Forget 1 star. Boots has become a zero star corrupt greedy immoral organisation
Forget 1 star. Its a zero star!
Got totally scammed by Boots online. Returned an unopened £252 Oral-B iO10 Electric Toothbrush via their business returns service with Royal Mail and they seem to have lost the item and won't refund my money after initially consistently promising to do so for nearly 2 months! Even Royal Mail say they should refund me as the Boots business service return service was used and there is a tracking service number showing the item arrived in Nottingham where their returns warehouse is. Wasted so much time on this with multiple phonecalls and emails with Boots customer service staff many of whom claimed they couldn't access this or that and kept going around in circles asking to be sent the same things again and again. These guys couldn't tell the difference between their own heads and arses. Boots Operations Team customer service who are impossible to get hold off firstly as they can only be contacted by an internal Boots customer service member then had the audacity to behave like cowboys on a street corner to scam me. These guys are so bad, dysfunctional, and incompetent they would not be able to organise a piss up in a brewery but they would do really well working for an East European gangster outfit. Don't even seem to be able to formalise a complaint as they say their joke operations team decision is final. Boots should be ashamed of themselves. It appears Boots are no longer a trustworthy or reputable organisation and now have no regard for UK legislation on consumer rights. Will need to take legal action and no doubt will succeed but the time and effort for me as a busy doctor will be a headache. Will never ever buy from Boots ever again when there are alternative more reputable organisations like John Lewis or Amazon online who actually have a proper customer service who will do a proper job and behave with a conscience. AVOID BOOTS LIKE THE PLAGUE! With a set up like they have I am sure Boots' days are numbered. As more customers like me move away from them hopefully its just a matter of time before they are forced off the high street. They are clearly run by and employ total imbeciles.
I expect better service
Collected half of my order, bit what’s happened to the rest of it is a mystery. Can I get any help, contact anyone or get the problem sorted? No! I expect better.
They refunded me, told me to reorder, except now i’ll have to pay postage and they can’t do any more. So Boots have must lost an online customer. This is what happens when you use call centres off shore.
Unable to use digital voucher from online newspaper.
I have given this review one star because there is not an option for no stars. I buy my newspaper online, I went into the Bridport branch today and presented the £10 discount voucher on my phone at the checkout, I was informed by the staff that the voucher was only valid from the physical newspaper. I then had to walk to a newsagent to purchase a Daily Mail at the cost of £1.20 to tear out and use the voucher. The staff were apologetic but I think that it is a discrimination against us who purchase our newspapers online.
Absolutely awful customer service
Absolutely awful customer service. I ordered a bronzer that turned out to be faulty and tried to return it. The Oxford Street store refused and told me it had to be done online. When I contacted online customer service, they told me the exact opposite — that it had to be done in store. Endless contradiction and zero accountability. They genuinely make your life hell if you try to return anything. To make matters worse, the customer service agent on the phone actually hung up on me when I said she was lying. Shocking behaviour. Boots has gone massively downhill — horrible staff, terrible systems, and no respect for customers. I will never ever shop there again. Absolute shambles of a retailer
Just hopeless full stop
Just hopeless full stop. Purchased an Xmas gift, delivery estimate 22nd Dec, they cancelled the order with no confirmation just refund back into account still with no confirmation
How Boots have fallen as a retailer
How Boots have fallen as a retailer! So disappointed and let down by your customer service, which is a total sham. After placing an order the beginning of November. It arrived in two different parcels into store. Unfortunately the second parcel never arrived. I popped in several times. Time I did not actually have, but nevertheless! The package did not appear. So I spoke to customer service. Who resent the parcel. Unfortunately the parcel arrived, but half of it was missing as the items were sold out. No surprise there. Which is why I ordered so early initially! Customer service also promised to update my Boots card as a goodwill gesture. Again this was not carried out! I am now £40 out of pocket, without points I was promised, and again about to make the dreaded call! Boots you should be ashamed of yourselves, never again. One more high street shop to go, and you only have yourselves to blame!
Inadequate packaging and numerous damaged products
Have spent well over £100 on gifts via their Christmas promotion with delivery options to home or store. Whoever is packaging their parcels needs to give their head a good wobble. 1 box was way too small for the items enclosed and had no protective packaging inside resulting in a box of biscuits being crushed in one corner. A lynx gift set in the parcel also having its outer box damaged.
A second parcel containing 2 gift sets with a ceramic mug in each (Bluey) also had no protective packaging inside, a miracle those 2 arrived unscathed.
Latest parcel today had 2 items, one of which the outer box was ripped open (Spiderman shower gel set).
There seems to be no quality control whatsoever and any old damaged stock being sent out.
I will not be using again Boots.com again.
Boots no good
I placed an order online for £170 including next day delivery on 24/11/25.I rang Boots several times. The last time was today. The previous call was made on 4/12. I was told today I would have to wait 14 days from 4/12 for a replacement to be issued. I asked for a refund and was told sorry you asked for a replacement
Don't use Boots online if you are spending a lot of money, you will be very lucky to get what you ordered.
Boots’ Service Has Become Deeply Unreliable and Misleading (Order 757224975)
My order 757224975 was divided into two parcels. One arrived without issue. The second was left outside my flat in a completely unsuitable location without my permission and never reached me. Royal Mail later confirmed directly to me that the delivery was unsafe and should be treated as lost.
When I first spoke to Boots, customer service acknowledged the problem immediately and processed a refund on their system. Then, inexplicably, the operations team refused to honour it. Each time I called, the agents agreed it was unusual that their own internal team would not act.
What followed was a sequence of statements from Boots that were simply not true. I was told twice that the delivery photo showed my door open. It does not. I was told Boots had contacted Royal Mail. Royal Mail confirmed to me that this had not happened. I was given information that was factually incorrect at every stage.
After almost two months, Boots finally stated that they would open a case with Royal Mail. I allowed considerable time to pass before checking, only to learn from Royal Mail that there was no record of any claim from Boots at all.
As a single parent who bought essential supplies for my baby, I should not have been left without the goods, without the money and without any clarity or accuracy from the retailer. What should have been a simple resolution turned into a confusing and exhausting process filled with conflicting explanations and untrue information.
I am genuinely saddened to say this about a company I once relied on, but I do not recognise this version of Boots. Based on this experience, I cannot trust them and I would not purchase from them again. I hope this review serves as a warning to others. If something goes wrong with your order, you may find yourself facing the same lack of transparency, responsibility and basic customer care.

Boots in Denmead are excellent it is always ready for collection rapidly. The service is excellent and the drugs are always available.
1/5 didn’t deliver and rejected my claim for my money back
1/5 — Missing Items & Claim Rejected Without Proof — £153.66 Lost
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience ordering from Boots. My order (779944541) arrived missing items worth £153.66, yet Boots have failed to provide any photographic evidence that the goods were delivered. Despite having no proof of delivery at all, they rejected my claim and refused to refund me.
Customer service has been unhelpful and dismissive, repeatedly stating the order was delivered without providing any supporting evidence. As a long-time customer, this treatment is unacceptable.
I’m now £153.66 out of pocket with no items to show for it, and Boots are refusing to take responsibility. I will not be ordering from them again unless their delivery processes and customer service improve dramatically.
Appalling customer service
I had a probem with an order to be collected from a store. Part had been collected but all were shown online as collected. I could not get to store for a few days. Tried to ring local store redirected to another number which did not allow me to speak to anyone. Gave up and wrote to customer services. Took three days to respond to say could not help please go into store. Not first bad experience, will only shop at this store if they are the last place
Boots online - poor
Very rarely order from Boots - reason being absolute terrible service. Placed order for next day delivery and instead of Friday, was delivered Tuesday. No explanation or apology. When finally received the order, the box was all beaten up and upon opening have discovered that item is missing from the order. Impossible to contact Boots directly. Just terrible experience . Part of the problem is the courier company -DHL- as the box looked like it was open and retaped so this item was probably gone missing ‘ en route’ . However Boots is the supplier so their responsibility.
What a shambles wanted to get a picture…
What a shambles wanted to get a picture done one machine wasn't working the orther ad a connection broke.
Totally incompetent …
I ordered 2 items on their online website for home delivery. They sent the wrong items so I had to call their customer service. They said that they would send out the correct items but once again they sent out the wrong items!
I called them again and had the options of either letting them try again or take them back to a store myself. To take them back to the store would cost me £5. I do not see why its my responsibility to do this. Then they told me that if I want a postage return label I would have to email them. Customer service were so unhelpful just sitting reading from a screen as couldn't answer any of my question. Also, when you call their number you to go through the voice recognison which is useless. I would never order from them again.
Total abuse of a half baked AI customer…
Total abuse of a half baked AI customer service solution. Worst I have ever experienced.
How I was treated
Went into Boots at Braehead today looking for aftershave for Xmas gift. Was greeted by a lovely young woman called Courage. She was very knowledgeable kind and very helpful she helped me pick stuff for my grandson. So I will definitely be back to shop in boots Braehead. Courage went over and above for me today. So thank you.
disgusting customer service!
The most disgusting customer service i have ever encountered. As per the tracking photo, my order was left outdoors in an unlocked postal tray, not belonging to me. But because royal mail logged it down as “enclosed front porch” Boots are refusing to refund my money. I have no idea where my parcel is. And you can very clearly see it was left outdoors. I am now £100 down and boots have no interest in helping. I will be taking legal action and opening a retail dispute with my bank. Absolutely disgusting organisation, will never shop with them again
I always have a pleasant shopping…
I always have a pleasant shopping experience in Boots Birmingham High street. Was taken aback this morning by a stony faced Chanel consultant who had a serious attitude…. Was very unhelpful. Been a customer for a long time…. Shop at Selfridges in future👋🏻
