The Cotswolds in May

Loved Mary our guide, thought our companions were great. Dave our driver was excellent and very accommodating. The gardens were amazing. But please rethink the accommodations.

I had a wonderful trip to the gardens…

I had a wonderful trip to the gardens of Wester Ross. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful and of course the scenery was magnificent. The accommodation was excellent. My problem arose with the booking process. I was told a few days before the trip and while already in Scotland that I could not have the single rooms we had booked many months before. This was eventually sorted out but caused a great deal of anxiety and stress for a few days before. Brightwater did ultimately recompense me which is good but I wish the whole mix up had not happened. The guide and driver were also off site and not accommodated at the hotel which was not optimal.

Tour number 6 was a winner!

My sixth tour with Brightwater was just as enjoyable as the first five! The sites were interesting, sometimes amazing. The hotel and meals were excellent. Walks along the beach at night were a bonus! The guide and driver were friendly, informative and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better holiday.

Gardens of Kent and East Sussex

The tour was very well organised, led by very knowledgable guide Julia Corden. Itinerary was well balanced with the visits to the wonderful gardens , some were privately owned and some NT Estates.

Vive la France

Helpful staff both in the office and tour leader. Would have been helpful if the hotel had air con and fridge in the rooms as there was a heatwave which was a challenge.

Good group tour guide knowledgeable and…

Good group tour guide knowledgeable and helpful well organised tour. SWEDISH guides excellent and also the driver
Age of group 70 + I would judge early starts long days fit in with Swedish lifestyles early evening meals
Negative aspect left to our own devices in the evening luckily the six singles gelled and we ate together.
Another successful Brigjtwater trip.

Nicholas Merchant superb but terrible hotel

The visits and talks by Nicholas were excellent. Very informative and he is superb company. He organised that side of the Tour extremely well.

Unfortunately the Mercure Hotel in Darlington was terrible. Very hot and immediately opposite a pub which blasted out loud music until midnight. The bottles were then collected and bins emptied around 6AM so very little sleep. Room very cramped and half the lights had dead bulbs. Food was of school dinners standard and many of the staff disinterested.

Brightwater's organisation was poor. Travel requests ignored. Tickets sent out very late by which time it was too late to change anything. A recurrent complaint from fellow Travellers was the move of offices from Salisbury to Cheltenham hss led to the loss of many experienced staff. Those that do remain are totally overwhelmed firefighting.

Not Great

There really wasn't much 'content' to this holiday - I'd rather pay more, and get more as with other companies. Hotel was distinctly mediocre. Won't be travelling with them again.

Had to cancel our forthcoming holiday…

Had to cancel our forthcoming holiday due to illness. As we had paid upfront we were due a full refund less deposit. Apparently there is a 14 working day wait for a refund. After 14 days still no refund despite customer services saying it had been processed. Very disappointed with this company.
