere and I can't recommend them highly enough.
I very much look forward to dealing with them again. Thank you!
Don't fall into this trap!!!!
I do a lot of ordering online, so trust me when I say that it is saying A LOT when I say worst EVER! I ordered my appliances on August 4th, knowing that it would give me at least 3 weeks to receive my appliances before my kitchen renovations were to start. I inquired about the status of my order via email after 2 weeks passed, and it didn't show as shipped. They then informed me that it won't ship for about 4 weeks (nowhere in the website does it state this). I was NOT happy, but decided to just roll with it. The funds ($2,600) were withdrawn from my account within 7 days of ordering. It is now September 16th, and my appliances STILL have not shipped! I have a fully renovated kitchen that I have been unable to use for 3 weeks! I have called multiple times and emailed, with not one response! This company is located in the east coast, and I on the west, so I can't call during their hours of operation (which are shorter for customer service of course) due to my work hours. I'm am disgusted with what is happening here! I have three small children at home, and no functioning kitchen thanks to this hack of a company!
Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs!
***UPDATE***
I was finally able to get someone from customer service on the phone by calling sales... I spoke with someone who gave me some schpeel about how something was water damaged, and that's why the order hadn't shipped. He stated that they had to reorder that item, and that it would take until October 16th to get. Mind you, I had already been waiting since August 4th. If that were the case, then why wasn't I notified sooner so that I had the option to cancel or decide to wait?!
Anyway, I cancelled my order on September 21st, and the man said that it would take approximately 9 days to get my refund. I didn't get the confirmation email, so I emailed him the next day. In the subsequent response, he stated that it would take 2 weeks to process the credit. It's 10/21 and I STILL have not received the credit to my account. I have emailed and called and have received no response. I tried to file a dispute with my bank, but I have passed the 60 day timeline in which you can file, because I was trying to be patient and give them time to do their JOBS! I am going to do everything in my power to get my money back, no matter how long it takes; I will begin calling every day, I will post in every review site, I will file a dispute with the Better Business Bureau. I am appalled that this company is allowed to continue to operate! Look up the address they list, it comes back to another company. Looks like it's time to start giving them a call as well!
December 4th, and still nothing!
BILLY IS THE BEST !!!!!
A week ahead of schedule delivered and the best price.
I would recommend Appliances of America and Billy to anyone
Worst Experience Shopping Anywhere Ever
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. The worst, most unprofessional experience I had ever had with any company at any point in my life.
Ordered online. Charged Immediately. No communication for days after. Told it'd be 3 weeks. At 3 weeks, told it'd be another week. At one week, told it'd be in two days. Nothing happened. Called on Monday, only to be met by a contentious owner who said he would have to fire his customer service representative for telling me the wrong thing. Offered me a 2-year warranty (told him I just want my washer and dryer), and said he'd have it out by Wednesday and would call me. No call on Wednesday. No Call on Thursday. Called on Friday, voicemail multiple times, no response to emails. CS said Owner would call me, still waiting on that call.
Throughout the process, they actively asked for positive reviews (before even receiving ANYTHING!). Hence all the reviews you see here. Don't be led astray. Completely mismanaged and now in pursuit of my money back from their company.
Still awaiting a refund for $2300 worth of appliances I never received
I ordered a number of new appliances from this company over two months ago. After repeated calls to the company that went unanswered, I posted a negative review to this site, whereupon company representatives assured me that my appliances would arrive "in another week" - and asked me as a gesture of good faith to take down my negative review and replace it with a positive one. Eager to get my appliances, and impressed by the eloquence and apparent helpfulness of the company owner, who promised to solve the problem personally, I complied. Several more weeks passed, though, and still no appliances were delivered - in fact, two specific delivery dates in the space of two weeks were canceled the night beforehand by the aforementioned owner of the company - so I requested a refund, which he agreed to give me, and bought the appliances from another company (which delivered them the next day). That was now two weeks ago, and I have not received the refund, either - just promises of a 5-year warranty on my appliances purchased elsewhere, and explanations that the Jewish New Year, which has now long since passed, is still responsible for the delay in processing my refund (of which my credit card company has received no notice from Appliances of America, not even a premilinary indication that a refund should be in the works) . So here I am, still out $2300, and my lawyer brother is recommending legal action, to which I would prefer not to have to resort. I hope this review (1) saves other customers this kind of needless unpleasantness, and (2) reminds Appliances of America that I am impatiently awaiting my $2300, which I would infinitely prefer to a 5-year dishwasher warranty.
Great customer service.
AppliancesOfAmerica.com were great to work with. They very helpful and flexible in setting up my delivery date and time.
Bottom line, I'd work with them again and recc. to a friend.
Cheap/ Slow but overall good to go.
The Good: The overall price is low. And customer follow up with their service department is good to go.
The Bad: It does take a while (little over a month) to get the product.
They did a follow up call about a month after delivery and was offered a extended warranty on the product. This makes up for some of the frustration of waiting- so I will change my "stars" to 5.
