No dramas with Byways
We have never travelled to, and within, Europe overland before and we were a little dubious about letting a company provide us with the whole package viz trains and hotel. However, our trip with Byways was excellent and trouble free. We are planning another similar trip and will definitely request Byways to assist us.

Can’t wait for our next adventure
This was the first time we have travelled across Europe by train and Byway made it all so easy. From the initial enquiry to the end of our journey the Byway team were great. The hotels were all in good locations and of a good standard. Some of our initial trains that were booked changed prior to the trip but again the team were on top of this and gave us different options to choose from. During the holiday we had a cancelled train but the WhatsApp contact system was answered quickly and the issue was sorted within minutes.
So thanks Byway for a great experience and we will not hesitate to book with you again for our next adventure.

Fantastic customer care
Fantastic customer care, availability for help, and effectiveness of journey planning. Always pleasant, enthusiastic and helpful.
Shall undoubtedly use them again, this is my second trip with them and the first solo train travel in Europe I’ve done for over 50 years but they gave me every confidence.

Training around Spain in the rain
We travelled around Spain late Jan/early Feb shortly after the train derailment near Cordoba and during a lot of big storms in Andalucia. A few of our trains were either cancelled or rerouted and Byways were excellent in keeping us updated and rearranging and rebooking our travel where necessary. Their whatsapp chatline and live journey planner are really excellent tools and I can't thank them enough for their excellent support on our trip

We two mid seventies travellers had a problem with the ticketing initially but with a little help we got back on track and ticked off some of our must sees. All in all it was a great trip and we loved the trains. The hotels were all good and most very good and very helpful and welcoming. The weather could have been better but to be fair it doesn't rain in Cathedrals, Mosques and cafes and restaurants
I'll be back in the near future to see more of Europe. Maybe to go east and I think that Byway will be my way

Traveling by train in Europe with Byway…
Traveling by train in Europe with Byway has been a great experience. We just returned from our 2nd trip with them and everything went very well. We had one accommodation that wasn't ideal but otherwise the travel and accommodations were perfect for our trip in both journeys, Italy and central Europe.

Could not have had a better experience during both the trip itself and working with Byways. Phenomenal support from them during the trip. Wonderful little hotels. I went to Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Berlin

I booked a holiday as a surprise for my husband. I was waiting for the itinerary to arrive seven days after paying the deposit before showing it to him.
This was to be a surprise for his 80th birthday. After 11 days I told him about the holiday and as we had not received the itinerary we went online. Sadly he felt he was unable to do the Holiday that I had booked.
We were not travelling for another nine months and I thought that byways might be able to swap it for another more expensive holiday around the same time.
However, they were unable to do this x the young man (Zac) was very nice and very polite but very unhelpful.
We still had to pay 10% of the total cost of the holiday even though we were still nine months prior to travelling. And wanting to swap for a more expensive holiday.
I was very disappointed as this did cost us £317 just to cancel. I don’t think we will be rebook another holiday with byway!

I have worked to adapt our systems going forward so that this doesn't happen again, and been in touch with you directly to apologise and compensate you for the delay. While our trips do include a non-refundable fee once confirmed (because of costs we incur at booking), we should have taken our delay into account when processing your cancellation. I appreciate you giving us the opportunity to put things right and I hope we may be able to help you both with another trip in the future.

Took a trip to Sicily in Jan 26. Byway organised all the travel and hotel bookings. Service and support was first class. Italian Rail strike, Hurricane in Sicily and other challenges were all supported brilliantly. A great experience overall,with great hotels in Sicily, Naples,Florence and Verona.

Highly recommend
We had an itinerary, our tickets for various trains and buses and accommodation booked. We turned up and everything was just there. It ran so smoothly with no hitches and we knew we had contacts with byway had anything gone wrong. I highly recommend.

Nordic family trip
From the very 1st email to the last what's app , Byway have been clear. Presice, and had made the holiday a great experience, to stays in Copenhagen, stockholm and Osnabruck. We would certainly go on another rail trip with these guys. We trusted there judgement on hotels and trains and we cant fault them. Well done

Wonderful Christmas rail holiday.
Byway made us an individual itinerary and the process was really easy. They suggested a couple of stops that we would not have thought of allowing us to visit places we wouldn't have. The hotels were all good, fairly central but never too far from the stations. Their WhatsApp helpline staff were amazing when we did have a delay helping to book us on another connection very quickly. We loved watching the wonderful scenery as we went across Europe. We will definitely have more holidays with them.

Excellent custom trip that went through several iterations to meet our needs with professional customer service throughout. They made it so easy to travel without flying and took all the hassle out of trains and changes. I actually wouldn't think of travelling this way again without byway it makes the whole thing so much less stressful. Really good quirky hotel picks that were all characterful and nice to stay in with excellent locations

Won’t forget our epic trip!
This is a very overdue review from a long weekend weaving our way back from Italy to London via Switzerland and France. Absolutely epic trip which we couldn’t and wouldn’t have done without Byway. It was so last minute coming across you guys (thank you ‘man in Seat 61’!), I was completely overwhelmed trying to plan the route myself and then suddenly I didn’t need to. Everything worked perfectly. We absolutely LOVED the places you guided us to and the hotels were gorgeous. And the communication system available to help with any queries or questions en route is just brilliant. Excellent help with planning a train trip in Europe across 3 countries. Hotel accommodations they recommended all very good. Enabled us to visit places that we would not have seen if we had flown.

This Company is so professional & all…
This Company is so professional & all the staff so helpful & friendly! You really feel they have your back in case of any problem that should arise. They don’t mind any phone call, they provided training for newbies & I can’t recommend enough! We’re now hooked on train travel because of them - it’s so easy once you’re there. Loved knowing we had emergency numbers etc in case we hit a problem! They’re full of hints, tips, places to visit etc - just brilliant!

Easy booking process
Easy booking process. Whole journey planned and booked from London to Zurich. When we encountered delay due to a broken down train, Byway were just a WhatsApp message away to reassure us there would not be a problem with a late arrival at our hotel.
